Why is setting wallpaper impossible to get the picture to fit the screen, it completely ruins my pictures.

Why is it impossible to set your wallpaper without it being blown out of proportion and ruining perfect pictures.......

Since the introduction of the parallax feature in iPad, resizing photos for background pictures no longer works.
Higher definition pictures work well, but older smaller pictures don't.  One option that many do is open your camera roll and open the picture you want to use.  Size it the way you want and then take a screen shot of that picture, which will store in your camera roll and will work for your background picture.
To take a screen shot hold your finger on the home button and then tap the power button and you'll hear your camera shutter take the screen shot.

probably your zoom is on. try double tapping with three fingers on your screen, it should go back to normal and then goto
    settings>general>accesibility>zoom and disable it

  • Can not get the screenpicture to fit the screen.

can not get the screenpicture to fit the screen. problem acurred after hooking up to an external screen. tried everything in screensettings, but the screenpicture is larger than the screen

When you slide the cursor to the edge of the screen, does the screen image scroll, allowing you access to everything (menu bar, Dock, etc.) even though you can't see all of it at once?
If it does, go to the Apple menu and open System Preferences > Trackpad. Is the box for "Screen zoom" checked, under "Two fingers"? If so, press the Control key and drag two fingertips downward (toward you) on the trackpad. Does the screen image zoom down to normal size?
Another possibility is pressing Option+Command+8. If System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing > Screen Zoom has accidentally been turned on, this will turn it off and return your screen to its normal size.

  • Why can I not get my windows to fit the screen

I am not sure what happened today, but in Safari the window does not fit the screen on my Mac Book Pro, even when you click the green + button. What should I do to rectify. I have done a full Shutdown, and still the same.

One other thing that might be handy:
You can set the default Safari window size as follows.  Open a new window (command-n). Resize.  Close window.  Subsequent windows should open at that same size.

  • I just downloaded the recent Maverick Software Update onto my Macbook Pro 15" and when the download/reset finished, my screen was completely black and I have not been able to get it back since. Help?

My computer had been wanting to do a software update, with what I believe was the Mavericks Software, for a few weeks but I had been putting it off. When I finally decided to install the update onto my Macbook Pro 15" today, my screen went completely black and I haven't been able to get it back since. The computer still turns on, I can tell because my caps lock key still glows when I press it and my volume buttons still make sounds when I press them. However, I cannot see anything on the screen. I don't even get the grey start up screen when I reset my computer. I have tried the SafeMode Restart where you hold Shift while it is restarting and the Display Reset in which you hold Command + Option (alt) + R + P until you hear the start up noise twice, and neither have worked. Any other advice on what I can do to get my screen back without having to send my computer away to be fixed?

    Try a SMC reset:

  • How can I get my window to fit the screen?  It is too big.

All of a sudden a few days ago my window on my MacBook pro expanded and now does not fit all at one time on the screen.  I must have done something but do not know what.  I hope someone can help me to get the window to fill the screen so I don't have to move the window back and forth to see everything.  Thanks, Quinner

  • Does anyone know if the new iPad fits the Powersupport screen protector for the iPad 2? And if so, where can I get it installed?

Hey, I was just wondering because I am purchasing my New iPad on Sunday! So excited! But I want to order a screen protector before I go and purchase it. I heard you could get screen protectors installed at Best Buy, but I'm not sure!! Please help!

I just got the powersupport crystal fil for the iPad2 and installed it on my new iPad (3rd gen). It fits perfectly and so far it doesn't affect anything (proximity, portrait/landscape rotation). in my opinion it's the best screen protector for the iPhone so naturally I thought i'd give it a go on the iPad (no adhesive, easy install, great quality etc). One note though, I'm not sure if the anti-glare one would work well on the new iPad with the retina display. I know the iPhone 4 uses a different one than the 3GS. Oh and Best Buy doesn't sell the powersupport.

  • Query help, getting the row that fits the date

    Here is a sample dataset
    CREATE TABLE #TESTDATA (
    TableID INT IDENTITY(1,1),
    SomeCode VARCHAR(50),
    SomeDescription VARCHAR(50),
    EffectiveFrom DATE
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah1','2014-01-03')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah2','2014-01-10')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah3','2014-01-15')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah4','2014-01-30')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah1','2014-01-01')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah2','2014-01-05')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah3','2014-01-20')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah4','2014-01-30')
The dates in the EffectiveFrom column indicates the date from which SomeDescription applies to SomeCode. So when someone asks what was the SomeDescription for SomeCode = A on 2014-01-04, the answer would be blah1.
On '2014-01-10', it would be blah2.
Anything on or past '2014-01-30' would be blah4.
    Nothing if before '2014-01-03'
So how would I do a query that says give me every SomeCode and SomeDescription pair that was effective on @Date. I purposely left out the EffectiveTo date which would make this query very easy by doing a between clause.

Are you looking for the below?
    CREATE TABLE #TESTDATA (
    TableID INT IDENTITY(1,1),
    SomeCode VARCHAR(50),
    SomeDescription VARCHAR(50),
    EffectiveFrom DATE
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah1','2014-01-03')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah2','2014-01-10')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah3','2014-01-15')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('A','blah4','2014-01-30')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah1','2014-01-01')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah2','2014-01-05')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah3','2014-01-20')
    INSERT #TESTDATA (SomeCode,SomeDescription,EffectiveFrom) VALUES ('B','blahblah4','2014-01-30')
    Declare @somecode varchar(10) = 'A', @sDate date = '2014-01-14'
Select Top 1 * From #TESTDATA where SomeCode = @somecode and EffectiveFrom <=@sDate Order by EffectiveFrom desc
    Drop table #Testdata

  • Firefox loads pages so that I have to move the blue slider over to view the entire page, why won't it load the page to fit my screen properly?

If I go to a textual forum, only the first two-thirds of each line is displayed, I have to move the slider to see the right hand end of each sentence.
If I go to an image oriented page such as YouTube, the image is loaded so that I see mainly the left most portions of it very large and have to move that blue slider at the bottom of the screen to the right to see the rest of the page.

    Hello ,
when suddenly one site is very big or very small, resetting the Firefox page zoom can help.
    You have two options:
Go to ''View'' > ''Zoom'' > ''Reset'' or press the shortcut Ctrl+0
    This should fix it!

  • I am unable to get the display to fit the screen.

No matter which resolution I choose, or whether I pick "Fit to Screen" or "Fill Screen"  I have to use the mouse to move up or down or sideways to see the whole display. This seemed to happed after loading Google Chrome.  I deleted Chrome, I reloaded the OS and have verified the disc and repaided permissions.  Sof far nothing has made any difference. any suggestions appreciated

I have to use the mouse to move up or down or sideways to see the whole display.
Look in System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing and check to see if Zoom has become enabled. If so, turn it off.
There is also the possibility of mouse zoom if you have a wireless mouse. That function is generated by holding down the Control key and using the scroll up and down gestures on the mouse.

  • Picture wont fit the screen

    All,
i am using my macbook pro on my tv it a 32 in. sony LCD and i cant get the picture to fit right, with overscan it cuts off some of the screen (the whole menu bar) and with overscan off i have a smaller screen on the tv (black around all sides). i am using a DVI to HDMI cable. any help?!!

Have you checked the resolution being output to the TV? Check the resolution of your TV, and then open System Preferences -> Displays. You can change the resolution to the TV there. It might solve the problem. It is possible, that due to resolution differences between the computer and TV, it won't fit the screen exactly.
