My Girlfriend has been telling me that the IPhone is such an amazing Phone its the best Phone you can get, im hoping she can prove that
i have had the device for about 4 days now and there is a few things i dont understand about the IPhone
One... Why is Setting a Ringtone such a mission you cant just have your music on your phone and say set ringtone, you have to physically plug your phone in to itunes and make a ringtone and then transfer it to your phone ...What a Mission
Two... if you playing a song and a mate likes that song but does not have an IPhone i cannot send him the song via bluetooth which *****, why does is it like this so i can get a better understanding?
Other than that there are a few complicated things on the phone
Maby you guys can help me out maby im doing it the looooooong way for such a simple task.....

Are there apps on your phone right now?
I think one of your apps is causing this.
The only way to find out is to delete them all and then add them one by one to see what app maybe causing this.
Especially if you've gone thru 3 iphones already.
When you restored as new - did you sync back your stuff - apps/music or did you restore from backup?

Ringtones (and audiobooks) can't currently be re-downloaded from the store. If they are no longer on your device then have you not got them on your computer and/or on a backup ?

Rather than do that, which means starting over from scratch, losing all your edits, organisation and so on, why not simply use iPhoto Library Manager to revert the Library to the older version? Easier, less destructive.

If you really want to start over: you can access the Originals folder simply by going to your Pictures Folder and finding the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.

Why am i not getting the sony points?

I am new to this forum and this might be in the wrong place, i do not know how to work the sony forums much so if an admin would like to move this topic to the correct place, i wouldnt mind....
but i have ordered 2 things from sony and it keeps talking about the points, well i dont know how to vew how many points i have and i want to know why it keeps saying "You could have earned so-many Sony Rewards points on this purchase. log in or join to earn points" well i try to log in as i have an account with sony threw my Email (or rather the account i need to buy things with and such.) and now i have an account for the forums.
so why does it keep saying that. also another thing, when i go to try to log in, it keeps saying incorrect info. im using my email info (well the stuff i made for this site.) ok thats conofusing. i have a main email, i used it to join this site, and thus my account with the PW for this account. why do you have to have so many accounts for sony (IE the buying account and the forum account) can you tell i really dont know how to work things? basicly, where can i veiw my points, and why does it keep saying to log in when i already am logged in? this is the second time this is happening where it is saying 'you could have earned points if you log in' I AM logged in. else they wouldnt know my info for billing and shipping and all that.

What happened to the Droid Turbo Link and where is the Sony xperia Z3v?

There was link for the new Droid Turbo and now it is gone. Does that mean they are having problems with phone and want to hide it? Is there going to be a Sony xperia z3v link also? I am trying to decide between these two phones and knowing the problems of both (if any) helps me to make a decision. Thanks

Trying to back up iCloud from a lost iPhone 5 to a new one but Choose backup option says "No iCloud backups are compatible with the version of iOS (7.1) on this iPhone" previous phone was at version 8.1.3

I recently lost my iPhone 5 and purchased a refurbished one on line, I'm trying to backup by iCloud to the new phone but when I get to the "Choose backup" screen I'm told "No iCloud backups are compatible with the version (7.1) on this iPhone". My previous iPhone had up to version 8.1.3. Now I'm stuck in the backup screen and can't get back to settings. How can I finish the backup and how do I get out of backup mode to possibly update to the version I need?

What you are going to need to do here is update your iPhone's version of the operating system to a version at least as new as the one on your backup - iOS 8.1.3. To do this, follow the directions in this article -
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
Specifically -
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
Once the update is complete you should be able to restore from your backup.

Why can't i change the icon in my flash drive?

I've been trying to do a simple task - but the mac won't have it.
I want to change the icons on my flash drives, using Cmd-I, then copy and paste the icon (purchased from mac), but all that comes up on the drive is a 'png' file pic.
What am I doing wrong?

Why? Simple search of project title not possible

I do not understand why a simple search of the project titles or folders is not possible. Let alone not being able to use spotlight to search for photos within an aperture library. If I take all the time to keyword within aperture then it is useless outside the program. If I have multiple libraries I have to open each one to find the image that I am looking for. Very time consuming.
Any plugins or work-arounds for this?
I would pay money to have this.

I was about to post the solution. I discovered that component but the code did not even go to DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT.
The solution was to 'Disable Cookies' (marked this checkbox in the technical profile associated with the business role).
I got the idea to try this after I came across a method get_server_cookie that could not read the cookie previously set by set_server_cookie (to this extent I came to debug .

Why has Apple decided the 3G won't have mult-tasking with the new OS 4.0

Just would like a answer if apple would re-consider enabling multi-tasking on the iphone 3G when they release OS 4.0, maybe in a limited form.
My experience is the iphone 3G will often leave applications running in the background on OS 3.x and I have to use "freememory" third party app to clean it up when the iphone becomes too slow.
This suggests to me there nothing technical why the 3G can't have multi-tasking as in away it already does do this when the applications aren't closed.
Maybe if they limit the multi tasking to 3 applications on 3G, rather then none out all, this would make me happier.

The developer response as to why FreeMemory no longer available:-
"Apple has demanded that we remove the feature to Free Memory from all our apps. We have decided to remove our existing Free Memory 1.5 and MemoryInfo 1.1 apps from sale. We have instead submitted Free Memory Lite and MemoryInfo Lite without the Free Memory feature."
So I suppose I was lucky to find the tool before Apple banned it.
It is interesting as most iphone's have 8 or 16GB of Storage RAM, but only 128MB 3G, 256 3GS of runtime RAM, and because the phones doesn't have the ability to use virtual RAM, memory is limited on iphone, this would of been a nice feature to add to OS 4.0.
My opinion is Apple decided to limit functionality so people are forced to upgrade to the latest iphone, a little cynical I suppose, but I feel is true.
The release of the OS 4.0 and not providing multi-tasking for the 3G is probably another example as it doesn't really appear to be "technically not feasible".
I feel the developers need a bill of rights, as Apple decisions to "ban" apps is too arbitrary and unfair.
Sorry for my comments about Apple policy of banning apps or limiting functionality it just my opinion, although I think it is shared by many.
To some find my comments harsh but it is in Apple interest to make all iphones the best phones in the world

If this doesn't resolve it you most likely have a hardware failure. Fortunately, your phone is in warranty, so if you take it to an Apple store they will replace it.
