Why is Siri not on ipad2!? Petition this!

I'm pretty sure the rest of you ipad2 users are wondering this as well. It is technically possible to add this feature on the ipad2. Why wasn't this included in the update? Will we see Siri on any future firmware updates for the ipad2?
Let's get Apple looking into this!

It would very helpful if discussions in this forum were focused on actual problems that need current resolution and support. Other venues exist for speculation and product improvement suggestions.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If your phone is locked with a passcode and you ask siri to read any new text message, Siri tells you to unlock it first, which you do by entering the passcode and the moment you do that Siri says 'OK' and starts reading your message without you doing anything else.
However if you have not set the passcode in your phone and if your phone is locked (which means you have yet not done 'slide to unlock') and you ask siri to read the message then you will hear nothing..there will be silence ..and then 'siri will ask you to reply or read it again'. If you want to hear the message then first slide to unlock your phone and then ask siri to read for any new text messages and you will start hearing your message.

If Siri is software, why is it not available on all iPhones? I remember when the 3GS came out and we got video but not on older phones yet there where hacks available for older phones that allowed video. Is this the same scenario where Apple is trying to force hardware upgrades in order to benefit from new software when it really isn't necessary?

Siri is not available on the iPhone for because Apple didn't make it so. None of us users here know the reason; speculation is prohibited by the Terms of Use of this forum.
Regardless of the reason, it is NOT available except for the iPhone 4S. If you want Siri badly enough, get a 4S. Complaining doesn't change anything, and none of us here really want to listen to it anyway.

I'm unable to update Firefox. operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items. I own the computer, why would I not have permission? This has happened other times and I don't know what it means.

I just wanted to update firefox and it won't let me. I drag the icon into applications, then a window ask me if I want to replace older version. I click yes and the window mentioned above appears. I purchased this computer new, I'm the only owner. Why would I not give myself permission to do something on my own computer.

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

You can't until Apple adds that capability. Right now, US only. All Apple has stated is that more countries/regions will be coming in 2012.

I love Siri, it is one of the coolest products I have ever used. But I am curious why when I ask it something like "Open my contacts" it replies with "I can't do that for you" or "I am not allowed to do that". Why would there be a restriction on Siri preventing it from opening applications?

Siri is still in beta. It is possible that Apple would like to work out the scaling issues with its Siri servers before unleashing millions and millions of users over night by making Siri availble to existing iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users.
NOTE: all of this is just an educated guess, but considering Siri users have reported Siri slowness and outages, most likely due to overloaded servers, it might be a valid reason on Apple's part.
While not exactly Siri, you can use Dragon Go to do voice entry search, and you can use a service such as reQall for voice scheduled alarms. Since the iPod Touch does not have GPS, the location based Siri reminders would not really work.

Okay. Thank you. It is still not allowing me to "teach" it to say my name. I never had this issue with my other iPod Touch. I will let you know if this problem persists.

Just purchased iphone 4S and Siri is not working. I have the most up to date software - 5.0.1 When I hold down the home button I get the voice control feature that's on previous versions. Any ideas?

It kind of sounds like Siri might not be activated. Go to Settings - General - Siri and confirm it's turned on. If it is, you might also make sure "raise to speak" is turned on, then go to your home screen and raise your phone to your ear. Does the Siri audible prompt sound?
If nothing else works, I'd do a current sync, then go to Settings - General - Reset and do a full reset. If that doesn't work, try a Restore.
