  • Why does the Adobe Acrobat DC Update Fail on a Mac Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2?

I don't have Adobe Acrobat installed anymore, yet CC is still telling me I need to update Adobe Acrobat DC. When I try to update it, it gets to 35% and fails, every time. I've tried quitting and reopening CC; quitting CC, deleting the OOBE folder in my profile, and reopening CC. Regardless, it fails. Here's the output:

  • Zen Micro - firmware update failed so now "dead"

I have a firmware problem with my Zen Micro. Can anyone help?
The series of actions I have taken so far are these:
I got my Micro in January 2006. I now want to run Audible software to listen to their books so I downloaded the firmware update L6_2_2_02.exe from the Creative support site which is stated as providing the Audible?facility.
I backed up the Micro contents using Creative MeadiaSource Organiser. I then ran the firmware update from my Win XP PC. This started OK and I got a series of messages about what was happening. Then it stopped with the progress indicator bars about 2/3 across. I left it for half an hour and nothing changed so clicked to stop the update.
I checked the firmware version on the Micro and it said 2.2.02. The update?looked OK and the FM worked but of course I had no music content.
I opened my Creative MeadiaSource Organiser (v 3.0.09) but it said no device is connected so I was unable to reload the music. My XP PC recognised the Micro as connected and I checked Device Manager which showed the "device is working properly". I was also able to synch music to the Micro using Windows Media Player and this played OK. I tried another computer and could also synch using Windows Media Player but I wanted to reload my music from the backup.
I looked on the Creative site for the steps to take when a firmware update fails. The Zen Micro is not on the list as supporting the MP3 Player Recovery Tool so I did not use that. I followed the Reload Failure recovery instructions and ran Clean UP, then Format All, but this did not fix it so I ran Reload Firmware on the Micro. This was a big mistake!
Now when I try to run the firmware update from my Win XP PC, I select English then I get the message "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". I checked again and XP still recognises the Micro and the device is working. It is no longer recognised by Windows Media Player but just? appears to XP as an empty storage device.
The Micro now shows the firmware as v 0.0.65, but now it is stuck in Recovery Mode. I have contacted Creative Support but their reply is that this player is now over 3 years old, reached its end of service life, so there is no support other than on their web site. Following their web site recovery instructions got me into this mess so I guess?no extra help is offered from Creative.
The player is now essentially dead. Unless there is some way to get the firmware update program to recognise the device as connected, then I don't know how to fix this. This is a shame as it is a nice little player for my music collection.
Can anyone help as I don't know what to do next?

I have the same problem. I put the screenshots below and the errors that happen to me.I can not put him the firmware because I do not recognize the device.

  • Firmware update failed - how to resolve remotely

I bought my father an Apple TV so he could subscribe and watch MLB. Everything was working fine until the Apple TV attempted to update itself. Apparently the firmware update failed.  I need to know how to remotely resolve this for him. I can access his PC remotely so I read some info that you can update Apple TV via iTunes. I also need to confirm that the USB socket on the Apple TV is a USB Mini type. I'm assuming you can just plug the Apple TV into a USB socket and then from iTunes initiate the firmware update, much like you do an iPad. He's not very technically savvy, so I need to do this for him or have him call Apple support.
Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

If he hasn't done so get him to do the old fashioned trick of unplugging teh mains power to it and restarting.
If it restarts correctly the update can be reattempted.
If it's truly bricked then return to Apple or restore using itunes will be necessary.

very good. You also had posted originally on the Using Apple Support Communities forum (dedicated to "How do I use this forum and find My Stuff in it?"). I had already asked our gracious Hosts to move it to Using iPhone where it now resides and will likely get more prompt attention. In the meantime, you might consider browsing and/or searching Using iPhone for similar issues as your own.
    best luck

So i can not work more. Please change immediately with a next update!! Please..

    Good day!
This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
Also I can not reproduce the issue you claim to have with 14.2 on Mac OS 10.8.5.
    What is your OS?

  • Why with the new iOS 7 update does my music rewind a second once I unlock my phone? This is really annoying and they should fix it

Why with the new iOS 7 update does my music rewind a second once I unlock my phone? This is really annoying and they should fix it

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion.  There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field.  if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it.  If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

  • HT3011 Does the 2012 iMac use 1.35V or 1.5V RAM?

A youtube video I saw recommended RAM that's 1.5V but I thought I recalled hearing the 2012 iMac suppports 1.35V.
Also, does this make any difference beyond electricity savings?

Either voltage will work. Without knowing the power consumption (not voltage) of the part its power use can not be estimated.
Just buy from a good quality vendor, OWC or Crucial are the best.

  • Some movie skipping after the 1.2 Firmware Update

I recently installed the 1.2 Firmware Update via Software Update. Since then some movie players have been skipping during play...not terribly, but just enough to be annoying. The Movie Players I am referring to are Windows Media Player (which I realize is no longer supported) and something called SWF & FLV Player (which I should still be supported, but I forget where I got it...).
Anyone know what might be causing this? Is it the Firmware update, or should I get new versions of these players (if possible)?
Thankfully, I seem to have not had the more nasty errors I just saw on these forums from the firmware update...it updated fine, and no major problems.
P.S. Anyone know if this firmware update fixed the freezing problems? I seem to freeze while doing things that are heavy on graphics (such as World of Warcraft), and I see others have too, but I have not been able to do much of that since this 1.2 update, so I don't know if it still happens...it was happening most days for me, sometimes more than once a day.

I don't know what is causing the skipping, but as far as keeping your software up-to-date, here's the latest version of SWF & FLV PLayer:
    SWF & FLV Player - 3.5.12.5925
As for Windows Media Player, it hasn't been updated since 2004 and doesn't run natively on Intel processors. Even Microsoft recommends using the Flip4Mac codecs:

  • I have an iMac G4 PowerPC with OS 10.5.? The OS10.5.8 update failed. Now get blue screen and error-can't find Intel Power Manager. What now??

I have an iMac G4 PowerPC with OS 10.5.? After deleting 17G of music files to make room on the 74G drive, The iPhoto and iWeb updates seemed to load okay, but the OS 10.5.8 update failed - message opened said the computer encountered an error and must shut down. Now I get the blue screen. Startup with 'V' pressed shows multiple lines saying: error-can't find IntelCPU Power Manager. What now?? I  reset PRAM, I think.....?????

I am concerned that you might have applied a system updated intended for an Intel iMac, while you have a PPC (non-Intel) iMac. Your PPC OS should not be looking for an "IntelCPU Power Manager."
Have you tried booting from the 10.5 install DVD/CD and repairing the hard drive, plus repairing permissions?
If you done the repairs mentioned above, and your problem still persists, you can also try doing a safe boot. (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455 ) Then, if none of these things worked, if I were in your shoes (it's hard to diagnose these things without being there in person) I would first check that there is adequate disk space, then I would boot from the 10.5 DVD/CD install disk and reinstall the operating system. There is an option to do an archive and install preserving user files/settings, that would be the option you want, as it will save your files but install a new OS. Make sure you have a good backup of your files first. If you do not have one, use "target mode" to copy all your files before embarking on an new OS install. Assuming that you do succeed with this install, then use Software Update to get the right updates for your iMac.

  • Why didn't Apple offer a 2TB or 2.2TB Fusion Drive in the 2012 iMac?

Surely Apple knew before marketing the new iMac that the 3TB HD would not work with Bootcamp, so why did they not provide at the outset a 2TB solution and place in BIG bold lettering the incompatibility between 3TB drives and Bootcamp? I've been a customer since '94 and been made to feel like a king until now when I'm made to feel like the king's fool. I've been put through so much grief (and after a five week wait) and for no good reason. Now waiting for my return to go through so I can order a unit with 1TB HD and quickly have to resort to external storage solutions.
Please offer a 2TB solution ASAP!

Thank you, varjak. I made my comment at apple.com after your direction, but they promise no response. I've not seen a single discussion where somebody suggested a 2TB solution, either. Maybe the problem will get solved without my belly aching, but I sure was needing to say something in hopes for a little relief; at least to get it off my chest.

  • What time will the 2012 iMac be released on Nov. 30

So Apple announced that the new 2012 iMac will be available this Friday, Nov. 30 and I want to know the exact time it will go on sale so I can purchase it online.
Will it be at midnight (pacific time) or like when stores open up in the morning?
    Any news/updates would be nice.
    Thanks!!

Me too, but I went with the 3 TB Fusion drive since I use VM Fusion.  I hope it delivers before Christmas!  Help me out Santa!
Your post made me slap myself
I have another Mac that has BootCamp installed and since 99.9% of my very limited windows use is performed in a Parallels window I can do that quite nicely from the new iMac.
My only need for BootCamp is for a couple of hardware items that can only have their firmware updated using an installed version of Windows--the update process won't work from within a VM window.  I can use the older Mac to update firmware if needed.  I cancelled and reordered with the 3TB Fusion drive.
Don't know about Christmas delivery.  My order says delivery Dec 24 to Dec 31.  Only time will tell.

  • Attempted Iphone 4 update to latest firmware update "failed"

Ive attempted to update the Iphone to the latest firmware update  and it has failed 3 times, the final time it looked as though
it worked but stopped and went into new mode to go-back to Restore to old  setting. Now it is locked up and asking me for the  admin backup password
and everything I've tried is not working..  Not sure what to do at this point.
The laptop I'm using is a Panasonic CF29 and running Windows XP with SP3 installed.
I'm  open to any ideas at this point.
                Thanks Artman

Then it's pretty hopeless. Normally the error message remains displayed until you click "OK", so it's surprising that you didn't see it. You can try the shotgun approach; just try a bunch of stuff in the hopes that it will work. But first I suggest trying to update it again, and this time watch it. The following list covers the most common causes of update failures:
Open a Command window and type the command "netsh   winsock   reset"
    Reboot your computer
    Disable your antivirus and firewall
    Launch iTunes
Connect the phone using a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub
When the phone is recognized in iTunes click on it, then click Restore
If the phone is NOT recognized in iTunes, disconnect it, the hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for exactly 10 seconds until the screen goes black, then release SLEEP but continue holding HOME while you connect the cable and continue holding HOME until iTunes recognizes a phone in recovery mode
If the update completes you are in business
You mentioned being prompted for a backup password. If your backup is encrypted you will need to know the password to complete the restore; if you don't know it you will have to restore as New and manually add your content back. If it is encrypted you really did enter a password for it once, whether you remember doing so or not.
