Why is the rubber part on the bottom of my computer separating from the computer? It looks like a screw is missing? Is this typical? I bought it last March.

I have 2 different MacBooks (owned by 2 people) connected to the same Time Capsule over a wifi network. I want to use the Time Capsule to back up both MacBooks separately from each other. Can one person access the hard drive of the other person, on the same Time Capsule? Is there a way to ensure that the files on the 2 laptops are kept private from each other? Thanks!

Security on a Time Capsule is a bit like installing a lock on a tent. It will keep the honest folks out, but probably not the others. -
Why does the bar code look "chubby" when I save to PDF?
Hi, I'm designing a book cover for a client in Illustrator, and it has a bar code on the back of it. When I save the file as an .ai or a .png or .jpeg, it appears fine. But when I save the file as a .pdf (which my client will be viewing, and for print), the bar code looks like the lines have gotten bigger or run together! It's really weird...no matter which preset I use, it appears like this (I've attached a screenshot). I've also tried the "flatten transparency" and converting the numbers to outlines, but they still tend to distort when the pdf is viewed.
Any suggestions on how to fix this, or why this might be happening? It scares the client when they see it....
The lines in the picture are MUCH thicker than the actual bar code, and some appear to have blended together.Hi Mike,
In the Preferences area of Adobe Reader, go to the Page Display tab, and
make sure that "Enhance thin lines" is unchecked. That seemed to solve
most of my problems with the type! Hope that works for you too!

Why is the formatting in my Contact list screwed up?
Why is the formatting in my Contacts list screwed up? The State in the address list is missing and "Netherlands" is added to all of my US addresses. This occurs after I sync in iTunes, but the Contact is listed normally in Outlook.
I am using Apple Mail. For some reason it is working right again. Who knows why!

Why does the "Computer Name" sometimes change?
Not a big deal, just curious, why does the "computer name" sometimes change?
The name will be the same, but it will add a number....2,3,4...I always change it back so it doesn't have a numeric value next to it, but just wondering why it happens.
Thanks.Can also occur after your computer is put to sleep and then wakes back up or after your computer is force quit and immediately restarted. Sometimes the router 'believes' the computer is still connected when it actually isn't. When that computer re-establishes a connection the router 'tells' the computer that a computer with that name already exists so it has to change its name. By default a computer running MacOS adds a number (or increments its number) when this happens.

Select ▹ Force Quit... from the menu bar, then select Finder and press return. From the Finder menu bar, select Finder ▹ Preferences ▹ Advanced and uncheck the box labeled Empty Trash securely. I'm a first timer on this (or any) help site. I just installed Time Capsule. The first backup looks like it will take two days at the present speed. Can I close MacBook Pro and have first back up continue, and can I unplug tomorrow and plug in at work without affecting the backup?

Time Machine backups can be paused by choosing "Stop Backing Up" from the Time Machine icon on the right hand side of your menu bar ( ). Once you're ready to resume the backup, you can choose "Back Up Now" from the same icon.
Start a backup: Click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar, then choose Back Up Now.
Pause a backup: Click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar, then choose Stop Backing Up.

After updating my iPhone4s to the lastest update my photostream stopped updated onto my comuter. From my phone it looks like pictures have been moved into the photostream folder... but they are not showing up on my computer. Help!
I have signed out then back into the cloud. I have comfirmed location of the photostream folder. I have have even restored settings on my phone. any ideas on what I can do to get it working again? or do I have to accept defect, and manually save my photos?There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.

Why can't I transfer my itunes kibrary from old computer to my new one?
I am trying to get my old library onto my new computer and the best way for me to do that is take them off of my I Phone 3gs and "transfer purchases" but when I try it the "authorize this computer " shows up and it is already authorized! So I still give my info, and it tells me this computer is already authorized and then does nothing. It keeps going on like that, it's a frustrating circle!

Simply copy the entire /Music/iTUnes folder from old computer to new computer. -

This worked for me when I ran into the same issue (can scroll through rented movie but can't play it). Just switch iTunes to the MiniPlayer (in the Window menu) and then back to the normal player. Apparently, you may need to do this a few times. It sounds odd (and I didn't really expect it to work), but it fixed the problem for me. -
My new iMac has recently had OSX Lion installed on it and now when I start the machine it looks like its updating something every time, and the wireless doesn't work. So I restart and everything is OK - until I have to start up again the next time - then I have to repeat this again! Any help appreciated.
I've been having the same issue, but have just discovered something on my own that hasn't been pointed out in any of the forums I've visited. In what I thought would be a vain attempt to help myself, I went to System Preferences, Users & Groups, and then clicked on Login Items. I discovered that one of the Items that was listed to open automatically upon login was iTunes Helper and that there was an exclamation point beside it indicating that it was incompatible. I simply deleted that item and now I don't have the situation you described and my wireless is connected. Hope this helps!
