Why is the creation of iTunes U courses limited to Universities, K-12 schools, etc?

Especially with the newly integrated features with the new iBooks...I would LOVE to use this feature to write courses as an individual or as a representative of a group that's not "official" in the sense that Apple seems to be striving for.
Do we know why Apple created this distinction? Is there a way to have a unofficial or "ammature" account of some sort?

I'd definitely love to see iTunes U open to individuals or organizations, merely for the software and platform capabilities. It'd be really helpful.
In the mean time, maybe individuals can create a combination of interactive textbooks and Podcasts as a work around? I'm not sure if the new iBookstore has any changes in their submission policies for iBook authors.
This is exactly why I want to be able to use iTunes U, for the software/platform capabilities. The way it so nicely ties a variety of things together allowing for an easy way to convey a variety of multi-media information on a single topic to people.
I understand that Apple probably has the current restrictions in place to ensure that the information in their courses is valid, but I'd LOVE to see them institute an "ammature" or "unverified" level or something. I wouldn't care if they totally put it in a different section from the "professional" accounts and/or if they clearly mark any content by these accounts as "ammature" or "unverified" or whatever. I just want to access the software capabilities to consolidate & share the information in such a well organized way.
I guess I need to look into their submission policies that you're talking about for iBook authors. I just assumed that the iBooks would be a possibility.

Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.

Why is the text on itunes squashed and compacted?

For some reason, all of the text on itunes is very small and overlap each other. Not sure why this happens but it is very annoying and blocks some of the features. The picture is an example of what I mean.

Another example from the Stairlifts.html page where <b><font><u>....<font><u></b> appears and even if corrected wouldn't be closed in the correct order.

Not that I'm aware of. 3rd party apps don't have access to private iPhone API's for some good reasons with security being an important one, which such a 3rd party app world require.

Why is the volume for iTunes occasionally lowering?

I notice that iTunes' volume seems to lower itself.
It will happen randomly and then I have to open up the volume mixer and bring iTunes' volume back up.
What is causing this? At first I thought it was when I was plugging in USB devices because that's when it seems to happen most of the time... but there are occasions where it does it on its own for no reason that I can think of. Today alone I had to bring the volume back up maybe 5 times while listening to some music during cleaning.
All other audio on my PC seems to work fine...
Any one else experience this?

First check and make sure the volume in iTunes is up. At the top of iTunes where you see the play button, to the side of that is a slider bar, this is the volume make sure its slided all the way to the right. Next check your EQ setting. in the lower right corner of iTunes look for the lil button with the vertical slider bars, hit it and it will open the EQ setting, by default its on "Flat" you can change it to Rock,Dance, ect ect whichever sounds best to you while playing a song

Why is the management of iTunes on the iPhone so coarse and unforgivably hard to navigate?

Am I alone here? Why is it so difficult for me to manage what files I want to be immediately accessible on my phone, while the rest remain safely on my computer. Why can I not connect my phone to my computer without an immediate syncing of both devices withouut wasting both my time and space on my phone? Also, am I missing a way to easily remove large amounts of music files from my iPhone (at least by album) without going on a file by file basis?

If you don't want automatic syncing when you connect you can disable that in the iTunes Preferences

Why did the songs disappear iTunes?

ok, iTunes only allows 5 devices to be authorized per account. Recently I purchased and iPad and now between me and my wife we have 6 devices (2 pcs, 2 iPhones and 2 iPads). Most of our music is DRM free, i.e. we imported it from CDs or bought it off Amazon or some other site and imported it to iTunes. Some of the mp3s were bought from iTunes and in order to play the ones that are DRM protected (about 30 tracks) the device needs to be "authorized" through the iTunes store. Since we have six devices I decided to just let my wife take ownership of the old account and I would create a new account for myself and repurchase the 30 tracks that require "authorization" through the Apple store under my new Apple ID. Yesterday I went through and made a note ( "NOAUTH") in the Comment field of each of the songs that wouldn't play so I could purchase the songs. Today I went to make a list of the songs so I could start the purchase process and all the songs that I had marked as "NOAUTH" are gone!! Did iTunes delete them?

Nobody likes replying to posts like this - if you've searched all your hard drives and the music files are gone, then they're gone.
I assume you looked in the Recycle Bin and did a Win Explorer search instead of just looking in the known folders?
Who knows why this happened! Disasters like this usually convince folks to make regular backups.

Why are the songs in iTunes randomly stoping and starting?

Is it due to the processing power of my laptop? Because it has only been happening the past day or so and coincidently enough, my laptop has been getting slower and taking a longer time to load things than usual.
Now just as I'm writing this, iTunes seems to be trying to prove me wrong and is not stopping and starting songs randomly, but just for future referenc,e anyone know what the cause of the problem is?

Is this on a computer or iOS device?
iPods can change the playback speeds, but in iTunes on desktop/laptop, it could be caused by other programs.

Why is the option "Open ITunes when this iPad is connected" dimmed?

It's an original iPad running the latest iOS. My host iMac is running MacOS 10.6.8.

I have the same issue but my Itunes opens up when I connect my Iphone. I do not want it to open up. I just want to charge my phone with the usb and only have itunes open when I want it to. How can I turn this off? It seems the box in the options is unchecked and greyed out so as to be unavailable anyways.

Why use the ever "hackable" itunes?

For me, the answer was at first simple: itunes was convenient and at first, a real bargin. Several years later I hold a different opinion because my account has been hacked twice. My first thoughts would be interference.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

Why has the 11.4 iTunes update deleted my purchased music?

All my purchased music is gone after the update. I have searched and searched; it is nowhere on my computer and I am NOT going to pay $25 for cloud membership so I can listen to music I already paid for!!!! I don't love Mac anymore.
