Why is the dispay on my nano upside down?

why is the display on my nano upside down?

Because you rotated it. Using two fingers in opposite corners of the screen, use a rotating motion as if you are trying to rotate the display with your finegers. It will rotate with your motion.

  • When I take a picture with my IPhone and send it to my home computer, why do the pictures turn sideways or upside down (it's an HP windows computer)

When I take a picture with my IPhone and send it to my home computer (HP Windows) why does the picture turn out sideways or upside down?

OK, here's the explanation.  When you take a picture, the iPhone knows what orientation it is in (portrait, landscape, etc.) and adds that information to the picture's EXIF data so it knows which side is up.  Apple devices can decode this information and show the picture right side up when it is viewed.  However, Windows computers cannot do this.  They are not capable of decoding the orientation information added by the iPhone, so they are displayed in a default orientation (which may not be right side up).
This only happens on Windows machines, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it, except use the rotation buttons in Windows picture view to orient the photo correctly.

  • Why does the 7th generation ipod nano not have games

I want to know why the 7th generation ipod nano does not come with:
    1- games
    2- voice memo

    1. The iPod Nano runs the Pixi operating system, not iOS and has too small a screen for displaying the game and controlling it.

  • Why is the Apple Developer Program Enrolment still down?

I have been trying for over a week to enrol as a developer. After selcting the appropriate options for individual enrolment, the page came up with an offline window, stating something about being hacked or some such. I then attended the Adobe Create Now roadshow as we are getting into using Muse etc so went back last week to get a similar result, showing a status page with the program enrolment still offline.
Why and how so wil this be fixed, we need to get making apps?

I hope Apple look at this very soon, I've been searching blogs all over the show and see no discussion around this so wondered if somehow I was just an isolated case, or doing something stupid, but alas no.
Apple, please hurry up, we have made poromises we can no longer keep!

  • Why does my mouse scroll wheel work upside down?

I have a Logitech portable mouse attached to my Macbook Pro and the scroll wheel works backward so when I pull down on the wheel the page does up and vice versa.  Is it me or is there a setting in my Mac I need to reverse?

Thank you Ralph. In my Mac I had a box that said, "Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating and it was checked.  As soon as I unchecked the box, the problem was solved.

  • Why are my newly added playlists upside down?

Just this week, I've noticed that my newly added playlists are importing from the file folders on my hard drive to the iTunes and iPod Touch upside down. I accepted an Apple pushed update sometime last week and hadn't noticed anything funny with the playlists until I added a few new ones this week.
I updated my iTunes to the latest available as of last week and my iPod Touch states that its current version is 4.2.1 (8C148).  I've been reading that iO5 has been having this issue since its release late last year and iTunes intermittently over the past few years going back to 2007 with various version updates; yet, no one had a solution until another update is released.
Since I have a Gen2 iPod Touch, I didn't think that my firmware could be updated to iO5, which contains this upside issue with the playlists.  But apparently, implements of iO5 exists in the latest 4.2.1 update which causes this issue.
When looking at the list of songs in iTunes, the newly added songs, even with the correct order of tracks, 1 of 18, 2 of 18, etc, written into the properties of each track, they do not show up properly in the song list.  I have to create a playlist and move the songs over and then manually reorder the songs.  With the iPod Touch, which is weird, the songs move over in order from the playlist created in iTunes, and are visibly in order, but when I access the playlist on the device when not docked to a computer, the songs are in upside down order.  Even when I manually Edit the playlist on the device and correct the issue and save the change, after docking the device to my computer, the songs will revert back to upside down order on the device, but visibly looks fine (correct order) in iTunes and the playlist when the device is still plugged into the computer.
Does anyone know why this problem exists and what I could do as a workaround to resolve this upside down issue with playlists?

Think of the arrow pointing from large to small, so the wide fat or large end of the arrow is at the top and the sharp pointy or small end is at the bottom. So it will sort from large to small and alaphbetically Z is larger than A. Click the Name bar and the arrow will reverse with sharp pointy end, small, at the top and large fat end at the bottom so it will now sort A to Z, as A is deemed to be smaller than Z.
    Hope that helps?
    Phil

  • Upside down arboard to print double-sided - why?

In illustrator, when I have two artboards to create a double-sided document, the second one must be upside down for both sides on my print-out to be pointing the same way.
Is that normal? and if yes, why this quirk?

such things probably depend more on your print settings than illustrator.

  • Why is the headphone jack on the bottom?

I was really excited for the iPhone 5 but now I don't think I'll be getting one.  For me, changing the location of the headphone jack is entirely unnecessary.  I've been reading up on this, and the only reason I can find for it is because people say it's more "natural" to put their phone in their pocket upside down; this doesn't make any sense to me!  Is it really that hard to move your arm straight down to your pocket with your wrist straight instead of only rotating your elbow?  I find it irritating that I would have to store the phone upside down in my pocket, and that would just make it harder to adjust the volume or flick the vibrate on without taking it out of my pocket.  That's something I do all the time: walk into a classroom or theater, and need to make sure my phone is on silent without pulling it out and drawing attention to myself.
I also get that you can lay the phone flat on a desk and have the headphone cord hang off the edge.  But what about when I have the phone propped up?  I guess I can't do that anymore.  I also can't leave it upright in a cupholder while I drive.
I've been an iPhone user because I like how professional and uniform Apple products look.  But storing and displaying my phone upside down destroys that asthetic for me.  I know some people will say that orientation is a stupid thing to quibble about, but Steve Jobs was known to obsess over far smaller things (I'm not saying this was one of them), and that's what makes Apple products so well thought-out.
So what is the point of putting the headphone jack on the bottom?  Can anyone give me a real reason that I can support?  I really want to be able to get excited about this phone, but at this point I think it's unfortunately a deal-breaker for me.

Goldplatedrock, i agree with you. This is not an over reaction. Steve Jobs was meticulous with design and usability - and i am sure he would NOT have accepted the headphone jack going to the bottom. He was known to scrap designs 6 weeks before the first iphone was about to hit the market.
It really is a a terrible move but i think they had to move it for engineering reasons.
It has even been moved on the new ipod touch.
Think of all the car holders and desk docking stations that will not be able to be used when wanting to keep the headphones connected. Plus upside down in your pocket? - that really *****.
I also wonder how the new lightining connector will hold up the whole phone with accessories like speakers - it will not be able to hold it up.
    Steve come back..............

  • Using brochure template, the second side prints upside down.  How to fix?

When using the brochure template how does one correct the back page from printing upside down?

    Hi,
From the application used to print open the printer dialog, then click on ettings or Preferences to access to Printig Preferences dialog.
Within the Layout tab change the Print on both sides option.
For a portrait oriented document select Flip on Long Edge, for a Landscape one select Flip on Short Edge, then it will print as expected.

  • Upside down camera & the usual fix does not seem to be working

    Hey there,
So I'm one of those "lucky" owners of an Asus laptop with a camera (F3jp-ap098c) installed upside down, and so when I run Skype, or anything that uses the camera feed, it's upside down.
The usual fix you can find on the net is:
    * install multilib/lib32-v4l-utils
    * run skype with LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
But when I do that, I get
ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.
and then skype proceeds executing like nothing happened and I still got my camera wrong.
Any ideas about what I could be doing wrong? (I am running x86_64)

Just to double check you have https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … 4/v4l2ucp/
And the location is correct?  The file exists at /usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so ?  If yes have you tried loading v4l2convert.so instead?  Just going off what I see online here but thought it might help.

  • How to make iCloud photostream show upside down photos in correct orientation

My question is related to iPhone 5s/iOS 7.1.2, Camera.app, iPhoto 9.5.1 (902.17) for Mac, iCloud shared Photostream.
I have taken photos with iPhone 5s upside down (using volume buttons, i.e. Home button on the left) and loaded them on my Mac (MacBook Pro 15” mid 2012 with OS X 10.9.4 with iPhoto). I copied the photos from the iPhoto photostream into iPhoto library in an album of their own and rotated the upside photos in the correct orientation. Then I shared the photos in iCloud and the photos which I had roated to correct orientation where once again upside down. And when I drag&drop the photo (which has the corrected orientation) from iPhoto library album into a Finder folder the photo is once again upside down when I open it with Preview.
I have a notion that all Apple software on Mac shows correctly the iPhone upside photos (because it reads the photo metada) and practically all non-Apple software both on Mac and PC doesn’t use iPhone photos’ metadata and show the photos upside down.
Is there any way to make iCloud show the  shared photos in correct orientation in the browser without rotating the photo with external application in iPhoto or is there a bug in iCloud or is the iPhoto rotation a "fake rotation"? I want to ensure that people with whom I share the photos, see it always in the correct orientation (no matter what the platform is) so that they don’t have to struggle with rotating of the stuff and I don’t have to take extra steps to rotate the upside down photos outside iPhoto.
N.B. 1: I understand that in the future I always have to shoot photos and videos with iPhone Home-button on the rigth side (i.e. volume buttons pointind down). My question is related to the photos I have already taken.
N.B. 2: I just learned that when I rotate the photo with Preview, throw it back into iPhoto library album and then add the rotated photo in the shared stream, it is in the correct orentation in iCloud. However, I want to avoid this extra step

That's the answer to your question. Why is it you want to avoid this?
Because it is an extra step. So, I already rotated the photo with iPhoto's rotation functionality, but the rotated photo is upside down in iCloud photostream. I think it should stay rotated when shared in iCloud. The other problem is that if I forgot to rotate the photo before sharing it in photostream, I have to delete the photo from the photostream and add a rotated version from the iPhoto library in photostream and now the order of the photos is incorrect. iCloud adds the last shared photo as the first photo in the stream. At least I haven't found a way to place the new photo in its original (the correct) palce in the stream.
