Why is the earpiece volume so low

for some reason, I can barely head on my iphone ear piece. I have to use the speaker to hear anyone

Yes, you can use the volume buttons on the left-hand side of the phone to raise/lower the volume while on speakerphone.  Is the volume all the way up?

Well, my volume control certainly does influence the start up chime and I cannot see why yours shouldn't.   Use keyboard buttons F11 and F12 to adjust your sound level last thing at night and if your machine auto starts in the morning it will not wake the household.
True, if volume control is turned down to a lower level, you would have to adjust it for other sound output that you do want later, iTunes and videos on browsers etc, but it requires little effort.

  • Why is the speakerphone volume so low?

I was using the speakerphone feature during a call and I could barely  hear the caller. Is there a way to change the speaker phone volume?

  • Earpiece volume turn low

without any notice the earpiece volume turn low after normal call and I tried to raise the volume up or down from the side botton and restart the phone but it didn't change anythings for next couple calls (the speaker volume was running normal)and it get back to normal after few calls with no reason, is there anybody have this problem before and know why it happen and by the way my Siri app. also start by itself continously during working on the phone any explaination.

The 3GS is my first iPhone and I have to agree that the volume is quite often much too low for my liking. I have noticed that it's not always, just more often than not. This goes for both the earpiece and the speakerphone. Volume through bluetooth is fine. My hearing is good.
After speaking to a couple of friends who just got the 3GS they all say the same thing, making me think that the volume is where it's supposed to be, but it's just too low for what I'd like it to be. For example, it's fine if I'm in a quite area (volume maxed out), but if there's any sort of background noise it becomes very difficult to hear the other person.
Unfortunately, I don't have any fixes, but if anybody else does, it would be much appreciated here as well!!

  • Brand new iPhone 5s earpiece volume very low while making/receiving calls

I bought an iPhone 5s yesterday, set it up and updated it to iOS 7.0.3 and much to my dismay I tried to make a call and the earpiece volume is extremely low. Is there a simple fix for this or some sort of explanation or should I book an appointment at the apple store and ask for a replacement. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

    This is not normal.
Take it in to any Apple Storev for evaluation.

Are you also using the same Apple ID for FaceTime, as listed under Settings > FaceTime?
If so, don't.  While it's perfectly okay to share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store, you shouldn't share an Apple ID with another person for the following:
    iCloud
    FaceTime
    Messages
Use a unique personal Apple ID.  Whoever is the actual owner of the current Apple ID needs to keep using that.  The other person needs to make their own Apple ID, and use that for iCloud, FaceTime & Messages.  Maybe even Game Center to be on the safe side.

  • How do you adjust the earpiece volume on my 5s, the   button has no effect? Is it as I suspect, the phone is faulty or am I missing a trick somewhere?

    Thank you for the reply.
ctrl B makes the top bar (File. Edit. View. Controls. Store. Help.) appear and disappear.
ctrl S makes a side bar appear on the left side of iTunes. It shows the library which has Music. Movies. TV Shows. Apps. Playlists. Ect.
When I did the steps you suggested, my iPhone did not show up in that list.
I checked my firewall settings again, and they seem to be okay. My firewall is the only thing that I am not 100% sure of. If I go to Control Pannel>System and Security>Windows Firewall>Allow an app through Windows Firewall. It shows that iTunes is allowed. I'm not sure if something else might need to be allowed as well though. I have a few Remote options that are not allowed such as, Remote Event Log Management, Remote Scheduled Tasks Management, Remote Shutdown, Remote Volume Management, and Routing and Remote Access. I'm not sure if any of these need to be allowed or not, or if they are even affiliated with iTunes.

  • Why does the ringer volume display frequently on 3gs

Why does the ringer volume keep displaying on my 3gs? Seems it may do this when the phone is picked up or shaken.

This just happened to me today. The ringer volume display just remains on screen. Tried hard rese, nothing. It happened right after I dropped my 3GS - of which I've done many times but had not affected it because of the silicone case taking the brunt of the shock. Hope someone has a solution to this.

  • I am on my 3rd iPhone 4s since March due to the earpiece volume going bad.

I am on my 3rd iPhone 4s since March due to the earpiece volume going bad. Now the one I have (since early september) is starting to dwindle...am i doing something wrong, or do I really keep getting bad phones?? I am getting frustrated! I never had this issue w/ any other phones before! I have the apple care plan, so they have just given me a new phone each time, but are they just going to continue to do this?

All you can do is take it back.

  • IPhone5 earpiece volume very low

i have the volume maxed out & I removed the screen film protector the first day.  if i'm in a quiet room, then i can hear clearly with the max setting.  however, if i'm outside i miss half the other people's words, and i'll add that i not only have perfect hearing but it's so hypersensitive i can hear a pin drop in the next building over.  the problem is with background noise max volume is way too low.  my 10 yr old LG phone Medium volume (what i normally used when outside) was louder than Max volume on the iPhone5. this is a joke. technology 10 yrs later on Apple's flagship iPhone model should be a drastic improvement!  for the price of this iPhone the most important feature is missing.  what's the point of a phone if you can barely hear the person you're talking to?  i talked to a couple friends who have iPhones and they said the same thing, so it's not a hardware glitch specific to my device.
i've spent hours looking for a solution, tried several apps under the search terms "Volume boost" & "Volume up", plenty of apps show up but none of them work for this purpose.  there has to be a way to increase the internal volume setting for all speakers.
    anyone?

I have fixed it believe it or not?
What I'm about to say is totally crazy and no one should try this if they have the same problem!
    Ok are you ready?
As I got to a stage where I almost want to smash my phone, somehow an angel in me came out and said "why don't you just tap it against the table first before you hammer it?". I told you it's crazy... and please don't ask me how hard I tap it?

  • Why is the PPA discount so low??

I am a member of PPA and as such, we get certain discounts for Apple, but I am wondering why the discount for the iPad is only 8 dollars.  Is this correct?  To me it doesn't seem like much of a discount, doesn't even cover tax.  Can someone confirm this?

  • DW template - why is the main content div lower than the columns?

I'm looking to use the DW template with 3 columns, a header and footer and have a couple of queries:
There is a gap between the header div and the main content div which does not appear to be a margin or padding.  Why is the gap there?
Is it possible to remove this gap and have the main content div flush against the header div (like the 2 side bar divs)?

I don't have access to CS4 so cannot really determine what might be causing the gap.  My suspicion, however, is that it's an escaping margin that is pushing the two divs apart.  Try this - run a 1px solid border along the top of the main content div, e.g.,
    div.content {
         border-top:1px solid white;
Does that gap go away with the border in place?  If so, then the top margin on the first child of that div is the culprit. The first child in that content div is usually an H1 tag.

  • Iphone 4: why is the ringtone volume louder than playing music?

i have a custom ring tone on my i4. i just happened to realize this, but when i played a song from my phone in the ipod section, it doesn't sound as loud as the ringtone version of it.
why. is. this??? oh please tell me there's a way to adjust the volume so the songs in my phones library can sound as loud as the ring tone. and i mean, it's considerably louder.
why on earth don't the songs play that loud in the FIRST place???

The song will fade out completely before the ringtone starts. On top of that you might have the vibration catching your attention and/or notice the display lighting up with the caller's info. Plus if you let it ring for some time the ringtone might loop, further catching your attention.
    Cheers
