Why is the Error Code 0x8002006E While Burning the Disc?

Hey there! I don't seem to get through this Issue. I was trying to burn content to a Disc and it failed with the error code 0x8002006E, while the process was almost complete. I came across a few forums and nothing helped much to resolve this problem. Is there someone who knows the exact cause? Is this is a known-issue or anything already being addressed by Apple? Or a work-around to get this resolved? because i also read (did not try) that no third-party applications, as an alternative, solved this Issue. Disappointed! Help!
Model: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011)
OS: Lion OS X 10.7.4
I have the latest software updates and Firmware updates installed.

The few solution that where found where by calling at Apple and get technical support. There are a few solutions that might work.
The first one would be Go to users > your computer name / user name > library > Preferences > com.apple.finder.plist and delete this file. Also it’s advised to keep the burn speed at 8x.
The second solution found that Apple technical support gave is to unplug everything, including the AC power cord and then remove the battery. Press the power button for 10 seconds without replacing the battery or attaching the AC power cord and after the 10 seconds are up replace the battery. After the battery is in slot hold down the following keys with the left hand: Option + Apple (command) + R and with the right hand hold down the following keys: P + Power Button. You will need to hold all 5 of these buttons at the same time until you hear both sets of startup chimes Release all of the 5 buttons after you hear the two startup chime sounds.

Why I encountered error code 50 while installing the app?

I was using the trial version and just purchased the app via online. However ,when I try to install the desktop app, it shows error code 50 in which it encountered issue while installing.

For Windows :
1)End all Adobe process from Task Manager
2) Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
3) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder. [ Important step]

Cd/DVD not burning. Error Code 0x8002006E when burning DVD's

I have a MacBook Black and am trying to burn cd's and dvd's. I have tried multiple brands of DVD and CD and can get the cd's to burn once in a while with a microboards printable cd. When they don't burn I get either an error saying something about not being able to calibrate laser power, or it goes through like it's burning and shows up on the desktop, but when I go to open the disk, there is nothing on it. DVD's never finish, giving me the error code 0x8002006E. It will also not read any DVDr's on the machine. Stamped DVD's (store bought)are fine, but multiple brands of DVDr will not read. All of the burned DVD's I have are personal movies and music videos that I made on the machine. Anyone have any suggestions? Is my superdrive toast?

You can check in system profile and select disc burning to verify what cd/dvds are readable by your superdrive....Also with that error message you can try removing any extra ram chip installed, with that model powerbook it also has onboard ram built into logic...being a disc reading problem id say its the superdrive itself, you can try cleaning the lens with those cleaning discs you buy from electronic stores..Burn disc whilst running on power adaptor and not battery...

I've had a problem with my SuperDrive burning DVD's. I succeeded in burning CD's a while ago, but DVD's now. The error message 0X8002006D is popping up. What's does the error code mean? Could the laserlens be dirty or...?

Maybe your firewall or security software are preventing the download from finishing. You could try disabling them until you finish the download

Error code "-1" while updating the iOS from IPAD2

When I try to update my IPAD2 to iOS 4.3.2 I receive the error code "-1" at the end of the installation, and now I´m stuck in the restore point, because the system don´t boot anymore. When I connect to Itunes it says I have to download the update, then the error appear again, and this is going over and over... Any hints here?

Error code 2131042562 while burning a disk

After having burned a dozen disks (Verbatim) in different projects, I got error code 2131042562 at my last project. There are a number of discussions on this forum referring to this error code and it seems there is no proper answer to why this error code arises. So I would like to give some information about what caused this error code in my case. As all of my previous projects could be burned without problems, the only thing different in my last project was adding pictures (stills) in the disk menus. After removing these pictures (exported frameshots from within the project) the burning did not cause any problems any more.
So is was not due to the brand of the disks and I did not have to use other burning-software. I do not know why these pictures caused the problem and I find it very akward and annoying that there is no possibility in Premiere to scan the project for errors previous to burning, it would save me a lot of time and useless disks.

I tried to create a DVD-VIDEO similar to yours. Unfortunately all burned to disc without problems.
If you have overlapping objects on the menu, you should have noticed the objects as red lined when you were working in the menu. But even if you ignored the red lined objects at that phase of the project.....
If you preview your menu before moving on to burn to disc DVD and have overlapping objects in the menu, you will get a pop up telling you such. Since you have not mentioned that, I am assuming you do not have overlapping objects in the menu, and we can rule that out for now.
The bmp image format insertion did not seem to create a problem for me.
As part of the troubleshooting system, have you:
a. tried a different menu?
b. have you gone over computer/Premiere Elements maintenance and have you have already gone through the typical drill of replace brand/type DVD disc, update burner firmware, and the like....in terms of computer maintenance, I am thinking of defragmentation, clearing out Premiere Elements preview files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files.
c. That 2131042562 error seems to be a generalized one.
We will keep thinking about this as we await further developments from you regarding your project troubleshooting.

I understand the frustration when you are unable downloading content from the iTunes Store. I would start with this section of the following article.

This can happen when a connection timeout occurs while you're downloading purchased content from the iTunes Store. For example, certain types of software may affect how a computer sends and receives information from the Internet:
Firewalls
Web Accelerators
Ad Filters
Virus Protection Software
Resolution
If you have any of the software listed above and you can't access the iTunes Store or complete your download, you'll need to configure the software to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet and to allow the following domains to send and receive data from the Internet:
itunes.apple.com
ax.itunes.apple.com
albert.apple.com
gs.apple.com
deimos3.apple.com
phobos.apple.com
Refer to the documentation that came with that software and, if necessary, contact the software's manufacturer.
You can also try these steps:
If a web accelerator could be causing the issue, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the software manufacturer.
If your computer is on a network, try using a different computer on the network or discussing the issue with the network administrator.
If needed, there are further steps including those for Windows 8 in this section.

always was able to burn. Now if I put more than a little amount burn fails with error code# 6

Firstly you can't burn DVDs from iMovie!
Under OS 9 Error 6 was an overflow error, although I can't confirm its the same under OS X it sounds like it could be a buffer overflow issue in iDVD. This would mean that the computer cannot supply the data to the drive quickly enough. Try the following things (which admittedly are undesirable but may be neccesary):
Close down all Applications not directly involved in what you're doing to free up processor time and memory.
Burn at a lower speed (choose 1x or 2x rather than 4 x).
Try different media those PC World branded disc may not be as good as a Verbatim.

I have not a direct experience on distribution kit, but the error seems related to the absence of NI-DMM 3.0.2 disk in your CD reader (D: could it be the cause?

I am having trouble ejecting a disk that got a code error on it. I do not know the error code. I did the restart and hold the mouse down and it ejected. Inserted another disk and this got an error code on it too. However I can't get this disk to eject

Having trouble ejecting a disk. I tried all the suggestions on the help list. to no avail.

Was this on the help list:
1 - open the Terminal application (in the Applications/Utilities folder).
2 - enter
drutil tray eject 1
followed by the Enter or Return key.

Hi, I am running the latest Lion update, on my MB Pro, and keep getting the error code 0x8002006E when trying to burn a DVD. Could this be a dirty lens issue in the drive. I see that many others have had the same problem, but relly cant seem to find anyone that has a solution that works.. Help

I don't think there's one single cause for this error. It might be a dirty lens. It might be something else. Not all recordable optical discs work well with all burners. Try a different brand.

Error code 0x8002006e burn issue

Hi, I have read all the threads on this issue and no answer.
Apparently this is happening a lot. I have burned one cd-r that worked on my new mac pro, (month old) and now I cannot burn anymore without the error code 0x8002006e unable to verify. I can although reinsert the disk and it will read and can open random files, but who trusts a disk with errors??
I have shut down all programs to burn the disk and have restarted my finder.
I've used Sony CD-R's and Memorex DVD-R which both worked fine on Tiger on my other computer,my pc dell laptop and my external duplicator.
Running 10.5.2 all updated installed.
I have wasted about 7 cd-r / dvd-r both. I have the standard superdrive from apple, and I have installed a pioneer from an old imac g4, (apple techs said it was compatible), and received the error in both drives. I can burn via my external lightscribe duplicator and it works great.
Apple doesn't reopen until Monday and hopefully it's an issue that can be resolved now.
Any suggestions would be wonderful!!! Unfortunately the nearest Apple store is 2 hours away

I'm having this problem with CD-Rs on my new iMac. So far 3 good burns from the Finder against 5 bad. The first 4 failures died with 0x8002006E and the most recent with "Burning the disc failed because communication to the disc drive failed. (Error code 0x80020022)". Visually all the burns failed with about the same amount of the diskwritten. The DiscRecording.log visible in the Console app shows the writes failing at the same spot (except for the first which is a nonsense number):
+Finder: Write (10), block: 4294967146, count: 32 -> 3/0C/00 Medium Error, Write error+
+Finder: Write (10), block: 94240, count: 32 -> 3/0C/00 Medium Error, Write error+

The last failure showed this:
+Finder: Burn sense: 4/09/01 Hardware Error, Tracking servo failure+

Which is beginning to look like a hardware or firmware failure (some other forums seem to suggesting that the problem started with a firmware upgrade). I'll be checking with Apple support directly.
One other oddity, I've tried selecting 8x burn speed - the default is 24x - but DiscRecording.log records this in every case:
+Finder: Requested burn speed was max, actual burn speed is 24x.+
For the record I'm not using a particularly reputable brand of media (Infiniti's from www.medea.co.uk, bought locally) because I thought I'd start with the cheap ones and work up. Messages in this forum and others suggest that the 0x8002006e problem occurs with all brands of media so I'm not confident that upgrading would fix the problem.

I bought the labVIEW RT software and the hardware.It included the LabVIEW6.1 FDS.
I got the error code,and I let the install program go on.After the install completed,I found my LabVIEW worked well expect the DAQ palette.there are no "data acquisition" palette.
When I installed it in windows XP(chinese) on the same computer,Everything was good.And when I installed it in windows2000 professional(chinese) on another computer,the same error code appeared.

It appears that LabVIEW DAQ support was not installed.
Run the installer from the CD, choose custom install, and make sure that the DAQ driver installation is checked as well as support for LabVIEW 6.1.
If it is checked (indicating it was installed) then try uninstalling just the driver portions and reinstalling it.
