Why is the GTX470/480 giving me the same performance as the old GTX 285?

Just love Adobe CS5 but still has some questions?
Starting this thread because I would like to know why Fermi series is not fully utilized inside Adobe?
For example, why is the GTX470/480 giving me the same performance as the old GTX 285?
Is this problem at Adobe or Nvidia or both?
Will this change in the future upcoming update from Adobe/Nvidia?

Hello my Adobe friends, I love Adobe so don't get me wrong here:-)
This is my system:
Intel i7 920
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 (X58 chipset)
Corsair 12GB (1600MHz)
Adaptec 3085 raid card with 4 x 1000GB Seagate in a raid 5
Nvidia GTX470 with the latest driver
AJA Kona LHi
C disk Intel SSD G2 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with latest driver
Adobe CS5 with al the latest update inkl 5.0.2.
Just read this from dvinfo Adobe and our friend Harm Millaard, so I can not be that wrong about it?

What does that mean?
First of all that at this moment in time there is no performance difference noticeable between a GTX-285 and a GTX-480, tested on the same system. This despite more than double the cores and double the width of the memory bus of the 480 over the 285.
At this moment the conclusion may be that the 460 is the most attractively priced MPE card with the same performance as the 480.
However, it is to be expected that when MPE get's more mature, it will use available cores more efficiently. Just like the threading on certain processes in CS5 that is far from optimal, causing much more latency in the communication between CPU - RAM - GPU - VRAM and back, especially on hexa cores.
Threading is a major factor for performance gains, both in the CPU and in the GPU. Therefore I expect that in time the 470 or 480 will be a much better choice than the 460".

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

Does the SWF need to be in same directory as the HTML?
I'm relatively new at Flash, so apologies if my question has
an obvious answer... I've searched the newsgroups and other forums
and haven't found anything similar. Here's my problem:
- when my html doc is in the same directory as the swf file,
the movie appears and plays fine in my browser
- when my html doc is in a different directory as the swf
file (but calls the swf using the correct path), the movie doesn't
appear.
The exact html file that works when it's in the same
directory as the swf doesn't work when it's moved out of the
directory(and the path to the swf modified correctly)... This
problem doesn't occur with a different swf file (inherited from
another designer).
I use Flash MX2004 for Mac.
I've tried publishing to Player 6, 7, actionscript 1.0,
actionscript 2.0 with no difference in results.
Is this strange situation a Flash-on-Mac thing, or is there
some setting or parameter that I can set to resolve this?
Leif1) the swf is not neccesary to be at same directory with html
2) when you load a swf from different directory, and you load
other swf into the main swf, all path are relative to the html, but
not swf.
3) it is nothing about what version of flash or what platform
you are using. -

5c is activated and live on Verizon. Call, txts, and data. Issue is that 5c thinks that is is NOT activated - keeping getting pop up warnings. Operationally this prevents me from using v-mail via iPhone app - i need to dial Verizon directly. This phone is new and activated yesterday. Any ideas?
Contact Verizon to troubleshoot the issue with them.

ok, right now if I want to go to a new website from previous I can only get one of two options, either have it appear as a new tab or a new floating window, I want the browser to simply replace the existing webpage with the new one and if I want to go back to previous website I click the back arrow.

The end of the problem tracks won't play at all without skipping to the next track - even moving the slider to fast forward to the second half of the track, it will just skip to the next track.
I've tried clicking on track info and checking/unchecking the start and finish times of said tracks as others suggested, which hasn't solved the problem. The files are not corrupted.I'm having the same issue with a few songs I just downloaded. It skips randomly in the middle of the song.

Why can't I donwload Tin Tin movie trailer? Or The Rise of the Apes trailer?
Why is it that when I go into iTunes store to Theatrical Trailers and click on new Tin Tin trailer the store always comes up with "cannot complete your request....the store may be busy"? Same thing on the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, that one hasn't worked since it was posted on April 14.
I've experienced the same thing going back to December 2010 or earlier and have many notes on what trailer links are broken. I've reported this to Apple Care iTunes Division and they don't seem to know what's going on.
One tech, in a moment of candor, agreed that the link wasn't working for him either and that he would report it. Checking back to that link since, it's never been repaired (Tree of Life). The different people I've communicated with have reported it "upstairs", but still it keeps happening, and oddly, it's a frequent problem with high profile releases like Tin Tin or Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Even worse news? The WHOLE theatrical trailers link is now gone from iTunes (unless it's moved somewhere and I can't find it). It's definitely not where it was Monday when I last used it.
So I'd guess that the whole section has problems and they've hidden it until a solution is figured out. I really hope that it will reappear because it's my understanding that Apple Trailers have been a big success for promoting Quicktime and the Apple Brand in general. From the industry standpoint, I've read outside accounts that the industry greatly values Apple's free offering in this area and the obvious publicity the movies receive. I just hope Apple or the Studios won't start charging for them! -
after I burn the files to dvd and load to view the name does not appear. How do I get the name listed to appear on the burn disk instead of the file number?
Naming the Photo - or giving it a title - is not the same as naming file.
How are you burning to dvd? With iPhoto? If so then the Title will be available in any app that understands basic metadata.
If you want the title available in the Finder - which does not understand photo metadata - then you'll need to export the file
File -> Export
In the resulting dialogue you'll see a heading for 'File Name'. Choose 'Use Title' from the drop down.

Macbook performance without the battery
I use the macbook pro for editing video in Final cut pro, and sometimes when I am at home I remove the battery.
and then I choose better performance, but the performance is not so good, i have constantly drop frames warning in the Final Cut.
I've read about that a lot, and most people say that if remove the battery the macbook pro runs in half perfomance.
And my question is,
can I get total perfomace of the Macbook pro connected to the power without the battery, like I have when I got the battery on it???

Imac G3 How to get the crt off? or screen span one or the other
I have an imac g3 3500 mh and a slot loading drive. but the crt is geting very old the computer is like 10 years. but how do i screen spam on it.. i know there is a vga port on the back of it and i have a vga screen hooked up to it at the moment but its just that same pic as the other one.. i scree span with my mac book so i know how.. but how would i do it? Know if i cant do that is there a way i can turn off the crt? that would help even more as i hate crts I would jut put the imac under my desk and thats fine with me as i dont care about the computer being donw there or is there omthing i could put the logic born in and make it like a mini tower? i dont care if i mees up the computer also as becuase i have a brand new mac book but it would be cool to bout the mac book in the cace of the old i mac as a joke lol. and my mac book is the last gen not the new new ones bues i need fire wire lol ok thanks. and my main lang is french and i typed this all in eng. ok thanks.

Hmm wasn't aware that any of the 350s had a VGA port.
but would there be a way in the computer to unplug the crt?
There might be a way but it would involve going into the computer and disconnecting the video cable.
If you have the bottom off you could turn the "screen" control down on the flyback. It's the big black thing on top of the PAV on the computers right and those controls can be seen from the bottom right (computer's). I use a chopstick shaved into a flat bladed screwdriver point to do this.

How did u backed your data? iCloud or iTunes
Was iCloud tuned on before you reset or restore your device?
Did you backed up the data on iCloud?
If yes then you should get the option to restore from backup once you login with the same apple id that used to backup the data.
Otherwise, if you backed up your data on iTunes
You can setup the device as New
Then connect the phone to iTunes
Right click on your phone name & you will get the option to "Restore from Backup"

I have just spent over an hour waiting for the Itunes software to download the new ios5 software and it fails right at the end as a server timeout error.

The Apple servers have been absolutely slammed and have been timing out, but certainly not for the past year.

Why is Encore 6.0 giving me the "blue screen of death" when I try to create a menu?
When I purchased my student edition 6.0 (which I love by the way), Encore did not have any of the libraries loaded up on it. After reading some discussions, I downloaded the missing folders.
Now, when I try to create a menu, my computer shuts down and gives me "the blue screen of death" as they call it (a blue screen with white writting, counting up to 100%, and saying Windows is preparing to crash...or something about the hard drive crashing....I can't remember because it goes off the screen so quickly).
I've done this several times - my computer only does this when I try to create a menu in encore, and not in any other part of encore. It hasn't happened in any of the other programs either (Premiere Pro and Audition are the only other programs I have used so far), or any other times I have my laptop.
Because of this, I am not too concerned since it seems Encore is the problem. However, I do not want any other problems to escalade from this either.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please help me? I'm working on my Senior Thesis (a video) this year, and I really really cannot afford to have my computer crash on me.
