Why is the internet so SLOW????

My Jetpack connection is so slow it is maddening. Half the time we can't even complete a task.

Normal troubleshooting steps for a Jetpack are to perform the various resets:
1. Power cycle the device
2. Remove SIM card for 30 seconds
3. Press the Restore Defaults button
Be sure to test the connection speeds each time starting with 1 and working your way down. If you would like more specific steps then be sure to post your Jetpack model number.
When the resets to not resolve the problem then you need to determine if the Jetpack is having a hardware problem or if the performance is service related in your area. Try the resets first and we can help you with the rest later.

for example i load an image , rgb , ad an adjustament layer -> curve and i start to play with curve -> the refresh is instantaneous (i mean the image become more dark or lighter instantaneous )
but if i load an image -> conver in lab mode , the refresh rate is slower

Can you elaborate on your issue a bit further. What is "slow" in your approximation? Tell us about the environment you're in, what type of router, band and channel. How many other wireless routers does your machine pick up? Is it slow other places with wireless or just this current location? New issue, ongoing?

Why does the internet on my new macbook pro not work when my old macbook's does? I'll have to turn the wifi off and back on multiple times to get the internet to continue to work on my Macbook Pro (running mountain lion but did it on lion also) when it runs fine on my old white Macbook (running lion). Is there something I can do to fix it or do I just have to deal with it?

And it should go to your user folder/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
if you have one already you can rename either one ..
and then go to system preferences - displays - color to select the profile .
you will get rid of the blue tint while keeping correct color and gamma
This is for the newer 2010 MBP's altho if same display was used might also give good results in the previous models as well . .

The internet is running slow on the computer....not opening as quickly and won't stream any media when I need to what could be slowing it down and is there a way to fix it? I haven't had the computer for that long.

In the Sustem/Network/Advanced/DNS preference pane check to see what DNS servers you're using. If it's not one of the two below delete those that are there and add both of the two below. See if that improves performance. Note what servers were there in case you want to go back to them.

Hi, When I put my iMac through a browser speed test it's really slow however my MBP is working normally.
I have restarted and run Disc Utility. Any other ideas?

Yes, a site like Speedtest gives dramatically different readings with the iMac much slower than the MBP.
RSSI on the iMac is -45
PSSI on the MBP is -65
Transmit rate on the iMac is 117
Transmit rate on the MBP is 26
MCS index on the iMac is 14
MCS index on the MBP is 3
iMac is 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3
MBP is 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Thank you, dwb, I don't understand doesn't this mean the iMac should be faster than the MBP? but it isn't on speedtest the iMac has download speed of .58MBps and on the MBP it's 12.5MBps.
I'm on system 10.6 on the iMac and 10.8 on the MBP.

OK... I have an office out behind my house that I publish a weekly 'shopper' from. Been in business for 20+ years and I have most of the latest, greatest Mac equpiment. I have an Apple AirPort base station in the office and a bridge in the house for internet access at home. It used to almost as fast in the house as in the office. Lately my interner signal is just as strong as ever, but my sppeds in the house are a staggering 1.3 mbs. I have MediaCom cable in the office which advertises up to 50 mbs. ( usually only get about 15-20mbs )..... any ideas as to why my speeds are so slow @ home??? The wireless base station in the house is about 40 feet from the one in the office.....

Most of the time server slow downs are the culprit. If it is hit and miss with a particular web site then it is probably that site's server. If all sites are slow than it may be:
1. Your Internet Service Provider is doing maintenance.
2. Bad files in Safari's cache or cookies. If you don't mind losing automatically filled in passwords (stored in cookie) you can clean out Safari in a jiff. With Safari open go up to the 'Safari' menu and select 'reset Safari'. This will clean out the cache files and cookie files and history files and may put you back to normal.
Reminder: Web site passwords are stored in cookies so if you delete the cookies they will disappear and you will have to reenter your passwords.
3. If you have Norton Antivirus it may be updating its virus definitions and clogging your internet.

Okay, I'm very irritated by the performance of my Ipod Touch generation 4's internet browsing. I don't know what the problem is! I'm currently using my home wireless internet, and it's very strong (According to the wi-fi icon on the top of the computer desktop, it's at its highest potential, and we have a strong internet connection.) Which brings me to my next question, why is my Ipod Touch sooo slow? It's been happening for more than 2 months now, and I can't access Pandora, Facebook, Safari..nothing! The quality is getting really bad! And whats really aggravating about this WHOLE thing, is the fact that I take good care of my itouch! And I know this because, whenever i want to slam it on the wall, or crack it in half, or give any harmful gesture to my ipod, i RESTRAIN myself and wait when the "loading" sign is taking a little too long, or when the pop up sign comes out and declares it's not working. I try my BEST to be paitent with my ipod touch, and yet my internet is not showing any gratitude. Right now, I'm so frustrated and I just want to know... WHY!!!
P.S I DO upgrade and Recover whenever I connect it to my iTunes/Computer.

Why is the internet faster on my 3-year-old Macbook Pro than on my iPad???

Though I love my iPad, I am puzzled why surfing the web is so much slower on the iPad than on my three-year-old MacBook Pro. I have a cable modem and an airport extreme. Loading the same pages on Safari, the MacBook is much faster than the iPad. Is this normal? Could something be slowing down the connection to the iPad?

Even a 3 year old MacBook has 4 times the CPU power and about ten times the RAM of an iPad.
You can run speed tests on the iPad and make sure that you don't have a connection problem.

Why is the library so slow to upload to iCloud?

Hi there,
After a bit of hassle getting Photos to accept all my pictures from iPhoto I thought it was all fixed and ready to go to cloud storage so that I can have the same library on iMac, Macbook Pro and my iPhone.
My photo library isn't that big, about 40Gb (4607 items) but it seems to be taking forever to upload to iCloud.
My broadband speed isn't great (Around 6.5 MBPS download and around 0.7MBPS upload) but after several days my Photo library states that it is uploading 4570 items. When i try to run photos from my macbook there are only a few photos on there.
At this rate I'll probably die of old age before all the photos are in the cloud and bounced back onto my macbook & phone.
Other than slow broadband speed and apple being busy with people like me uploading, are there any other reasons why this is taking so much time? Bad settings anywhere?
As another example my iMac has been on for a couple of hours today and the Activity monitor states that 887.2MB has been sent to the cloud. That's pretty damm slow isn't it?

Why is the IDE so slow?

Why is the Cocoa Integrated Development Environment so slow for the iPhone?
Is there anything I can do to speed it up?
For example, when a break point is reached it frequently takes many seconds before moving the cursor over a variable will cause a popup window to occur. Under the BlackBox/Component Pascal IDE the code runs just as fast whether there is a breakpoint (HALT) or not. Breaking happens instantaneously and one can example all the variables relevant at that point without any delay.
I can edit compile and run applications within about 3 seconds (for a minor change) in BlackBox whereas with the iPhone I can get a can of soft drink from the refrigerator and drink half of it before the application commences running. N.B. I use the same machine (MacBook 2GHZ) for both development environments, one runs on the Apple side the other on the MS Windows side (Parallels Desktop).
Is the slowness due to "a whole lot of messaging going on" or what? It really slows down what I can accomplish in a day. Rather than trying 10 or 20 things I can only try 2 or 3. Is there anything I can do to speed things up?
I believe that a lot of the CPU time is going to 'aids' such as syntax coloring, parenthesis matching, and a host of other behind the scene stuff that I really don't want or need.

ProjectBuilder/XCode has never been able to keep up with my typing speed no matter how much processor I throw at it; something CodeWarrior was able to do (with infinitely better syntax highlighting and code browsing) on a 100MHz Performa. About a month ago I hooked up a router for me and my fiancees to use our laptops. She has a pc and I have a macbook pro. Everything was working fine, but for the past week, the internet on my mac has been running painfully slow. Her internet is working just fine, but mines is almost non-existent. I plugged the modem directly into my mac to see what happened and it worked fine then. But when i hooked up the router again it essentially stopped working again. In lamen's terms how can i fix this?

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

Why would the internet completely fail

Yesterday for an unknown reason, My Imac's Internet and Wifi completely failed and I have no idea why it did this? Is there something that I am missing? What could have caused my wifi and my internet to fail? Why did it cause my ipod and Iphone's internet fail aswell? It is fixed know, I phoned an apple representitive and got it fixed. But I am just wondering why the internet and wifi failed on all my apple divices.
