Why is the ios6 causing me texting issues?

Ever since updating to ios6, i have had issues with messaging.My wife is a cheer coach and some of her girls are having the problem and some are not.

Without knowing what "the problem" is, it is hard to help.

Ios 6 is not available for all iphones. Original Iphone and iphone 3 are not supported.

This is common for most any device/computer. Not all iphone/computer/device models can handle all of the new features. Like any device, hardware is limited and cannot always support all new features and software.

Why is the stroke causing a blob during the animation of my text?

Hi,
I have a simple text layer that I have applied a stroke to and then added the text animation preset "blur by word". During the anmiation, the stroke causes this ugly blob of black. See attached image.
How do I fix this?

Don't use layer styles to produce a stroke. This works based on a threshold and naturally using a blur and introducing semi-transparent areas will wreak havoc with this. Use the text's native outline or use duplicate layers and pre-composing to get the look you want without making a mess.

Why does embedded video cause audio sync issues?

Greetings all,
   I have a question that is perhaps best answered by an Adobe developer or someone who knows the SWF file format and various audio/video standards fairly well. When one drags an FLV file into the library in flash authoring tool, a window appears. If you click "Embed FLV in SWF and play on timeline", an awful message appears, "WARNING: Embedded video is likely to cause audio synchronization issues...". My question is: why would there be any audio synchronization issue? Is this really just a bug/unimplemented feature? Or is there some fundamental shortcoming of current versions of the SWF file format that does not allow for the FLV audio/video signals to be properly encoded in the SWF file? Or is it that the flash player plays SWF and FLV data in fundamentally different ways and that even if the audio/video is perfected sync'd in the SWF file, the fact that it's a SWF file causes flash player to lose sync?
   I'm guessing only a Flash developer could answer this (and probably not just any Flash developer!), so if there are any out there, please spare some wisdom for a poor lost SWF surfer.

From what I am reading, you are trying to use the audio that was in the original video-right? By that, I mean, you haven't added a voice over or music-just using the speaker's voice on the tape.
If so, you might want to try using something like a Fade Out or Fade In instead of one of the transitions that add or subtract to the length of the video

Or you could try extracting the audio from the movie so that you could edit it and sync it that way.

Question, has this problem only occured on smartphones? If so, I'm wondering if you've tried the oh so painful factory data reset, then leave the phone mostly "stock" to see if it happens? A basic tenent of troubleshooting is to try and find a common denominator...wondering if you have a preferred app that may be causing you issues.

Why does Mail not update timely with Mavericks? Why does the download to fix this issue (?) won't install?

I installed Mavericks on my MacBook Pro when it first came out. Since then, my Mail program doesn't go out and get my new mail from gmail every minute like it's set to do. Sometimes new mail shows up on my smart phone as long as 10 minutes before it shows up on my Mac. I saw there was a stand-alone download for Mail on Mavericks meant to fix some gmail-Mavericks-Mail problems. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6030
However, this will not install on my Mac. The error message says simply that "this volume does meet the requirements for this update." Can't figure out why. I have plenty of memory.

Try adjusting the settings in Mail:
Mail > Preferences > General > Check For Incoming Messages: Every Minute
Also, you may be downloading an incompatible 10.9.1 update (one is for newest retina Macbook Pro's, the other for remaining Macs). Navigate to the Apple Logo > Software Update...
If it shows no software update available when the App Store opens, you are already running 10.9.1 (which includes the mail update).

Why is the iOS6 maps not working?

I updated to iOS6 last night. I used Siri to direct me to a local restaurant 1 mile ahead as a test. Siri allowed me to pick the correct restaurant and I said "go". The Apple map software intitialized was started. The map wanted to take me off the main road to a side street and rerouted me in a circle to come around from the south side instead of taking me directly to the restaurant dead ahead on the left. The software also showed the road as being a divided highway when it was not.
I've never seen any Apple designed iPhone app this screwed up. Is there a fix coming? Anyone?. . . Anyone?

Why does the iPhone lose home network connection?

My new iPhone 5 keeps losing my home network connection. Any advice? I've tried resetting network settings, turning the phone off and on again and turning the router off and on again. Thanks.

I'm looking into that possibility.......have a cordless phone in the office, a PC, cell phones, etc. Will clear them out and recheck. The maddening thing is that the iBook is totally bulletproof even in that environment. Why would the iMac be having these issues, but not the iBook? Is Airport Extreme more robust, or that much better than Airport?
Even now, the iMac shows no network - yet I'm writing this on the iBook right next to it, and it's had no network interruption whatsoever.
Do you have any knowledge of those "error" notations from the syslog? Could they be pointing to anything else?

Dead PB Battery causing system operation issues ??

Hi, I bought a 1Ghz DVI Titantum G4 on Craigslist over the weekend. The system has what appears to be a completely dead PB battery that is 5+ years old (there is writing on the back of the battery "May 2005").
It came with a 3rd party 45W adapter/charger and the system will run from that just fine.
Mac OSX 10.4.11 says the battery is charged at 96%, but when I try to run the PB from the battery, nothing happens. I press the little button on the bottom of the battery and it indicates a fully charged battery. However the System Profiler shows no amperage from the battery on the power portion of the profiler. I checked the PRAM battery with a multimeter and it still has a charge.
Will leaving this apparently dead PB battery in the system cause other operational issues ? Any thoughts ?

Keeping a dead battery in the computer won't cause any problems, but the fact that it's dead will, of course, mean it won't serve to prevent certain kinds of problems that wouldn't arise if it were a good battery.
In particular, you probably won't be able to unplug the AC adapter and transport the Powerbook for more than a handful of minutes before the PRAM battery is completely drained, and then the drained PRAM battery may prevent the machine from starting up until it is recharged — which will go very slowly if a dead main battery is in place and the computer is trying in vain to recharge that too. The main battery gets charging priority, and the PRAM battery gets charged after the main battery is full. If the main battery never charges, the PRAM battery may not either, unless the main battery is removed.
It's also true that in the event of an AC power outage while you're working, the dead battery won't fulfill its usual function as an uninterruptible power supply. The computer will instantly shut down, and whatever you're working on that hasn't been saved will be irrevocably lost. If the battery were good, you might not even notice the outage.
If the computer is just going to sit on a desk and be permanently connected to AC power, you can leave the dead battery in it — except after a power outage, when you'll need to remove it for 5-6 hours to give the PRAM battery time to recharge in its absence. On the other hand, the only real reason to keep a dead battery in the machine is to prevent foreign matter or objects from getting inside the battery compartment. There's no other advantage to having it in there.

Some phones can only send and recieve SMS messages. If the recipients phone doesn't support MMS they won't be able to recieve a text with a photo.
To get your photos in Photo Stream, you'll need to setup iCloud. Check out this Apple article for more info -> iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

Why is the text not the visible in the protected PDF opened on Mac?

Long story short:
I've created a document in Microsoft Word 2010 and saved it as PDF. With the .pdf open now in Acrobat Reader 9.4.1 I have enabled the protection over the .pdf file by only allowing Printing and saved the protected .pdf. All of these actions are made on Windows 7 machine. Now when trying to open the protected .pdf on Mac (with Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and Preview) the .pdf opened only shows the lines and bullets but not the text.
Why is the text not visible in the protected PDF opened on Mac?
(is this bug or a "feature"?)
Note: the protected .pdf looks good on Windows 7 and it works on Mac if the .pdf has no protection.

A. What application are you using to add the protection? Reader cannot add any file security and I don't think the PDF feature of Word will either.
B. Mac Preview has issues with PDF standards so there may be some features that you will experience issues with that have no workarounds.
C. Have you checked the file after adding security to see if all fonts are embedded?

This doesn't happen all the time, but it's happened enough for me to notice it and get super annoyed by it.
Here's an example. If I have the following text:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
And I highlight quick brown and then press delete, I get: (The red shows the selected text)
The fox jumps over the lazy dog.
So when I then start typing, more text is removed than I want. Sometimes this effect carries over, so that the next couple words are selected once I start typing.
It's wonderfully annoying. So I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing such issues or if anyone might have an idea on how to get rid of this problem.

Have you tried triple-clicking in the Word document to select text? If that doesn't work, we'll want to take a closer look at how the original PDF was created, as that can have an affect on how well the PDF converts. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community. If the PDF was created by a third-party PDF producer, it may not be well-written, and that can lead to conversion issues.
You can tell how the PDF was created by choosing File > Properties when the PDF is open in Reader. The PDF Producer is listed on the Description tab.
