Why is the iphone5 so much more expensive in Canada than in the US??
With the Canadian dollar near parity, why is the cost of the new iPhone5 so much more in Canada???
It's not.
Announced US pricing is for a subsidized device on 2yr contract.
All other pricing that I have seen for iPhones in other country's is for non-subsidized devices.

Why are the new iPhones much more expensive in Canada?
Looking at the Apple Canada website I see that the iPhone 5C is priced from $599 (yes - 500 and 99 !!), whereas the US price is $99. The difference for the 5S is similar.
Why this huge discrepancy, and will it be corrected soon? I certainly don't plan to get one anytime soon if not. Thanks for that. I didn't take enough notice of the fine print, but it's odd that Apple should advertise it differently on the US and Canadian online store websites.
I will wait and see what (if any) deals come along via my carrier. I'm due for a new phone anyway. -
Why is apple Australia so much MORE expensive than America!?
so tell me, Why is apple Australia so much MORE expensive than America!? i have been meaning to pick up a new imac.....and i saw that the exact same type of imac that i want i could pick up in America for a good $600 LESS.... you know, even though our dollar is HIGHER THAN AMERICA'S! *** APPLE!
Reasons:
Australian import duties
Australian taxes on foreign imports
Australian VAT
Got complaints? Talk to your politicians. Apple has nothing to do with it. -
Would someone please expatiate on the price disparity between U.S. and Australian iPhone 4S.
The prices you're seeing advertized in the US are subsidized by the carriers in exchange for a 2 year contract. Full (non-contracted) prices are similar to thoese in Australia

Why is apple ram so much more expensive than normal ram
for 2 gb of apple ram for the dual 2.7 is about $300, this ram doesn't even have its own heatsink and is only CL3. why is ram with a heatsink and CL2( which is faster) about 200 $$ cheaper? is there any difference in the ram or is apple trying to make a big profit ?
I found out that there is nothing special about the
ram.. and the corsair ram is a lot faster and better
So, is the Corsair ram you are talking about that which TigerDirect.com has advertised over at dealmac.com today. The after rebate price for a 1Gb stick of 4200 is about $45. Not too bad if it would work in a Quad. -
Why are itunes books so much more expensive than kindle books?
I am a recent convert from Android to iPad and iPhone. Even though I have the Kindle app on both devices and can read my Kindle books, it seemed to make sense to make any new book purchases through iTunes since I already purchase apps and music. However, after comparing about a half dozen books on both Kindle and iTunes, the iTunes books were all higher in price by 30 to 50%. This doesn't make sense to me, so I thought I'd throw it out as a question and see if anyone knew why.
I'm struggling with the same thing. I prefer to buy all things Apple. If the prices were even close, I would, but I just found yet another book that I need for work where Kindle is literally half the price!!!! One thing I won't do is end up with half of my ebooks in Kindle and half in iBooks, so if Apple doesn't fix this, I'm afraid I will have to buy all my books from amazon. And once you start down either path, it's hard to switch back, so I hope Apple is paying attention.

Why needs the first reference much more time to close than all others?
Hi all,
I am facing a strange problem with closing an array of references.
A few words to my environment:
I can load dynamically VIs into a subpanel sitting on my main VI but if I unload and reload Visa I need to close my Visa properly, not just by stopping.
Therefore I wrote a closingVI which is attached. In this VI I look for a "Stop" button and send a true by signaling.
The problem now is that the very first reference in the "Control[]" needs around 40seconds to close, all following refs just need <1ms! By the way, the array size is just about 24 and it is independent which ref comes first.
In addition to that the problem just occurs when the VI runs longer than 10 minutes, which doesn't makes any sense to me.
Do you have any suggestions?

I don't know what you are referring to here. You are closing all of the Control references in a single node. Are you saying it takes that long for the Close Reference for the entire array?

Passport is 100 more expensive in canada than US
that is the way:

BlackBerry CEO John Chen says he will try to leverage the 'emotional' attachment of Canadians to the company to lure back customers. BlackBerry launched its new Passport device Wednesday.patapoof wrote:
But sometimes ca price is lower... ex. I just ordered some accessories on ca cb site much less than us site even with usurious ca postage...
OP was talking about the Passport and not accessories.
Accessories can go on sale in differnet places and not every where has a price match policy

I was wondering if anybody can tell me why the Apple IPhone 5 is $600 US/AUD more expensive in Australia than in the US!
thanksThanks for the reply - I still know that this issue is also relevant for so many other apple products which don't involve cellular providers.... I think Australians are tired of paying so much more for things than in the US and other countries. It used to be explained by the poor Australian dollar but that doesnt exactly work when we are over parity with the US dollar and have been for a while now....

Why are Macbooks so much more expensive in NZ compared to US?
Hi,
Just wondering why the apple products are so much more expensive in NZ than in US. I am looking at getting a new macbook pro 17" and saw it is NZ$4149, and US$2500. So I used the exchange rates to convert US$2500 to NZ$. It came to approx $3000. So why are they making us pay another $1000 in NZ??Economies of scale most likely.

Your question should be looked at in the opposite "Why are US citizens getting a discount?"
If you compare the two economies and what people tend to buy perhaps that would shed some light.

Why are TV shows (like Supernatural) so much more expensive to download (SD or HD) than sites like Amazon?
They aren't really that much cheaper on Amazon. For Supernatural season 7, each single episode in HD is $2.99, same as iTunes. If you buy the whole season on Amazon, it's $2.84 per episode. Maybe $2 cheaper to buy on Amazon.
Remember though, on Amazon, you can't sync the videos onto an iPad/iPod/iPhone or Apple TV. In iTunes you can.
I prefer to buy on iTunes simply for the convenience, iTunes makes all the differance. -
Ibooks much more expensive than kindle books
Is there somewhere within Apple ibookstore that you can raise the issue of a book being much more expensive in ibookstore compared to Aussie Kindle store?
The prices for each ibook are set by the publisher/rights-holder - some might be cheaper on Amazon/Kindle, some in the iBookstore or in one of the other ebook apps/stores (Nook, Kobo).
You can leave feedback for Apple via one of these pages, but only the publisher can change the price :

Why are calls to certain countries more expensive ...
Hello!
I just wonder why calls to ordinary phones are more expensive to certain countries than to others. For example a call to Afghanistan is 30 cents a minute, a call to Somalia or Guinea is 57 cents a minute, but a call to France is only 2 cents a minute. Why is that? Are you working on a solution to that? We have many immigrants in my country who would like to be able to make cheap calls to their home countries and not only to rich western countries.
Thank you!
Greetings from Andreas from SwedenWe are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. Forall items in the store the prices are set by the content providers, and with US prices you need to add on the state's sales tax to the listed price, which I think can be up to something like 7 percent.

Can we send more than 50 files ...even at the cost of a more expensive subscription level?
Thanks.Hi Val,
Nice to see you in the forums again!
There is currently just the one subscription level for Adobe Send. If you want to send more than 50 files per transaction, you can try zipping up some or all of the files and sending them in batches. However, the ZIP files can't be previewed by your recipients, and tracking information pertains only to the full ZIP file.
Best,
