Why is the JPG missing its clipping path when opening in Illustrator?
I need to be able to create jpg images images in photoshop with a clipping mask so that my clients can open the files in their own programs with a transparent (not solid white) background. I thought I used to be able to do this. But now when I open the jpg files in my own Illustrator program, it doesn't have the clipping path. I can resave the jpgs as eps files, and the path comes through just fine, but many of my clients can't use eps files and the file sizes of eps files are way too big. I've tried saving the jpg files and opening them up in CS3 and CS6 photoshop/illustrator programs. The clipping path is still in the jpg files when I open them in photoshop; they just seem to disappear when I open the files in Illustrator.
Is there a way to keep the clipping path in a jpeg file when using it in Illustrator?
JPG files cannot have a clipping path. Save as a PNG file from Photoshop for a transparent background.

That is strange sounds like what happens when you open a die built in autocad, in illustrator. What happens if you paste a CS6 path into CC?

Why do the colors of my display change when opening applications?
Something is causing my display look like it has a blue cast whenever I open applications like photoshop, google chrome, preview, etc. It's really annoying and it looks like absolute garbage. I'm a photographer and I can't get any work done if my display colors are all messed up. This happens even though I calibrated my screen with a Spyder3Pro Utility calibration software. Does anyone know why this happens and more importantly, how can I stop this from happening? So frustrating!

PDF exported from InDesign missing background when opened in Illustrator
Hello, I am having a bit of a frustrating problem.
I'm working on graphics for a large project, and I have to get some of my files from InDesign into Illustrator (they are both CS5) for our printer.
I would have normally designed them in Illustrator but ALL my graphics are in InDesign and we just found out once we started on production that he needs AI and needs our trim path set up for our irregular shapes.
For MOST of the documents, its been pretty easy (exporting to PDF > opening in illustrator and making a cut path > saving as AI) however I have this one file that is making me lose my mind.
When I export it as PDF, it opens perfectly and looks normal in acrobat, and I also check it out in preview as well. The background shows up and everything. However when I open the PDF in illustrator it completely loses the background. I noticed it doing this before for a couple graphics, but I assumed that was because they had gradients drop shadows and transparencies and all that. This file has nothing weird except for a gradient grey background.
Help? I'm including some screenshots of whats happening in the hopes that you guys can help solve it.
So here we have me saving it, then opening it in Acrobat to check stuff out.
Now here is what happens when I open it in Illustrator:Hi, Brie. I have been running into this issue for quite some time now. I also received the same response as you did. "Stop opening exported PDFs in Illustrator." This is an unsatisfactory answer for someone that works in the large format print industry that needs to preflight directly in the Illustrator program. I've done a ton of research and have been racking my brain for the last 2 years and have finally found sufficient workarounds for this issue. The downfall with these workarounds: all spot colors located in the gradients will convert to CMYK mixes. I'm still researching to see if there is a way to keep spot colors intact in these areas.
A little back story: InDesign is converting the gradients into something called NChannel. It enables more accurate handling of color blending by including additional dot gain and color mixing info. Both InDesign and Acrobat have the ability to display these elements whereas Illustrator, from what I’m finding, does not. Which is why we’re seeing gradient elements drop out when opened in Illustrator.
Workaround for CMYK Gradients
Open PDF exported from INDD in Acrobat
Go to Tools > Print Production > Convert Colors
Object Type: Smooth Shade (this tells Acrobat to hone in on Gradients only)
Color Type: DeviceCMYK
Check Embed next to Conversion Profile (should be SWOP)
Expand Document Colors on the right and Select DeviceCMYK in Color Spaces then click ok
Save the PDF
Workaround for 1 Spot Color in Gradients (Converts Spot Color located in Gradient to CMYK – all other Spots stay intact)
Open PDF exported from INDD in Acrobat
Go to Tools > Print Production > Convert Colors
Object Type: Smooth Shade (this tells Acrobat to hone in on Gradients only)
Color Type: Spot Color
Check Embed next to Conversion Profile (should be SWOP)
Expand Document Colors on the right and Select the Spot that is located in the Gradient in Color Spaces then click ok
Save the PDF
Workaround for 2 Spot Colors in Gradients (Converts Spot Colors located in Gradient to CMYK – all other Spots stay intact)

Gone, *poof*.
I miss it and I think Apple should have kept it around as it's low key machine, great for kids and adults who didn't like a lot of flash.
Now the 13" MacBook Pro is considered the equivalent on a similar performance basis, however it has the bright silver rich looking case that draws thieves attention and really isn't a "Pro" machine at all with it's inferior low performing integrated graphics.
Heck most $500-$800 Windows laptops are just the same in performance and has a larger 15" screen.
If you need a anti-glare screen you have to opt for the 15" or 17" MacBook Pro and pay $50 more for the anti-glare, but it's worth it. The 13" doesn't have a anti-glare option, but we are petitioning Apple to include that option.
I think Apple considered the MacBook as a educational computer, thus replaced it for a line of iPads which make considerable more margins and provides less hardware benefits as all the hardware features, stand, keyboard etc. are separate purchases. -

This folder is probably treated as a program to run at startup.
So you will have to look at the places where such programs are referenced.
For instance, you may have a shortcut to that folder in your Start Menu > Startup.
Or it may be in the Registry.
Click on Start > Execute, the type msconfig and click OK.
This will show you in the Startup tab all the programs launched at startup.

I am currently using an ipod touch 3. When i record in voice memos with the apple earphones(with an inbuilt mic) i can see on the screen that its recording;
