Why is the left side of my iPad magnetic?

TThe whole left hand side of my iPad mini is magnetic, is this normal?

Yes it's for a magnetic case that turns ipad on when opening.

Why is the left side of my iMac screen darker than the other, and why does the display randomly go black?

My family has a late 2010 27" Imac. A few months ago, we noticed that the left side of the screen was somewhat darker than the right. As time went on, it continued to get worse and worse. When you turn the computer off for an hour or so, it helps the display out somewhat, but it eventually goes back to being darker on the left. About two months ago, the display started to go completely black. When the screen is black, everything still runs. My itunes library will still play, everything is functioning even though the screen is out. It has started to become more frequent. It is extremely annoying, almost unbearable. Since the one year warranty went out in November, what are we supposed to do about this?

Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. It's a known issue with 27" iMacs and you might be eligible for replacement. I had mine replaced shortly after buying it. BTW, AppleCare's extended warranty is the cheapest insurance policy one can have for desktop machines. Too bad you missed the deadline.

I was wondering if there were any other people that have had this problem as no topics came up under what I had typed. The left hand side of my iPad mini will not respond to touch. A hard reboot won't solve it and don't want to factory reset unless I have to.
Any solutions?

Why does the left side of mbp 4.1 get abnormally hot? What's is the problem?

The bottom of my 2008, 15" 4.1 mbp has always gotten very hot. lately however, it gets extremely hot. The other night, I fell asleep with it open, on my lap and it literally burned me and left a nice blister on my lap. I think the fans are working because in a recent update, I've forgotten which one, the fans did go on and I heard them. Is this kind of heat normal? What, if anything, should I be doing to ensure it's not going to burn itself out? Obviously I'm not going to put it on my lap again but it's never done that in the past. Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks in advance for your help. I can't do much internal work since I've recently suffered a small stroke-like issue that's paralyzed my arms and taken fine motot movement out of my hands. If it's easy work htough, I may be able to get one of my kids to give me a hand.

Ok Austin. I've downloaded iStat. I can barely see the writing but the app is totally interesting. If there's a way to enlarge it without having to use the 'control' function to zoom in on it, that would be great. Aside from that, it looks like it may well tell me what's happening to my system's temps. As for the overheating, what you said is very interesting. I may very well be blocking one of the fans. We shall see! Thanks and hopefully blocking one of the fans!

Make an appointment at your local Apple store, take it in and have them look at it. In case they decide to replace it, you may want to do a sync and backup before you go.

Even if you put a credit or debit card on file with iTunes it will still use your balance FIRST.
I would suggest putting a card on file and testing to see if it will allow you to make a purchase, then removing the card from the account after successful download of an item.

I need to reprogram the delete and enter key to the left side of a external keyboard for the ipad mini. I don't need the caps/lock or ctrl key. Due to a brain injury my daughter can only use her left hand to type. She also uses a text to speech app to verbalize all of her needs since her speech isn't intelligible any longer either. And her vision was significantly affected also, so the keyboard has to be mounted about 6 inches from her face. So to reach across the keyboard with her left hand to the right side delete and enter button is physically difficult and causes typing errors, which cause people to not understand what shes trying to say.
The best keyboard so far is the Zagg folio mini. I just had to make stickers to enlarge the letters on the key buttons.
Does anyone know how I can reprogram these two keys? Or where I can buy a wireless mini keyboard for Ipad made for lefthanders with these two functions on the left side. I have searched for days and days. It's sooooo important to me that she be able to contribute her voice again. Imagine if you got in a car accident and couldn't speak clearly any longer, but understood everything still. Thanks for any help and suggestions you all take the time to share with me. I really appreciate the kindness of strangers to help me help my daughter.

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

You can also turn OFF Split Keyboard

i edit the pic in ulbums.
now i want to move my albums to the pc.
i read the support answer about it but i cant find the photo tab on the left side under the ipad device.

It doesn't appear on the left-hand side, a Photos tab appears on the right-hand side of your computer's iTunes when you've selected the iPad 'device' on the left-hand side - but that is only used to copy photos to the iPad, not to copy them off.
To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
