Why is the LinkSys WET11 still expensive?

I'm needing to connect my 8 yr old daughter's CRT iMac to my wireless LinkSys router so I was going to go with the LinkSys WET11 route. I bought my router for about $40 after the rebates, why is the LinkSys WET11 still twice that? Cheapest I've found it is around $75, does that sound about right?

I can get the above adapter at my Best Buy for 19.99 after rebates, are these not worth it even for my daughter who only plays Flash games on her Barbie website a few hours a week? Her computer is about 20' away in the next room.

The install is really simple.
Set the device to "Client" with the switch on the bottom.
Plug the ethernet plug into the ethernet port on the iMac and the plug the USB cable into the USB port for power. If the port is not available, you can just use the supplied transformer.
Open your browser and Type "http://192.168.0.30" in the URL box unless the included instructions give you a different address to use. This will begin the communication between the device and the computer.
A login screen will appear. Type "admin" for the user name and leave the password blank. Press the enter key.
The home screen will appear and give you a lot of selections that may seem kind of scary. You really don't have to worry about them. Select the "Run Wizard" option.
The next screen shows you the steps that follow.
Select the "Next" option.
The next screen allows you to change the username and password for the device. Use your own judgement here if you want to make any changes.
Select "Next" from the bottom.
The next screen allows you to select the wireless network connection you want. I recommend you choose the "Site Survey" option and allow it to find your wireless system. Then select it and Select the "Next" option at the bottom.
The next page allows you to select encryption if you want to use it. Do what you want here. (I left the encryption off for my own reasons.) Then select "next"
The next screen tells you that the setup is completed and that you need to restart the device. Select "Restart"
The next screen will prompt you to close the wizard and will return you to the home screen.
Close your browser.
I am running OSX10.3 so I went to system preferences/network and made sure that the etherent showed it was connected. Voila!
Open your browser and you should be connected.
All of this assumes that there aren't unusual setups or preferences already set.

I can't find a single use for the router hostname, yet the Linksys WRT54G version 5 firmware v1.00.6 wireless router REQUIRES a hostname, even though nothing actually uses that hostname.

if I would buy a IPAD 3G-WIFI with 64 GB in Germany i must pay 799,00 €uro. If I buy it in the USA I just would pay 829,00 US-Dollar. OK it looks that it is cheaper in Europe but.......829,00 US Dollar are just 672,00 €uro so why is the IPAD so expensive??? 120,00 €uro is too much money for shipping costs. So Apple what will you do??? Put the Price in a normal and payable area and lots more people would buy the IPAD.

Why are the pod casts still on my iPod? iTunes said they aren't anymore?

I Have recently bought an iPod touch, 5 generation. I am having trouble with my simpsons epidodes and decided that i should delete them off my ipod and re download them. i connected to itunes, and synced it. Itunes now says that they have been taken off my ipod. So i looked at my ipod and the videos are still on there?!? why is this? i have fiddled around with it for around an hour now and i cant seem to remove them off my ipod. Please help.

To delete all podcasts go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Podcasts Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Podcasts

I just open my MBP before plugging up the TB display. Then after the TB comes on, I close the MBP back into clamshell mode. Works better for me that way.

Why is the Linksys Help Number a Scam?

Yesterday I call the Linksys Help number and got somebody in Arabia that I could barely understand to help me re-connect my Extenders (one was disconnected and the software wasn't working to re-connect it).
Because this was the Linksys Help Number (gotten directly off the Linksys website 888-351-0767), I thought I should "Trust" them (please read on).
He proceeded to tell me that my Wireless network was taken over by foriener's IP addresses, and the reason my signal strength was so bad & eratic.
And wanted to use a service of their's that would allow them to fix the problems I was having.
I agreed because it was Linksys's help partners...
He then showed me a few google searches that proved what he was telling me was the truth.
Then he ran a DOS shell program and found all the problems I was having while explianing to me how these foriener's have hijacked my computer & wireless network.
Then he told me he could fix everthing for $69.99...
I didn't say another word, I just turned my computer off (holding the start button until it turned off).
Then when I rebooted, I had his software automaticly re-start.
I found a way to shut their software off by searching for a few answer on my cell phone.
This seems to be a scam number, please let everyone know!
Linksys should appoligize to me for this kind of behavoir...
I will search hard for customer happiness when I decide to upgrade to a new wireless router.

I looked at the link, the pictures of the techs don't resemble the person's language that was talking to me.
Not unless all of them was fluient in broken islamic/indian/english, If so they should get an award for their perforamnce!
Note:
Sounded like there were at least 10+ other people in the background that "were" fluient in islamic/indian all telling the person what to do next.

Try logging out of the existing Apple ID at Settings > iTunes & App Store.
Select your Apple ID and at the window that appears, select Sign Out.
Sign back in with the changed Apple ID.

Why is the black MacBook more expensive?

It seems that you could configure a white macbook to have the same exact configuration as the black one, but pay $125 less. Are people really paying $125 just for the black color??

... and people will pay a couple hundred dollars more more to get a CPU chip that has about 10% more processing throughput. 20% price increase for 10% processing gain.
I waited until there were nice price cuts on the 1.83 C2D Macbook as retailers dumped them to make room to stock new SR Macbooks. In daily life, they feel about equal, but I have a bit more money in the bank. True, you get Tiger for the OS now, but it doesn't seem like it is a huge gain over Leopard. By waiting, the 1.83 C2D Macbook was actually a little less expensive than a similar notebook from Dell.
For some people, style trumps function, and that's OK. If you're a sales rep or similar person, where you get brownie points for style, then it makes sense. Also, if you have the money and it makes you feel good, then why not...? You only live once; might as well be happy.
PS: you could buy the cheaper machine and donate your savings to a charity.

Why is the battery replacement so expensive?

I just bought my 15 GB ipod used a coupla weeks ago, and I thought I was getting a decent price. Now the battery appears to have died and I've found out that Apple used some really cheap, crappy batteries in the earlier ipod's and that this is a known issue. So, now I have to pay more for a replacement battery to Canada than I paid for the actual ipod? I wish I'd known this before buying the thing. I sure won't be recommending anyone else to buy them. Not when I have to pay for a substandard part just because it's not under it's one-year waranty anymore. Not very impressive start to my buying Apple products.

Just in case anyone is still following for some strange reason....
First, I wish that I had found that second url first. Their packs are better because they come with the tool that helps to prevent damage when opening the case. My case is pretty bent and scratched up now. I'm sure someone more experienced would have been graceful, but...I'd definitely recommend the other sets for inexperienced dorks like me.
But now it doesn't even matter what condition the case is in, cause the actual unit seems to be hooped. When I first replaced the battery the ipod would turn on and show the same uncharged battery icon, so I figured that it just needed to charge. I was just so happy that it still worked after opening it. But now aftr getting home from work, during which the ipod was charging, the thing won't even turn on anymore. And since I craked it myself, there's zero recourse.
I wish I had just spent the $93 to send it to Apple. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened or I would have received a refurbished ipod as a replacement. But why did it have to be so stinking complicated to begin with?
What a waste of money. And so depressing. I bought this to help with a crappy long-hour job.

Why is the basic pack more expensive then the plus pack?

It says the basic is .99 cents for the first month and then 14.99 each month after, while the plus pack is 8.99 a month. Can someone please explain this or have i just misunderstood the pricing?

The basic is indeed more expensive, but can be cancelled every month, while the pro plan is billed on a per-year basis. Enjoy your day!

WHY is the old updater still appearing in the menu bar???

I'm still astounded that the old updater icon still appears in the menu bar, and that it's also creating a mess up there. It's redundant -- the cloud icon should be all we need for update notifications.
When are the programmers going to eradicate this code once and for all? I never even installed CS6 on this machine so clearly the code is lingering in the CC 2014 release.

After removing and replacing a hyperlink why is the old one still in the html code?

I'm using a tool tip in a master page, the hyperlink is used on the base image and on the roll-over tip.

but the old link, shown above overides the new one???
I can' seem to get rid of it!

I have been using Muse since it was released, I can assure you I know how to assign a hyperlink!
