Why is the Magic Mouse slow and impressive on Mavericks?

After upgrade to Mavericks, the Magic Mouse become slow and Impressive. This doens,t happened on Mountain Lion.
I did a clean installation and the batery of Magic Mouse is full!

Did you post from the system that has the problem? (Your "More System Details" list shows Flash 11.7 instead of 11.8 for some reason.)
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash ''(I see from your post that you've done this part)''
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

  • Why does my magic mouse button and scroll surface not work?

My MacBook Air 13" ran out of power before I could connect it to a power source. After I was able to power it on again, the Magic Mouse button and scrolling surface could no longer work even though I could still use the optical pointer below to move the cursor. How can I restore the button and scrolling surface. Have tried powering down and up both the MacBook Air as well as the mouse. Also tried unpairing and re-pairing both but nothing works so far. Thanks.

Have you tried to edit your settings in Apple menu -> System preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse?

  • HT204387 iPAD mini iOS 6.1 can pair keyboards, why not the Magic Mouse?

I need to access a site that requires click & drag with my iPad Mini. Has anyone figured out a work-around to get the MAGIC MOUSE to pair with the iPAD Mini? I am having trouble understanding why it won't pair.  Can Apple make an update to iOS 6.1 to include the MM?  It already can pair many other Bluetooth accessories, why not mice?

Thank you KPenguin. I understand now, though I still can't 'click & drag' items in Kano games.  The 2 second hold that works for rearranging app icons doesn't seem to work.  Guess I'll be returning my new MMouse, which is a shame. I was looking forward to playing around with all it's cool features! :)
Note to self: Mouse needs active cursor to work! Haha (it's a duh moment here!!) o.O

  • Why does the magic mouse battery level drop suddenly?

I typically get, oh, about 3 weeks off of a pair of AA alkaline 1.5V batteries on my magic mouse.
What I don't understand though is not really being able to track the battery level in the bluetooth menu on my iMac 21.5".
The battery level even now is at 100%. What happens is is that it stays at 100% for several weeks and then all of a sudden drops to 7% or so, and I get a low battery warning. Then after a couple of days the battery will drain out.
After it drops down to 7% I can usually track the battery drain in the menu. But I never see it at 90% or 80% or 50%, etc. It just drops down suddenly near the end of the battery life.
Do other people see more continuous changes of the battery level?
The same thing happens with my bluetooth Apple keyboard that came with the iMac. Right now it is showing a level of 100%. It typically lasts for months instead of weeks, but I will never see an in-between battery level value until I get a low-battery warning.
I'm thinking of rechargeable batteries for my magic mouse. But I see too many negatives posted here in the forums about that, so I am hesitant about investing in those batteries and a charger if it's not going to work well.
    Thanks,
    doug

Maybe it's a Mac model issue? I'm running the late 2009 model, purchased in February 2010, and running Lion.
But I've never seen the battery level display in-between values.
Here's what it is showing now and I replaced the batteries over a week ago.
Do your batteries also last a few weeks in the magic mouse?
    Thanks,
    doug

  • Can the Magic Mouse be configured to not spring open files?

The Magic Mouse I received with my PowerMac springs open files, that is clicking once opens every single file. I am constantly having to close files that have automatically opened. It's a real interruption of the work-flow. Is there any way to stop this from happening. There seems is no remedy for this in Preferences.

Thank you for your response and it turns out you are on the right track. After posting the question, I went back once again to the Magic Mouse preferences and where I had set the double mouse click speed to slow, thinking that might prevent files from sprining open, I turned the double click speed up to the fastest setting. Now the files don't automatically launch on single click. I'm a bit slow I guess, I was thinking the opposite way. Now of course I have to click like a banshee to get the darn thing to open, but it's better that way. I'll fiddle with the setting... Thanks again.

  • When the Magic mouse is connected to the macbook, loading every website gets so slow.

    Hello!
When I connect the Magic mouse to my Macbook pro, loading any website gets so slow, it takes a lot of time to loads. When I disconnect the Magic mouse from the Macbook the loading of any website gets fast and normal.
Nothing is installed in my Macbook, I've bought this mac before 3 days, and bought the mouse yesterday.
I'm using the bluetooth Magic mouse.

    Hello,
Click the Apple icon in the top left corner, Then System Preferences..., From the menu bar select Help, Write
Set up a wireless keyboard and mouse,
    Follow the instructions!

  • Tapping the magic mouse to raise from sleep has stopped. Why?

Tapping the magic mouse to raise from sleep has stopped. Why?

There have been a few threads on here about this problem - there's a long thread here that started in 10.6 and has continued into 10.7: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2223188?start=0&tstart=0
When 10.7.2 was released it initially seemed to fix things for me but unfortunately it didn't last. The only surefire 'fix' for me is to set the computer to 'never sleep' in Energy Saver prefs. Hopefully another update might resolve it - we live in hope .

  • Why the video is slow and stutter on the viewer clip?

Why the video is slow and stutter when I drag the mouse on the cursor to check from left to right?
I just upgraded to imac 20" and I had never had this problem with my old mac. The old mac seemed to be smoother than this one.
The only difference was my 1 TB external hardrive is linkup using USB 2.0 this time round since I've not purchased the Firewire 800 yet. Does using USB 2.0 cause this problem?

I noticed something from my previous iMac. When I drag the cursor from left to right, there is no sound when I'm dragging. Thus, that makes me think that the absence of audio produce smoother flow. How do I disable the audio while I'm working on the viewer then?

  • I use an iMac (27" 3.4) and have problems with the Magic Mouse. It does not use contact, but opens useless and unrelated submenus with every click, even on the empty desktop. I can't shift, open or close pages. Has anyone out there the same problem?

I use an iMac 27" (mid 2011). Until recently I had OSX 10.6.8 installed, but both, the HDD and SSD had to be replaced, and I lost all the memory.
After the repair through Apple Care I had OSX 10.7.5. (Lion) installed, which developed a Magic Mouse problem.
Unlike with most users, I have no problems with connection, but grapple with a different kind of erratic behaviour.
All fancy stuff is turned off in the mouse preferences. When I try to move, open or close pages, unrelated submenus pop up and hinder the
required task. No matter how often I click, these menus stay there, and they even come up when clicking on the bare desktop.
It renders the mouse absolutely useless, as no work can be done with it.
The first 'Magic Mouse' had depleted batteries every few days, despite switching it off after use.
I was supplied a new Mouse, which does better battery-wise, but the problems are the same. I can't get a result by clicking on any link, due to
the pop-up menus, so both 'Magic Mice' are totally useless.
At present I am using the old USB mouse from my Mac Pro, and that works still o.k.
The problem are not the mice, but the software. The first 2 weeks after installation of OSX 10.7.5 the Magic Mouse worked though.
I have no idea as to what the reason may be.
Has anyone in the community ever experienced that particular problem. Any hint would be welcomed.
    Thank you!

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!
    Thanks for the advice, Bee
    Cheers, Gerd

  • TS3048 Is there a way to "calibrate" the magic mouse? I have rearranged settings for mouse, air-cleaned, tried different surfaces, however, it seems to be misinterpreting finger movements and randomly trying to open launchpad when enabled.

Is there a way to "calibrate" the magic mouse? Batteries are good. I have rearranged settings for mouse, air-cleaned, tried different surfaces, however, it seems to be misinterpreting finger movements and randomly trying to open launchpad when enabled-flashing between the app I am in and launchpad. When right-click is enabled I have to go to the extreme upper left of mousepad to click or it is interpreted as right-click. Won't consistently "scroll". Suggestions?

  • Imac keps awaking from sleep and I think its the magic mouse

    Hiya
My imac (2008) keeps waking up and I think its the magic mouse doing it. Does anyone have any ideas and solutions?
    Happy Days
    Stuart

    Hello um:
The logs will indicate what is happening. I have a similar problem (rare, but it happens). I have traced the wake event to a USB hub that contains the Bluetooth hardware. I ignore the issue as it happens infrequently. I do not know of a setting that would cause this to happen.
You could try trashing a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restarting. That probably will not help, but it will not hurt anything.
