Why is the manufacturer of RAM 'important'?
I'm browsing the RAM upgrade threads and there are many saying things like 'this manufacturer is better than that', or 'you get what you pay for' etc. etc.
In what way does the philosophy 'you get what you pay for' map to RAM? If all the RAM chips (compatibile with a particular iMac) from the different manufacturers have exactly the same specifications then why is one better than another?
How can you tell either before you purchase or after that you have got a good or a not so good pice of memory?

I have just downloaded iTunes for 64-bit Windows 7, 7 times and I and got this error message:
"The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall."
This is a new hard drive, and there are no other CD burning software installed other than Windows Media Player which was pre-installed...There has never been any conflicts with any of the other previous versions of iTunes with WMP. I have reinstalled iTunes about 7 times and have come to the conclusion that the software is faulty, because all 7 times, I continuously get the exact same error message. This version of iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone, iTouch, iPad, or Apple TV. My music however is stored in the cloud, but having to constantly download 6,000 plus songs over and over again is time consuming and really a waste of data.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

So I used to have an iPhone 5 with 7000+ photos inc videos. I finally decided to free up some memory by exporting the entire camera roll into a specific folder on my windows pc. In the album are all the photos and videos, matching the content from my camera roll (obviously). Now I have the 5S and would like the entire library of photos back into my photos app. So obviously it was as simple as plugging in my iPhone and clicking the photos tab, then 'Sync Photos from' and choosing that specific folder that I had previous exported my camera roll into. I then ticked the include videos checkbox. After the sync was completed, I then went onto my photo album and found the correct album being listed. However the number of photos on the iphone album did not match the number of photos in the actual album on my windows pc. Then I realised the reason.. the videos have not transferred? I've tried resyncing several times. iTunes identifies the album to exist the correct number of photos/videos as it should do, yet my iphone still has not imported any videos. Is there anything i'm doing wrong?! Thanks in advance for any help.

Why is the size of 1400 imported CD songs 10 GBS?
We imported over 1400 songs from CDs through iTunes and the file size is over 10GBs and its slowing down my windows PC. We didn't change any import settings and the reading I've done on-line is confusing. How can we make the imported music smaller file size? I need to get this huge file size off my hd but want to know how to import in the future without the files being huge. Everyone else I know doesn't have this issue and they download songs all the time without any problems or the files taking up so much space. What are we doing wrong???? I am getting desparate since Apple phone support has not been helpful.
My music collection currently consists of 10,931 songs and takes up 84.95GB of space. If you break that down, it's equal to 7.77MB per song. If you multiply that by 1400 songs you would have 10.87GBs worth of songs. It looks to me like your music is taking up a "normal" amount of space. Your friends may not be having this issue for several reasons.
1. They may not have as many songs.
2. If they are downloading songs from unlicensed places, the song quality may be not be as good as what you have.
In short, I would suggest that you aren't doing anything wrong. If you are familiar with the import settings, if you import as MP3s rather than Apple's AAC format, your file size will shrink but that will likely take quite a while for not a huge reduction in space. If your PC is acting slowly, it likely isn't due to the large size of your music collection unless your hard drive is approaching full (95% full sort of thing). I hope that helps you out a little. -

You may not have changed the destination folder permissions. It may have always been "read only or you're selecting the wrong folder in the Import Destination path. It helps us to help you if you provide information about your system OS,etc. -
Why does the font change when importing to my ipad as a pdf
I have a publisher document with black chancery font which was not on my current computer so I installed the font. It now appears in my document and when I save it as a pdf it seems to be there. BUT when I send it to my iPad the font is not what it should be.
You need to make sure the font is embedded in the PDF. This is optional in some sofware.
If it is not embedded, your local font is used. No such local font exists on the iPad. -
I have an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes.
All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem. The movie in question is not 'corrupt' as you can watch it in iMovie direct from the SD card but as soon as you try to import it, it just says 'error'. iIve tried moving the file to an external drive ( and other variations on this theme) then importing but have had no luck.
Can anyone please help me.The mystery remains....

I have now found some video converter software (Wondershare and iSkysoft) at a cost. Either will convert this file for me into .mp4. This I can then import into iMovie without any problems. I've checked this on the trial versions and it worked well but without paying am left with a giant watermark in the video
The mystery (which I still havent solved) is why did 20 other .mts files import fine and then this one not?
If you could point me in the direction of some free .mts converter software that would be the cherry on the cake.

Mac OSX, 10.7.5, LR 5.6 After creating a new folder in the Destination section and importing images, the new folder name appears as 2010, no matter what name I give it. Why is it doing this?
I am experiencing Mavericks failing to copy subdirectories from usb sticks, I am backing up game saves from a console. Both sticks I use are fine, same permissions of course since the console wrote the files. Sometimes it copies, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be related to the mounting process.
Thank God Apple hasn't (yet) broken bash. -

I dont know if you have your music on your other computer was on itunes, but if it was, make sure that you signed into your itunes account on your other computer. If you are signed in then your music should show up in your library. -
Why is the audio on my video getting out of sync when it is imported into itunes?

I have videos in the MP4 Format, and have imported them into itunes. However, during playback in itunes, the audio gets more and more out of sync as the video plays. By the end of the film the audio can be 5-6 seconds out!
What's strange is that the source file, played with quicktime or Windows media player, is fine and works perfectly.
Why is the audio stretched once it is imported?

Video: Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200
HDMI Audio through the HDMI port out to the TV.
Tried on Windows 7 Pro 32bit and Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit.
Tried with the integrated ALC889A audio device enabled and disabled (It seems that the video card drives the HDMI audio device though, because it still appears in Windows even if I disable the Audio device in BIOS).
Latest iTunes and drivers installed.
I have already tried all sugestions about matching Windows Audio settings to iTunes settings (bit depth, frequency rate).
Apple, any suggestions? I'm not having a great customer experience after buying a pair of HD movies in iTunes. -
Why is the folder strukture based on the import date, and not on the Creation date? How can i setting this?
What folder structure?
If you're referring to how Aperture stores the originals in a managed library then the answer is you can't change it.
If having the originals stored in a specific file structure is important to you you will need to switch to a referenced original setup. -
The Projects screen to import and export SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration
Hello:
On my SAP Discovery Server, On the Projects screen to import and export SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP xMII) projects.
Under the projects listed I see one Default project, is listed as a System Project.
I did an import and used one of the sample application, along with the ExportManifest.xml file.
"You can create an external project structure, include it in a zip file, and import it as a new project. You do not need an ExportManifest.xml file to import a project."
Now I see two projects listed as System Projects, is that ok, would that cause any issues? Is there any way that I could correct this?
Note:
If you import a project that already exists, the system overwrites the current project structure and files.
You can import hidden projects that do not appear on the Projects screen or in the SAP xMII Workbench. System-defined projects may appear in the Projects screen and in the SAP xMII Workbench, but you cannot delete them. You can import a project with the same name as a hidden or system-defined project and overwrite its properties. If you do this, they are no longer considered to be hidden or system-defined projects.
Thank you,You could consider creating a project and exporting it to see the proper format of the zip file, including the ExportManifest. You should find attributes in the xml for setting the description, system type, etc.

Why are the planned orders not displayed anymore. They are still in the system - in MD04 - but since we moved from release 3.1i to 4.0 the plan order qty disappeared from transaction MCP9!!!!.Now we are using Version 4.7

Perhaps searching in SAP OSS system -if the transaction is not supported in rel 4.0 anymore and we should use something else instead
Or we need to apply an OSS note from SAP to repair the problem...
Or the info system update must be modified because of rel change... I don't know.

Mail unread Count out of Synch
I synch my mail with an Exchange server. My Inbox and two other folders alway show 1 unread (Inbox has got 3 unread). "Mark All Messages as Read" doesn't change the unread count. Rebuild, restart mail doesn't help neither- Any clue? Michael
