Why is the option to import/export bookmarks not there?
I'm trying to import my old bookmarks from a HTML or JSON file (I have both) into Firefox 6 under Ubuntu. The following page should explain how:

However the button Import/Export doesn't show up in the bookmarks library. Instead, there's just gray nothingness. What is causing this and how do I fix it?
Yes, the original reply is a little unclear. What you have to do is make sure your menu bar is showing. That's the bar with File, Edit, History, etc. If not, Click Firefox on the top left to drop down the menu and click View then Toolbars, then Menu Bar. Now the bar with your menus should show on the top. Then click the Bookmarks Menu which will drop down your bookmarks and a couple commands at the top. One of these is "Show All Bookmarks." When you click that you will see the "Import and Backup" dropdown. You can click that and pick what you want to do from there. This seems to apply to Firefix for Windows 6+ but they failed to include it in their Help Instructions.

Ubuntu 11.04 displays window menus in the control bar at the top of the screen<br />
Click on Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks then move your mouse to the left upper corner toward Firefox Web Browser.<br />

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

* clearing your history at end of session, cache is the only one you would want to clear at end of session, if you don't want to lose things
There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
* Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
* You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
* "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above) -

Why aren't my scanned photos showing up in iphoto? I have an HP scanner with the option to import directly to iphoto. It says "sending to destination" but it never gets to iphoto. I scanned hundreds of photos several months and it worked fine with the photos going directly into iphoto - now it won't work. Any suggestions?
As the feature is part of your scanner set up nd not iPhoto, you'd need to ask the makers of that for help.

I'm having trouble importing pictures from the internet....when I drag the picture to the icon, it gives me the option to import all duplicates. Even when I click "NO", it STILL imports every picture I have imported AGAIN, including the new one! WHY??

Wild guess: you're using the the wrong export settings. You'll need to tell us more before we can help you - like the export settings you're usng, the size and format of the originals etc.

I have lost the option to add to bookmarks bar. I tried going to safari settings and selecting show bookmarks bar but that is not an option any longer and it only gives show favourites bar. I've only had my iPad for a few months and it's my first apple computer. Likely user error and any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
Well I feel silly. You were right. And didn't help that my titles for some were too long. Once I got rid of some the newer ones I'd tried to add popped up. Thank you!

The feature to export SWF files directly from After Effects has been removed. It never worked at all well.
To create SWF files, use Flash Professional.
If you want to play a movie that you've created in After Effects in a SWF container, then export your composition using Adobe Media Encoder in H.264 format and then link or embed that movie into a SWF file in Flash Professional. -
I purchased creative lightroom presets. I see the zip file in my download file and I try to import to LR but it just keeps creating a bundle never giving me the option to import (greyed out). What am I doing wrong?
Try unzipping the file first. I have no idea regarding your level of technical expertise so advanced apologies if this is really basic. A ZIP file is a compressed file containing one of more files within it. To access the files you will need to expand it. If you double-click on it first, it should open up for you. If it does not automatically expand, you can select the files and copy them to a new folder. The copy will unload them into an uncompressed form. Once they have been uncompressed, you should be able to import them.
If the import is still giving you problems, go to your Preferences, click on the Presets tab and click the Show Presets Folder button. You can then copy your purchased presets into the folder shown. You will want to copy them to the User Presets subfolder. -

Why is the option to reject cookies non-existent on 3.6.8? On all previous versions I could reject the bad cookies and now you take a great feature away, WHY?

My mistake. This is how it used to work for me in Reader: I hovered over SAVE AS and there used to be an option to save as an IMAGE, and hovering over IMAGE gave me the option to save as a jpg.
So you are suggesting that this all used to happen in Acrobat or AIR, or something?
What I’m trying to do and what I used to do is create a word doc, then save it as a pdf, then convert it to jpg.

I am not aware of a heart, square, circle or lasso shape i=for editing in iphoto for the Mac - Maybe you are thinking of iPhoto for IOS which has been discontinued and is not available under IOS 8
