Why is the refresh button in such a terrible spot, now? Why is it so small? Why is it just like IE?

This has got to be the worst change ever. Is there a hotkey for refreshing?

If you do not want it in the location bar, customize the toolbar and move it elsewhere. Right-click on a toolbar, select Customize, then drag and drop the refresh button to where you want it. If you drag it from the location bar it becomes a distinct button again instead of the combined stop/refresh/go button.

  • Why is the refreshing button on iCloud Mail all the way below at the left corner?

    The refreshing button on iCloud Mail service is at the left corner in the bottom. I sometimes click the windows start button instead of refreshing button. They are so close. At all e-mail services, the refreshing button comes at the top and close to all other most necessary buttons. It has to be changed because it *****.

  • Why is the Refresh Button missing in the Firefox upgrade I just got??

    There has always been a Refresh button in the toolbar at the top. It is not there anymore and I want it back. Please supply it.

    If you look at the very end of the address area, after the star, you should see a reload button. Actually, it changes depending on the page status: after loading, it's reload, during loading it's stop, and if you start typing into the address box, it turns into go.
    If you prefer separate buttons, you can use the Toolbar customization feature to move the combined button away from the end of the address box and/or split the reload and stop (change the sequence to prevent them from recombining).
    View menu > Toolbars > Customize
    If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key or press F10 to display the classic menu bar.
    In some cases, it is easier to press Ctrl+r or the F5 key than to find the little button.

  • Why is it when I go to a website, it shows a blank page until I hit the refresh button?

    When I visit any website, at first, it shows nothing and stops loading. It is not until I hit the refresh button that the site will load. It is like I have to visit the page twice before it works. I have checked my connections, inside and out. I have called my ISP and had them run some tests. I have downloaded Firefox again and re-installed. I have also cleared my cookies/cache completely and the problem persists.

    Don't know. What kind of player?

  • Why the "refresh" button works like that?

    Hi, I set up a index.jsp, which includes two frames one is top.html for the picture and one is the main.jsp for log-in.
    In the main.jsp:
    <FORM METHOD=post action ="confirm.jsp" >
    <input type=TEXT name=newName size = 20>
    <input type=password name=newpass >
    After the user put user name and passwd, the main.jsp will goto confirm.jsp and show some data. Now I find though it go to the confirm.jsp but in the browser address, it still shows that it is index.jsp and if I put the refresh button, it will come back to index.jsp. I need put the username and passwd again.
    I think it may related to the frame I set up in the index.jsp but I am not sure. Thanks.
    Below is the index.jsp code:
    <html>
    <frameset rows="35,*" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0">
    <frame name="topFrame" scrolling="NO" resize src="top.html" marginheight="1" marginwidth="1" >
    <frame name="mainFrame" src="main.jsp" frameborder="YES">
    </frameset>
    <noframes>
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
    </body>
    </noframes>
    </html>

    Hi,
    It's actually normal the url in the browser stays the same. It's only the frame itself which is redirected. If you want to redirect the whole page, you've got to add target="_top" to your <FORM> tag.
    Hope this helps,
    Kurt.

  • How has moving the Home button and the refresh button improved Firefox? Peo grow accustomed to the location of features, moving them does not improve the browser.

    Moving the location of features such as the Home button and the sometimes refresh button does not improve the function of the browser. It simply forces users to re-learn the location of these features and put up with the associated inconvenience. Why, what have you gained?

    what a ridiculous reply. moving the home button is a pain when it has been on he left for many years now. why the change? are you trying to mimic ie? i hope not.
    it doesn't create more space on the toolbar - in fact he default setting for firefox 4 removes space. by moving the home buttons and other buttons back it increases the space back to where it was before.
    also why did the history button change to be a button on its own rather thn attached to the forward / back buttons?
    to say it's not worth changing it for one person is a nonsense answer. i know loads of people who say it sucks so have had to customize it to change it back to how it was.

  • How do I customize the Refresh Button in Firefox 29?

    In Firefox 29, the refresh button is permanently embedded in the address bar's field on the far right. On large monitors, this is very inconvenient.
    In most cases, the URL of the current website does not reach beyond the 1024 pixel mark, and even if it does, the far right-hand portion of any given URL is usually the least significant part of the web address.
    Particularly in Right-To-Left language versions of Firefox, a user's attention is heavily focused on the leading portion of the URL, on the far left of the browser window.
    Why is the user forced to break attention from the leading edge of the address bar, and find the far right-hand side of the address field (which can vary in length), AND THEN target the mouse on the very small refresh icon?
    Why is the user forced to lift their hands from a resting position on the keyboard, to find the F5 key to refresh the page?
    If the iser is already looking at the URL bar, and the refresh is located directly to the left of the address bar, this makes refreshing the page with the mouse a lot more convenient.
    Please allow the position of the refresh buttong to be configurable in future versions. There's no legitimate reason to lock down the refresh button.
    Thank you.

    I cannot enable Classic Theme Restorer. After a month, it still breaks Colorful tabs, all of my tabs are either clear or the same color except for the currently selected tab and pinned tabs. Yes, colorful tabs is that important. It helps me organize and tell my tabs apart. My other problem is that every time I open the customize menu tab now, my toolbars get rearranged from address bar at the top, bookmarks toolbar, and yahoo toolbar with tabs below. When I select or open the customize menu tab, the tool bars get rearranged to yahoo tollbar on top and address bar on bottom. Simply closing Firefox or restarting it fixes the problem, but it makes customizing a problem. I recently installed Adblock Plus to fix a hanging and freezing problem. I keep my add ons-extensions and plug ins up to date and am running the latest version of Firefox non-beta. I am on Windows 8.1 and run with many tabs, but have selected in options the, "do not load tabs until selected" option. I really think you guys need to scap Firefox 29 and go back to 28 and rebuild from there. Stop trying to satisfy or appel to developers and programmers. They are the minority of users. The majority of users use the Internet, computers, and browsers, including Firefox as a tool to do their work. Ignoring that idea, or forging ahead the developer way in spite of this has been a major failing of the IT community and was the cause of the problems with Internet Explorer, Windows Vista, Windows 8, and now OS X, and now Firefox 29. Matching the Chrome rapid release cycle was a mistake. Simply releasing updates more often was the answer, not trying to imitate the competition. I don't use IE or Chrome often because they load all tabs on open, and Chrome is not faster unless you turn off Java, Flash, and everything that makes the Web vibrant and interesting. Congratulations on joining the two big crap browsers out there. Being most used does not mean being the most liked. Firefox was the most liked until it tried to be the most popular. I'm a teacher, and I can tell you, the popular kids are also the most shallow and superficial....

  • How do you move the refresh button?

    I can't believe anyone would have been so moronic to make it fixed in such a stupid place, so how do I move it? Seems to be getting worse than IE now, and I thought its main attraction was its ability to be customised?
    Come on, wake up!

    Thanks, I'm glad there is some common sense somewhere, totally daft, it is easier to use F5 than the refresh button out in the desert by itself.
    I'm glad they don't design cars, they would put the gas pedal in the trunk, and the parking brake under the hood :)
    I don't see the logic in having to have an add-on co customise a "customisable" application

  • The REFRESH button is missing, and No I do not mean RELOAD !

    Here is a simple test...
    Go to my work site :
    www.scforeclosures.com
    Click on Bank Properties, then click on a city. Hit the "reload" button . It goes BACK to the main page.
    Open Firefox, do the same thing but use the "refresh" button. See the difference ?
    I cannot believe Safari has removed this.....wow

    So what's the sudden change? Why the need to change the schematics so that Refresh is now a reload command ? Anyone know why would developers need to do this?

  • I cannot find the Refresh button; please help me!

    In the new version of Firefox, I absolutely cannot find the "Refresh" button, anywhere.
    Where is it?
    Thanks so much, for your help.

    I still can't find it....I like the old version better :( Please where on the toolbar do you type it? Why can't the buttons just BE there like before?

  • Disable the Refresh Button. Please Help.

    Folks
    I need to solve a problem.
    I have an applet that takes on data from the user and click on
    the submit button.
    Now,I would like to disable the refresh button on the browser so that
    the user cannot refresh.
    Is it possible to disable the refresh button thru the applet?
    or via JavaScript?
    Please can anyone tell me how to do this??

    Hi
    I do not think it is possible to disable refreshing altogether. You might simulate something that looks the same by running the applet with 100%/100% dimension and launching that in a new browser window that has all the controls disabled, but that's not really a solution. It's more obfuscating.
    Why can't you store the values entered into the applet as a cookie? Then if the applet is refreshed init() will be called, check for cookies there and restore the state.
    Greets
    Bhun.

  • How do I get Firefox to view the latest version of webpages when I return, instead of having to click on the refresh button?

    I couldn't find the option to choose on Firefox to view the latest version of web pages automatically each time I return. I've been needing to hit the refresh button.

    You can make Firefox always reload a page by changing a hidden preference.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # In the filter box type '''frequency''' to bring up a small number of preferences
    # Double-click on the preference '''browser.cache.check_doc_frequency''' and change its value to '''1'''
    For more details on that preference see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.check_doc_frequency

  • Disable/Hide the Refresh Button in Child report

    Hi All,
    Our Environment is BOXI-R2;
    We have a Master Report calling a Child Report (based on Open Document);
    Our requirement is to hide the" Refresh Button "in the child report Layout
    we tried using "hideRefresh=true"
    but the child report is not responding to the above clause
    Help us in this,
    if this is a BUG in XI R2, let us know the Service Pack details
    Thanks

    Joe , Thanks for your Inputs..
    our master report has the aggregated Measure , when the user clicks on this , it has to open a child report (with paramters from master report).
    We are aware of customizing "viewer.js " file (under BO install home) with "refreshDocIcon = null".
    But is this the only solution to hide the refresh button in the child report ?
    SInce its already a PRODUCTION environment, our customer won't allow to change the standard settings of the product.
    Thanks

  • Help! My email push isn't working even when I hit the refresh button!

    Please help me. I got a Palm Pixi in December. It worked perfectly until about 2 weeks ago. It suddenly stopped pushing my email, including when I hit the refresh button! I spent many many hours on the phone with both verizon and palm, we tried starting and restarting the phone, removing and adding my accounts, we even tried a partial wipe of the phone. Nothing worked. So both verizon and palm assured me that my brand new phone must be defective, they sent me a new palm pixi promising me that my email push problems were a fluke and that it would never happen again. I got my new phone a week ago, it worked fine until yesterday- the same push problem is back! I've been on live chat with a palm technician for almost 2 hours now, we've set and reset my email settings, we've reset the account settings in the phone, and it still doesn't work!
    Please somebody, tell me what the fix is for this!
    I need this phone for my job.
    Because this problem didn't start until the end of my 30 day trial period, I can't exchange this phone now, and I can't afford to pay retail price for a new phone so I'm stuck with this phone even though this problem is not my fault!! I have to make this work!
    Verizon and Palm promised me that this problem would never happen again, that it was a one time fluke based on a defective(though brand new device)- based on this assurance, I exchanged phone and now I am stuck. I spent hours on the phone on monday with palm support updating/changing my email settings on the phone and when that didn't work he sent me the webos doctor instructions via email to try on my own.  I did that last night, and guess what?  It still didn't work!  As per usual, the solution either doesn't work at all, or it works for a bout an hour and then stops working.
    Help!
    Thanks

    First verify that all your email settings are correct as they may have changed.
    Service provider settings frequently change. If your email account was working but you are currently experiencing problems, check with your service provider to find out whether any of the account settings have changed. You may need to manually change some email settings on your device.
    Next, update the PRL on the device by dialing *228 send and option 2.
    If the  problems persist,  try doing a Master Reset on the device.
    Master Reset
    Tap and slide finger up on center gesture area
    Slide screen to the left twice
    Tap Device Info
    Tap and slide screen up to show Reset Options
    Tap Reset Options
    Select from the following Options:
    Restart - Will restart device
    Shut down - Will power off device
    Partial Erase - Warning: Erases applications you installed and all application settings and data. Does not erase personal files stored on the USB Drive.
    Full Erase - Warning: Erases applications you installed and all application settings and data. Also erases personal files stored on the USB Drive.

  • In the latest version of Pages (5.0) I cannot find the refresh button to update a chart copied from Numbers (also latest version 3.0). Can anyone help?

    In the latest version of Pages (5.0) I cannot find the refresh button to update a chart copied from Numbers (also latest version 3.0). I saved my Numbers document before copying to Pages. Can anyone help?

    I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
    An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
    I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
    If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.
    Thanks for catching my misunderstanding.
    Bill
