?Why is the sorting feature in Libray mode so limited?

I truly love to work with lighroom
However, I hope that in the next adbobe update , that a more advanced but fundamental search/sort feature is added to the library mode.
specifically - in Library mode --under folders -- there is no way to sort the folders other than alphabetically
why not -- like most, even primitive photo editing software, can one not sort by date, time taken, place etcetc ... at least by date!!

Thanks – I am aware of that sorting function and do use it
I probably did not phrase my question correctly
In the left hand panels in LR –
If one chooses Folders and then as an example “ My Pictures”
There should be a simple approach to sort the order of the folders by Date Taken etc?
I guess one can work around it – but it seems to simple – I do not understand why Adobe does not include this sorting option
Other programs in photo editing  do …..
Thanks

    Until recently, I was able to watch both SnagFilms and Hulu within the Safari Browser successfully.  In both movie sites, I no longer get video and am asked to download Adobe Flash Player (which I already have 14.0.0.125) but my system indicates that Plug-In PPADI has not been installed?...
    The problem is that your Flash Player is not current. Check this to see what the current version is (vs what you have) and here to get the latest version. There is supposed to be a major security issue in the version you've got so Apple is blocking its use. In any case, don't get Flash Player from anywhere except Adobe.

    I only must have back the sort feature via file names, lost in PhSE 11 (my current version). !! Shame o the one who have had this  stupid idea, far away from any situation in practice! Why I have now to  pay so much money for an upgrade to PE12??

  • Why does the highlight feature seem not to work about 1/2 the time in various ibooks.  I'm trying to take notes and about 50 pages into a book the highlight feature stopped working.

    I've long noted that the highlight feature in ibooks is clunky and fairly limited in it's note-taking features, but the last two books I've read I've had trouble getting the highlight feature to work at all.  I click and drag over text and nothing happens.  I try with command depressed and nothing happens.  If I double click a bunch it will eventually highlight one word, but nothing more.  What gives?
    Also, not to be snarky, but why can't I seem to find a button that would read text to speach for me?  How do blind people use this service, or illiterate, or dyslexic, or people like myself who can learn far more from hearing then from reading.
    And why does the text of a book often render so that it's haf cut off of the page?

    There is a button for speech within the iBooks menu. Edit > Speech. You might be better off buying Audiobooks. You can get them from the iTunes Store or Audible.com

  • Why is the "sign" feature in my Adobe Reader XI not working?

    I have dowloaded Adobe XI, and the "sign" feature is "grayed out". Do I need to activate this feature, or do I need to upgrade?

    Where did you download the Adobe Reader from? Someone can upload a "Customized" copy.
    Regarding the grayed out EchoSign features, you should check the following location for feature lockdown:
    Registry entry by searching for "featurelockdown" key;
    Group policy change (GPO);
    One can also easily remove or restore the "Sign" icon, the "Tools" icon, the Adobe online features, the acrobat.com cloud features from the menu, etc.
    You should be able to use the EchoSign on any PDF files. I tried various files:
    "Secured" PDF file;
    "Signed" PDF file;
    PDF snapshot from image/photo;
    any converted to PDF file;
    any print dump to PDF; etc..
    Adobe Reader XI is very powerful. I can use it to modify any PDF file regardless whether it is secured. I can make the change as a part of the document, not as a comment/annotation so that you can not tell I am doing the forgery.
    But the default official Adobe package or online installation should be have the EchoSign features active.

  • Why is the ITunes Store in South Africa so limited

    why is the ITunes Store in South Africa so limited

    Apple can only sell content where the rights-holders grant them licenses to sell it (and in some cases a country's laws also limit things). If there is a particular item that is not currently available that you would like to be able to download then you try requesting that it be added, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
    For music you could check to see if its available on other music purchase downloads sites that you have access to (or if it's available as a CD then you could buy that and copy it via your computer's iTunes).
    For ebooks there are other ebook apps/stores where it might be available e.g. Amazon/Kindle, Nook, Kobo etc

  • Why is the sorting so limited?

    In iTunes when sorting  you are only able to sort by one catagory. My difficulty is I have a large library with mostly Classical music in it. When I sort by album it inverts the order of play so as the 4th movement of a symphony is played first and the first last. What I require is some way to sort the album and the order in which the name is needed to be played. I've tried numbering at the start of the name. All this does when sorting by album is to list all the 01 through whatever number is the end only to get all the 01's lumped together.

    Thanks

  • Why is the image cropped in landscape mode

    Hi - I made video from a collation of youtube clips and transcoded it to iPad default settings in FCPX but when I view it on iPad the image along with the subtitles are cropped in landscape mode, why is that when the transcode settings list iPad 3 as included. How, or what do I need to do to fix this problem please.

    The iPad display is 2048x1536 pixels which is 4x3 aspect ratio. When you display a 1280x720 video which is 16x9 aspect ratio you will get bars at top and bottom of the iPad screen. Any attempt to fill the screen by scaling etc will cause you to lose part of the frame edges. You have not stated what your project properties were in FCP. If they were 1920x1080 or 1280x720 then you might try an SD project ie 4x3 and see what sharing does for that. I haven't tried it but I suspect it will be 4x3 and fill your iPad screen. The issue may be the aspect ratio of your youtube clips. If they are wide screen which I suspect then you would see the bars in FCP storyline and your are back to the same issue when you export. You could in this case use the transform tools etc in FCP to fill the screen and pan the clips to not lose subtitles. It's a fiddling process. Hope this clarifies a bit.

  • Why is the shuffle feature omit songs on both of my Nano's

    Both of my nano's have about 1900 songs on them, but when I choose "shuffle songs" and play all of my music or even a large playlist several songs are ommitted. For example, if I select "shuffle songs" and play "all" my nano displays "1 of 1450"; when I play "all" with shuffle turned off it displays "1 of 1900". About 400 songs aren't played when shuffle is on. Why is this happening?
    Nano   Windows 2000
      Windows 2000

    You may have songs that are tagged (Get Info -> Options) as "Skip When Shuffling".
    If you don't have ANY songs that you want to be skipped when shuffling, then easiest fix is to select the entire iTunes library, Get Info, then on the little pull downs at the bottom of the window that pops up is one "Skip When Shuffling". Check the check box next to NO to make all the song with this feature turned off. Then resync the iPod.

  • Why does the Chat feature never work?  Does Vorizon actually have people working to assist their customers?  Terrible customer service.

    Good morning,
    I have serious concerns about the customer service I receive from Vorizon Wireless.  We have gone into a store to talk to someone, but no one offered to assist us.  ****-poor.  Now, I am trying to figure out a usage issue and your live chat feature is not working.  If you offer the feature, why not have it usable???
    Thanks.
    Tim

    In most cases the chat service will take you a Sales Rep. I ahve learned that the sales reps on chats are for Sales. Unlike Customer Care and Store reps, the chat reps are only given information that pertain to the online order process. I have been told they do not have access to Prepaid Accounts, they cannot make changes on accounts, they cannot even place an order for you, they can simply guide you through and explain the steps. They can explain plans and what not as those pertain to sales, but for anything else it is best to call Customer Service. There are service chats but those are ungodly difficult to get into.

  • Why does the "find" feature suck in Lion?

    In Leopard, I'd type "apple f" and could find my files easily.   Now when I use "apple f" and type in a file name, dozens of files come up that have nothing to do with what I typed in.  Sometimes, even files that have the exact name won't show up at all!  Now I have to add parameters such as search by name or name "is" or "contains" to even get close to the file I'm looking for, but Leopard used to default to that, which of course made sense.  I know they added the apple space bar searching method in Lion but I can't use that when I'm trying to attach a file to an email and the results list is smaller.  I used to love how easy it was to find any file on my mac, now it's a chore.  Am I missing something?!

    I can tell why Cmd-F blows; because Apple has figured out a better way of doing the same search.
    Cmd-F used to be the preferred way to search for system files, but the searches can be inconsistent. Don't waste your time. Instead, use the key combination Cmd-Space to bring up Spotlight; this will bring up all of the relevant files, as well as web searches, and will even group the searches for your convenience.
    Cmd-F is still a great tool if, say, you're using a browser like Safari; this will search a page and highlight pieces of text.
    If this information doesn't suck, or even if it does, post here so others can access this same info in the future!

  • Why does the autosum feature in acrobat return an answer of NaN when customers save their pdf form?

    I have created a form with the auto-sum feature. The form has been saved as a pdf and is being sent out to customers. When I fill out the form all fields work correctly but some forms that are being returned get a value of 'NaN' in one of the auto-sum currency fields. What would be causing this on some forms and not all?

    Without seeing the form it would be pretty hard to tell beyond what was stated.
    Are any of the users using a mobile device to fill in the form?
    It is possible the non-Adobe mobile users are manually adding up the fields and entering the string currency symbols and thousand separators, either of which could cause this error.

  • Why does the MSB toggle in serial mode when parity is enabled?

    Hello everyone,
    I created a small VI to read 1 byte of data across an RS-422 port. The data is then passed via a queue to another VI which displays the byte read.
    I have been testing the functionality of the VIs using HyperTerminal, and they seem to be OK when I have the parity in the VI and HT set to 'none'. When I set it to 'odd' or 'even' parity, however, the most significant bit toggles at every send. That is, when I repeatedly hit the spacebar, I get alternating values back of 0x20 and 0xA0.
    Does anyone know why it is doing this? I'm assuming it's something simple that I'm just missing, but I cannot figure it out.
    I've attached the 2 VI's so that you can try this yourself. (c

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    We routinely see this behavior with hyperterm where the MSB alternates with both built-in and add-in COM ports across different brands of serial hardware. I believe this is a bug in the hyperterm application itself and not related to LabVIEW since we can reproduce it using two hyperterm sessions.

  • On eBAY, I can't use the sort feature, or enlarge, or watch this item - I used to be able to do this with firefox and all of the sudden it stopped working. I think it was the latest update to Mozilla Firefox. What can I do?

    eBAY has stopped working the way it used to with Firefox, my browser. Sort, enlarge photo, watch this item - they all don't work anymore.
    == URL of affected sites ==
    http://ebay.com

    Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
    My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
    I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
    Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".
