Why is the speaker connection wizzard wrong??

I have creative T7900 speakers, which connect through the 4 different coloured cables. My speakers screwed up earlier so I thought I'd run through the speaker connection wizard again. Why does it only seem to think there are 3 cables? It ignores the grey cable and seems to be telling me all 7 speakers and the subwoofer should be working through 3 and sothe side channels don't work.
Please help me out on this, I'm sure someone must know. Please. Thanks.

Thank you. You would be surprised how many times a Google search will land a person here on the forum, and if the answer is found in a thread, they don't have to take the time to post their question. Glad you got the phone working, and have a nice day.

Why is the Apple Weather App wrong for low temps in Albuquerque, NM?
Low temp is always displays about 10 degrees too low.

The reason for the problematic weather prediction in Apple is simple and disturbing at the same time.
    1. Traditionally Apple gets its weather data from Yahoo! they do so regardless to the fact that Yahoo is not a weather company, this arrangement has historical reasons (and it has nothing to do with the accuracy or quality of service you as a user are getting from Apple weather).
    2. Yahoo! (not a weather company) gets its weather data from the Weather Channel.
    3. Weather Channel CEO (David Kenny) also serves as Yahoo board member. So good luck changing the Weather Channel Yahoo agreement.
    4. The iPhone build in weather app is one of the world most popular apps, The Weather Channel has no incentive to make the Apple weather app as accurate as The Weather Channel own app.
The result is – easy to use inaccurate weather app

  • Why are the SSL connections maxing out at 256?

We are running a test and the maximum number of SSL connections keeps stopping at 256, even though the RQThrottle is set to 1024. For HTTP, we are able to get to 1024 connections. It appears that we are able to "burst" above 256 connections for SSL, but the excess connections close and we always return to 256. Our test is creating 500 SSL connections.

  • Why is the speaker on my thunderbolt not working properly?

Only one side of the speaker on my Thunderbolt display appears to be working.  Any ideas how I can fix this?

FYI - I was able to resolve this issue after doing a little more research online.  I have no explanation as to why it occured, but the settings in my preferences (Output) had been switched to my internal speakers as opposed to the display speakers.  It seems you have to toggle them between the internal speakers and then back to the display speakers to get it to go back and function properly.  Viola!  Back in business.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

  • Classic 120gb - is the speaker connection different from other ipods?

I purchased my first iPod at the airport in October. As I was paying the guy said "do you want to buy any accessories?" I said I'd look when I got home from my holiday. He then said "you do know that the new Classic has a different docking thingy (he used a technical term I can't remember and said something about an extra pin) so most speakers will not work don't you?". He then added "wait until everyone brings out new speakers before buying anything".
I've tried looking but no one says anything about a new "docking thingy" was he pulling my leg? Did he see an over 40 year old buying a new gadget and think let's confuse her (it's working)?
Does anyone out there know what he was talking about?
Any suggestions on a lightweight speaker to take on holidays abroad and a more decent one for at home?
    Thanks

The answer to this may solve my problem. This week I replaced my knackered original IPod classic with the 12ok Classic. Great until I tried to connect it to the input jack in my car's stereo (A new Mazda) and found no output. I had used the Belking leads (not cheap) for the pst 6 montths to connect on various cars at home and on vacation in the US and no problems.
Tried son's Ipod classic - bought 4 months ago - and it worked in my car so contacted Ipod telephone support who said the connections are different and the cable would not work with my new.
He said the explanation was a ocmplicated one but that I would have to get an alternative cable and mentioned getting support in an Apple store.
I went on the Apple Store website - where I bought the Ipod - and found no mention of Apple recommended accessories and the "vies" of people who had had similar problems - but no definite answer.
Looks like a drive to nofth London to the nearest Apple store then!!

  • WHy is the cursor jumping to wrong position (mainly back to position 1 in the text field) as I try to post comments to peoples posts on Facebook?

I love FIrefox browser and prefer to use it on all my devices, PC, Smart Tv, Phone, Tablet etc. In recent times Iv'e had problems though, everytime I try to comment on a facebook post with each key stroke the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the text field and by the time I finish typing I look up and find jibberish, yesterday I upgraded this RKM Mk902 Android device that I am typing on now unfortunately using Chrome from Anroid 4.2.2 to android 4.4.2 Kit-Kat and thought I would no longer have that problem but the issue is still there. I also have discovered I'm having similar problems with FireFox on my Cube U39GT tablet. As I spend more time on Facebook than any other website I have to find a solution. I thought it may of been one of the addons that i use causing the problems such as Phony but I still get the issue without the addons and after a clean install. Please help me sort out this problem so I can once more use FireFox on my Android devices.

I found this, it seems that there are a few issues in Android as well with the wrong placement for the cursor when you type: [https://github.com/RobinHerbots/jquery.inputmask/issues/465] but since it is only happening in facebook, this is odd.
What this means is that they are working on fixing specific issues like this and I am not sure when this will be fixed.
Does this happen with both keyboards that are offered in the Android Settings?

  • Why does the speaker in my IPAD 3 stop working intermittently?

The speakers on my IPAD 3 with the latest operating system sometimes stop wotking, then return later.  Why?

  • Why does the iPhone 5c display wrong time?

My iphone 5c currently started displaying the wrong time. I hadnt updated the software yet and thought this was the source of the issue. After the update was complete the time was still incorrect. I have tried syncing my phone with itunes, deleting world clocks, doing hard resets, even wiped the phone back to factory settings. Nothing has worked

Ok, so this is a two fold problem.  One just like brad805 pointed out you have to have Settings App > General > Date & Time > if Set Automatically is OFF > ON, if it was ON > OFF > Set Date & Time yourself (but when you bring up this screen to manually set time there is this little reminder about having location services set to ON for it to change time zones correctly).  So, leave it  Settings App > General > Date & Time > if Set Automatically is OFF > ON, now go back to Settings App>Privacy>Location Services>ON (if off).  Once I did this (which mine was off) and I went back to Date & Time instead of it thinking I was in New York, it now showed a very complicated America/Indiana/Indiana... (I suspect this is due to the fact that Indiana has 3 time zones EST, EDT (for the counties that observe) and CDT).  Now time is running automatic and smoothly.  This was on an iPhone 5c 16 GB running 7.1.2 on Verizon.  I hope this helps.
On a side note, its sad that techs in the store cannot read the screen and Apples little notes on it to help you out.

  • Why arent the wheels connected to Havok

Ok I am totally lost with this havok thing. I am trying to
understand what gets attached to the havok physics engine when
designing a car racing game. However, after downloading both the
jeep car and the remote control car games from director-online
havok archive site, I noticed something very stange. While trying
to decipher the code on both files it seems to me that the wheels
are not attached to the Havok physic's engine. Now I could be
wrong, but I wanted to ask you guys if this is correct, and if so,
then how do the wheels follow the car as well as stay on the ground
and without going through the ground? I am asking this becuase I
could not pick it out through its lingo. There are so many
behaviours attached to the 3d world that it is impossible to know
where Director starts to read each behaviour.
I understand a little bit about havok, such as if you want
something movable then you attach a movable rigid body to it and if
the object is fixed then you would attach the fixed rigid body to
it. In addition, I also know a little bit about mass which sets the
weight of the object. However, it seems to me that both of these
games are way too advamced for me especially when just for now all
I am trying to unserstand is how the wheels of a car can follow the
body of the car and also for the wheels to stay on the ground and
without them going through the ground.

    to use modelsUnderRay

    detection? What do you
    > think?
Actually, this RayCastCar demo uses modelsUnderRay() for
    collision
detection of the wheels with the ground:
    -- For each wheel do
    repeat with i = 1 to pWheelPointList.count
    pIsHoveringList
    = false
    worldWheelPoint = pChassisMDL.transform *
    pWheelPointList
    intersectDetails = pMember.ModelsUnderRay(worldWheelPoint,
    worldDownDir, 2, #detailed)
So the physics and control are applied to the chassis and the
    wheels are
just "floating". At which distance should they float is what
    modelsUnderRay() is used for.
This doesnt mean that you dont need Havok at
    all and you can use
modelsUnderRay() instead since havok handles all the driving
    physics and
MUR just the distance of the wheels to the chassis.

  • Why does the wireless connection on my desktop disconnect when I plug in my Ipod Touch?

Basically I just recently had my uncle build me a desktop computer and so far everything has been great but I noticed that everytime I plug in my iPod touch into it to charge it switches off my wirless adapter somehow making it impossible for my ipod to update or for me to use the internet. Then when I disconnect the iPod I can't firgue out how to switch the wireless adapter back one. Most of the time I have to use the windows troubleshoot to fix it. And sometimes it says that the wireless adapter had been reset or something?

I have the same issue.  I believe this is an issue that has only developed since the last ITunes update since I have had no problem prior to this.  I have isolated the problem to be a conflict between ITunes and the AE1000 driver.  I have found no solution yet.  If you do find a solution please notify me.  Thanks. • Why is the timeline numbering scheme wrong

I have zoomed in on a particular video and noticed as I zoom in the timeline numbering is not correct.   Here is a screen shot showing the issue:
In case you cannot see the numers the read as follows:
    00;00;26;00
    00;00;26;15
    00;00;27;00
    00;00;27;15
    00;00;28;00
    00;00;28;15
This is what I would expect the timeline to read:
    00;00;26;00
    00;00;26;50
    00;00;27;00
    00;00;27;50
    00;00;28;00
    00;00;28;50
If I zoom in further then the problem gets worse.  Has anyone else run into this.
    kfitz

    Kevin,
That is what I would expect with regards to TimeCode. For SMPT TimeCode, one has 00 (hrs.); 00 (min.); 00 (sec,); 00 (frames). As Neale points out, the 15 Frames is 1/2 of a second at 30 FPS, for NTSC. Those intermediate numbers would be 12 for PAL (in reality, halfway would be 12.5, but we cannot have half Frames in Video.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Why is the time remaining so wrong?

I've noticed over the past few years that the "Time Remaining" estimates from various applications in OS X are increasingly inaccurate - usually the estimate is too long!
This is true for apps from Itunes, to Disk Utility, to <on and on and on>. For example, I was just burning a DVD from a playlist in ITunes and when it started the "Finishing" part - it said "Might be up to an hour". It completed in 30 seconds.
Time estimates are just that - estimates - but do they have to be so wildly inaccurate as to be useless as a guide? I have a feeling nobody in the OS X world has looked at how they update the estimate in a long time, and they do not presently reflect the performance of either hardware or software.
Hey Apple!  Update the Time Remaining code! Please?
    David

Ignoring the boot progress bar (which I believe is an animation, at least it was in my old Tiger system), the progress bars are usually computed by specifying a range of values to produce a scaling factor and updated by supplying values within that range.  The amount of progress is determined by the supplied values within the range.
The segment of code responsible for supplying values is given control on some criteria within the algorithm doing whatever the progress is to measure.  There's potentially a lot of variables that can affect when this segment of code is called to update its progress.  With disk copies there's how fast the drives are, buffer sizes, what else is running that could interrupt the process, and who knows what else.  Certainly you should not expect the progress bar drawing to have a high priority in the grand scheme of things.  I'd rather the service be "obsessed" with its primary goal (whatever its service is to do) rather then keeping me constantly updated every millisecond taking valuable cycles from the primary task.

  • An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Stereo Airport Express G". The network connection failed.

When attempting to play iTunes 11.1.2 music wirelessly from my Mac Mini to stereo speakers connected to an AE "G" I get the following message: An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Stereo Airport Express G”.   However, when I attempt to play internet radio from an iPod Touch wirelessly to the same speakers connected to the same AE "G", it works fine.
Finally, when I swap out the "G" for an AE "N" connected to the same speakers Airplay works fine, both from the Mini and the iPod.
Why would the iPod connection work while the Mini connection not?

I have what sounds like a very similar issue.
I had my Denon 3312ci working perfectly with Airplay from my 2013 iMac running iTunes. Upgraded to iTunes 11.1.3, and now when I attempt to Airplay direct from iTunes to the 3312, it plays for about half a second and then stops. Displayed on the Amp then says "Assigning Network". The amp starts dropping ping packets at this point. About 15-20 seconds later the pings start coming back, but no Airplay.
I tried different network cables, resetting the microprocessor, a different switch, changing between DHCP and static IP. Was about to make a warranty call to Denon, when I thought maybe I should try Airplaying directly from iphone and ipad. Much to my surprise, it worked from those devices.
I prefer to use my iMac to Airplay rather than ipad/iphone as I found I got next to no audio drop outs using it that way (they are both using wired network), where as ipad/iphone occasionally would get a moment of silence in the middle of a song.
My network set up is fine. I can use internet radio and connect to DLNA services fine on the amp. It is just airplay between iTunes 11.1.3 and the amp where the issue lies.
No fixes as yet, but I have logged a support call with Denon Australia to see what they say.
