Why is the text going over the image when the text layer is below the image layer?? It is so frustrating.

Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.

Why is the Image in Canvas Square?

I have about a dozen video clips in my Sequence - they are all DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720x480. The sequence settings are 720x480 NTSC DV (3:2), Pixel Aspect Ratio NTSC - CCIR 601 - DV 720/480 and the Compressor DV/DVCPRO - NTSC.
Question: Why is the image in the Canvas square?

Hey, I just had this problem, I went into Settings -> Privacy-> Facebook (which is where I was saving photos from) -> turned it on, then back to settings -> Facebook-> and logged in. When I went back to Facebook and saved a photo and it saved to my camera roll. I haven't tried it with anything else yet though. Hope this helps!

Why can't I draw over imported images?

If someone could explain to me (in simple terms-I've only been using flash since friday and I don't know the names ofthings properly yet) why I can't draw over impoted images? I've animated something on paper and scanned in the frames. When I import them to flash it either deletes the line as soon as I draw it, or if I create a new layer the drawing stays in all frames, not just one. Pllllllease help, I'm desperate!

When you create a new layer, you can use keyframes to display the image in just one frame. Add a keyframe just after the frame where the image should not be displayed. So rightclick in that frame, and click add keyframe. Then in the new keyframe you can remove the image.
I believe you can use Flash to convert bitmap images to vector images, but I haven't used that function since Flash 2, so I don't know if that still exists. The result might be useless though if the images is too complex. But if it's okay, then you can edit the image itself. Otherwise draw on a layer on top of the image.

Is it possible to insert a text field over an image?

I am creating a web form, and I would like to insert a text field over an image - basically, the person completely the form will be able to see how the text she write will look on the image. Is this possible in FormsCentral? Or is there a work around?

Why do the images break up?

Hi All.
Since I have switched from my Mac Mini over to the new Intel Mac Mini 1.66GHz/1GB RAM/100GB HDD, my display shows very frequent strange image and text break-ups. I tried to take a screen picture, but that corrected it. I have been able to take a picture with my digital camera, but I can't post it hers.
Following the advice given by a friend who works with computers, I've reset the PMU, the PRAM. I've tried to change the resolution and now I'm at my wit's end. The image breaks up and all looks like piles of bricks. Highlighting it cleans it up.
I have owned many Macs over the years, currently still have my "old" Mini as well as two Powerbooks (all have driven the monitor flawlessly).
Help, please.

I am not sure about your trouble, but I have experienced some similar issues with my display on my PB. It often happen while scrolling up and down pages after a couple of hours of browsing. What happen to me is few lines of text or images getting jammed up, reproducing themselves, making them unreadable.
Effectively once a new window is over the "bricks effects" it refresh and disapear. I have been battling between repairs, and the tech can't see it because they are not using the comp, but just checking it by time to time.
I have added a shortcut of grab in my tool bar, every time my issue appears I drop everything and open grab and take a picture of the screen, as proof for the techs. The good thing about it is that you have the time and date captured with it.

Why are the images not printing from InCopy? Why is the relink button in Links panel ghosted?

I am having a problem with printing from Incopy. All stories are editable and that is working just fine. I am able to view the images although AD has set the graphics to not be editable yet I can still see them of course.
My problem is upon wanting to print the layout. Getting a message that the image links are missing. I have not moved the original folders (they are all set up on the same level in one main folder). I am working remotely, layout based workflow via dropbox.
My client would like to have the option to print layouts also initially. How can I relink the images if the "relink" button is ghosted. Can somebody help me please? I have tried doing a restart… Any ideas?

I went to "view" then "toolbars" and de-selected "yahoo toolbar" and then moved the curser over my firefox page and it now works completely including the problem area (the top 3 cm of each screen). Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how good I feel know on this otherwise cold, windy and rainy day.

Why wont the image rotate on my screen? Where is the lock?

The image stopped going to landscape on my 4s after installing 7.0.?. Is there a lock somewhere? I tried following on line directions but cannot find lock.

The orientation lock control is now located in the Control Center on your iPhone. If you swipe up from the bottom of the screen, you will see the option to lock or unlock the orientation:
Swipe up along the bottom of the screen to display Control Center (you can do this from any screen, including the Lock screen).
Tap the Screen Rotation Lock button.
If the button was highlighted, the button will appear dimmed after tapping it.

When moving to Aperture 3, why upgrade the imaging system all at once?

I have been reading about the library migration issues when upgrading to Aperture 3 and my question is this: what is the advantage, if any, of attempting to migrate all the images instead of just upgrading the database and tackling the images as needed? For example, with a 60 gig library of previously edited images, why would I bother migrating all the images when I could simply do that one image at a time, as needed, to take advantage of the new editing tools? Wouldn't this approach make the upgrade process infinitely smoother and faster?

So, for those of you forcing the images update process along with the database upgrade, my question is why take the risk? Yes I know it is supposed to work, and it probably does for most people, but why bother taking that risk for images you have already edited when you can easily do it an image at a time? Am I missing something?

IDImager allows for Keywords to be written in hierarchical format. This means each individual keyword includes the parent keywords like this: "Others|Import|2009|2009-02-22". The only debate in my mind is about what will be more time consuming, writing and debugging a script to have exiftool extract the keywords and apply them hierarchical, or doing this task manually.
From playing with the Aperture trial I deducted that making changes to keywords in the keyword HUD applies these changes to all images. Changing the "fred" keyword to "Freddy" will update all images that have the original "fred" keyword applied.
We'll see. I am certainly not new to programming but have not used AppleScript before. Am still searching for a comprehensive guide and scripting examples that would help in pulling this off. But as I get closer to having the pre-processing outside of Aperture done for all of my images and very little accomplished in terms of the script I am leaning towards manually fixing my keywords.

Why wont the images of my events show up in my project???

Every time i start up final cut pro x my current project is completely fine. After i start working on it and moving events around in the project all of the images in the events that i have put in my project don't show up, load or re appear at all. No idea why this is happening, i even tried freeing up hardware space and deleted alot of events in my event library, by the way i just bought final cut pro x and this happened within 2 days of using it, please someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried trashing the preferences?
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.

Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
1. Ensure that only FCP X is selected.
2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones . . . instantly.

Why is the image cropped in landscape mode

Hi - I made video from a collation of youtube clips and transcoded it to iPad default settings in FCPX but when I view it on iPad the image along with the subtitles are cropped in landscape mode, why is that when the transcode settings list iPad 3 as included. How, or what do I need to do to fix this problem please.

The iPad display is 2048x1536 pixels which is 4x3 aspect ratio. When you display a 1280x720 video which is 16x9 aspect ratio you will get bars at top and bottom of the iPad screen. Any attempt to fill the screen by scaling etc will cause you to lose part of the frame edges. You have not stated what your project properties were in FCP. If they were 1920x1080 or 1280x720 then you might try an SD project ie 4x3 and see what sharing does for that. I haven't tried it but I suspect it will be 4x3 and fill your iPad screen. The issue may be the aspect ratio of your youtube clips. If they are wide screen which I suspect then you would see the bars in FCP storyline and your are back to the same issue when you export. You could in this case use the transform tools etc in FCP to fill the screen and pan the clips to not lose subtitles. It's a fiddling process. Hope this clarifies a bit.

Why do the images stop?

I've recorded a piece of VO for a slide thats 1:15 min long.
I added images to the timeline and overlapped them a couple seconds for nice transitions.
Everything plays fine when I click the little play button on the bottom of the timeline.
All the images transition perfectly as the timeline plays.
The problem I'm having is when I publish the audio plays but the images stop after the first 3 sec. image plays it just sits on that image while the VO continues.
I've checked the properties of the images and sound to see if something is stopping the images from playing but I just can't figure out why it won't go past the first image.
Also is there a way to turn off the progress bar on the project? I don't feel it is needed for this.
Please someone let me know what I might be doing wrong. I've spent most of the day trying to fix this.

Could you please post a screenshot of the timeline? Perhaps you have an interactive object with a pausing point that causes the playhead to stop.
Do you have the same effect when using a real preview (F4, F8, F10 or best of all F12)? Playing the slide doesn't generate a temporary SWF, it is not a real preview but mostly meant to do synchronizing on the timeline.

Why does the image not open in Elements when I opt for Edit in Photoshop Elements 11 from the Photos tab in Aperture?

With an image in Aperture, when I got Photos one of the options offered is "Edit in Elements Photoshop 11", but although selecting this opens Elements, there is no image and it is necessary to open the image in the normal way from within Elements. Other plugins, e.g. from Topaz work superbly from within Aperture. I am puzzled to know the reason, and in particular if there is any setting in either Aperture of Elements that need to be attended to. I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

Hi Frank, and many thanks. I can now get the picture into Elements, and work on it. However, when I have finished, I save it (giving it another name that I can recognise if the amendments are slight) it puts the file back into the same folder, but I have then to import it into the Aperture library in order to see it back in Aperture. Not a big problem, but an interesting one.
