Why is the text purple

Question

here's the link.  the text is black, like i want it, locally.  but online, it turns purple.  why?

ps...i know i've got work to do on the links for the submenu...it's really trying to figure out how to upload stuff correctly, i think.

Purple is the browser's default colour for visited links (been clicked on at least once) in the absence of any CSS rules for a:visited.
Links have the following states
a:link
a:visited
a:hover
a:active
a:focus
Need to set CSS rules for all these states in your stylesheet.
In this case, in http://suegarner.com/new/CSS/shop.css, change
a:link {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 100%;
color: #333;
letter-spacing: .1em;
text-decoration: none;
a:visited {
to
a:link, a:visited {
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 100%;
color: #333;
letter-spacing: .1em;
text-decoration: none;
