  • HT1476 why does the battery usage percentage not available in ios5.1.1???

why does the battery usage percentage not available in ios5.1.1???
and why is clock not available on ipad????

Because that is a decision the Apple made.  You can get the battery percentage (within 5%)  by using a free app such as BatteryLife Lite, but it will not show the percentage on the top of your screen.

  • Why is the repeat symbol orange

Why is the repeat symbol orange while listening to an audiobook on my iPhone 4S? It seems to change to orange after I've used the Bluetooth connection in my car.  It also restarts to the beginning of a chapter.

Apple has not said why, the very seldom do.

Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?
    Thanks

    Try this
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time

  • Ipod touch got wet and froze on the battery symbol. I forced a shut down and wasnt responsive.  tried turning it on and it wouldnt. Later on white screen appeared followed by the apple logo

i spilled a pop on my ipod and it froze up. the screen was loced on the battery symbol sign and i forced a shut down.  It tunred off and wont turn on.  Later a white screen popped up and after the apple logo popped up and dissapeared. I have tried to connect it to my computer and it said that the iphone(itunes read it as such) was in recovery mode. How do I get this thing to work again?

Leave the iPod off and place it in a container with dry rice to absorb moisture. Let it thoroughly dry.
Realistically, the chances of it working correctly again are slim, especially if the pop was sugared.

  • HT1476 Plugged my Ipod gen 5 into a AC charger and it started to beep and the battery symbol was flashing.

The Ipod touch gen 5 is brand new and this is its foirst full recharge. The AC wall charger is rated at 5volts 1amp. It is not an apple one but a generic model. The packaging stated it was suitable for a Ipod. So when we plug the Ipod into it the Ipod starts to beep and the battery symbol flashes. Should mention the cable used is the one supplies with the Ipod and the AC charger has a USB port on it.
Cannot find any info as to what the problem is.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • Have 2 month old Touch 4th Gen why is the battery life so bad?

    Hi everyone,
I have a 2 month old 4th gen Touch and find that the battery life is very bad. My 2nd gen Touch still works and I've had that since it was released (and I understand why the battery isn't so good on that anymore). Ever since I've had this I have to charge it at least once a day, thought I had heard that the battery life on the 4th gen was never good to begin with but this does seem very frustrating. I admit that I tend to use my Touchto play games and use the Internet. I always turn off Wi-FI when not on the Internet and I turn off  push notifications and watch out for the brightness as well. I have IOS 5.1 but was wondering what other people think about the battery. I know I'm still under warranty but do not want to just get another touch if this will happen to any touch I would get as a replacement. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

How bad is "so bad?"  You need to determine the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.

  • Why is the battery replacement so expensive?

I just bought my 15 GB ipod used a coupla weeks ago, and I thought I was getting a decent price. Now the battery appears to have died and I've found out that Apple used some really cheap, crappy batteries in the earlier ipod's and that this is a known issue. So, now I have to pay more for a replacement battery to Canada than I paid for the actual ipod? I wish I'd known this before buying the thing. I sure won't be recommending anyone else to buy them. Not when I have to pay for a substandard part just because it's not under it's one-year waranty anymore. Not very impressive start to my buying Apple products.

Just in case anyone is still following for some strange reason....
First, I wish that I had found that second url first. Their packs are better because they come with the tool that helps to prevent damage when opening the case. My case is pretty bent and scratched up now. I'm sure someone more experienced would have been graceful, but...I'd definitely recommend the other sets for inexperienced dorks like me.
But now it doesn't even matter what condition the case is in, cause the actual unit seems to be hooped. When I first replaced the battery the ipod would turn on and show the same uncharged battery icon, so I figured that it just needed to charge. I was just so happy that it still worked after opening it. But now aftr getting home from work, during which the ipod was charging, the thing won't even turn on anymore. And since I craked it myself, there's zero recourse.
I wish I had just spent the $93 to send it to Apple. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened or I would have received a refurbished ipod as a replacement. But why did it have to be so stinking complicated to begin with?
What a waste of money. And so depressing. I bought this to help with a crappy long-hour job.

  • Why is the battery draining?

I fully charged my phone. Used it to surf for an hour or so and the battery was half out. Then depending on the mode or function I was in, the battery icon was green and half-full, or solid white. Quit using the phone, and left it undocked. Six hours later I find it has drained itself, and displayed some type of low battery message. I docked it (ac outlet) and a few minutes later it dies. Able to revive it using homekey and wake key. Two questions. Is this phone suffering from hardware or software problem? Should I demand a replacement?

If you look around some other posts on this board, you'll note that you're one among many who have been having these battery problems. The consensus seems to be that it's a software issue that makes the phone think that the battery is fully charged while it really is not, or something like that. Some people have used a number of "jump starting" techniques to get their battery to fully charge and perform acceptably. I've tried all of them and it hasn't worked for me, so I'm taking my phone back for an exchange today. Personally I don't think anyone should be going through self-invented hustles of trying to figure out what to do about fixing this glitch for a $600 device. Understandably this is a new and revolutionary product, but Apple has been quiet about it and has provided no guidance, and it is very disappointing.

  • Why is the battery depleting when the iPad is not on?

Don't understand why the battery is constantly depleting while it's not in use! #neverusedtodothis

You want it on 'fetch' not push. Push means that mail is pushed out to your device at regular intervals. Fetch means that the program 'fetches' mail when you tell it to, usually when you open the app.
You can look in settings, general and turn off background app update and background app refresh if you want to.
You can also look in settings, notifications and see if you have notifications on that you dont' need. iOS7 defaults everything on that it possibly can but most people dont' need them. For example I could have about 20 things in my notifications, i use two.
If you want to shut down apps you're not using or wanting to run, double tap the home button. You'll see the app icons and a preview show up on your screen. Scroll sideways if needed to get to the ones you want to close, then flick that preview window up and off the screen to close the app. Once you've shut down all you want/need to, either single tap the home button or tap on the preview for your home screen to exit the mode.
