Why is the top left corner wheel constantly spinning while in gmail? I am simply in my Mail app, not doing anything!
I misspoke, it actually happens in other spots, too. Here's an attempt at a screen shot. Notice how it's blank in a part.

My iPhone 5 have the glass popping sound when I press on the top left corner of my phone but I don't know why, I don't see any visibility of the glass coming out. My friends all told me to not exchange because after all the software is perfectly fine.
My phone just turned 2 months old. But in Singapore as long your phone is under one year warranty I can still go for an exchange at the respective telco, but my friends all suggest me to not change now cause after changing it'll be a refurbished set instead of a brand new one.

Hey Scott! Like I said, I thought I had done some damage -- even though the drop was just a couple of inches that was my very first thought, but when it came and went with which app I was in (or not) I knew it wasn't a damaged SCREEN. So I wondered if it was a different damaged part, memory or some such.
When I saw that others had the exact same shape, I could only imagine that perhaps the phone was indicating it was running a diagnostic, had been forcefully dropped, had a faulty/damaged accelerometer or some other purposeful object. It clearly wasn't random, it was a definite shape.
Hey Paul! I'm hoping they've seen the issue and tried replacing a few parts or something... Ya never know. As a (mostly) retired guy I have the time!
I also mentioned in a kind of oblique way that I had enabled the Kanji keyboard. I should also mention that I have the field strength test enabled so that I am able to see the -db numbers instead of the antenna bars. That's right in the same area, so it could be related.... maybe... or not. The screen was unlocked when this happened and I'm guessing I pushed a whole lotta buttons and/or icons as I was grabbing at it... I wonder if it is possibly an easter egg of some sort -- just the right combo of touches. Then again, it bounced right on THAT corner... LOL
That's the only stuff I've ever done to the phone. It's never been jailbroken or anything like that. It has taken a few falls in its lifetime but none resulting in any obvious damage.
It's a 32GB iPhone 3Gs and it is now 2 years old (bought June 27, 2009.) I'm just happy that it seems to be OK. While Apple's stock may be the largest market cap in the US, my portfolio sure isn't. -

1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo. -
The Apple logo in the top left corner was purple... why?
This is just a weird anomaly that I'd like to figure out. On March 7, I noticed the Apple logo in the top left corner of my screen had turned purple. Once it happened, I wasn't entirely certain it wasn't always like that, like maybe the black background I had was tinted purple, but wasn't noticeable elsewhere. (Plus, none of my friends that work for Apple had anything to say about it.)
Tonight, after working on my computer for a few hours, I looked up and the Apple logo was back to dark grey, so I know something weird was amiss.
I'm using the same exact background on all of my "desktops," and have been for months... did anyone else experience this? I can find nothing on it, but it seems really odd. The rest of the colors have been consistent, so it's not a display issue... and if it was, the screen shots wouldn't look different.
Obviously not important, but strange.
I have a MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum) 2.4gHz and use an external display.Weird, the same is happening to me on an 8 core mac pro. We changed the graphics card to a Nvidia a little while ago so I tought this might have to do with it but it did it before if I remember correctly. I also have a macbook pro and it doesn't happen on the macbook pro. We are only macs at the studio and I am the only one that this is happening. I know it is know the speakers close to the screen nor the screens themselves, cause I tried a bunch of different screens. I remembered trying out Istatsmenu a little while back and the color scheme of that app was purple. Maybe that has something to do with it... but the other day the apple logo was greenish/gray. It doesn't do anything, system is running fine, it's just weird... anybody has an answer?

I just had my iMac sent away for repair as it kept heating up to the point where you could not touch the top left corner of the machine. It really only heats up when i open iPhoto and it is generating thumbnails for all the events. (Some reason it has lost all the thumbnails).
The Mac came back yesterday and they replaced the fans and cleaned out the machine and it has passed all heating tests.As user Seventy one recommended above, the "iStatPro" Free software is very useful in determining just how hot your internal hardware components are getting. You could post some of the temp readings from it here so we can comment on them.

How do I get the orange firefox button to show up on the top left corner of my page?
So, I've installed, and reinstalled the new Firefox 4. It seems like only half the features have shown up. For example, I don't have the orange firefox button in the top left corner. I also don't have the button for bookmarks. On every other machine that I've installed firefox 4 on has not had issues like this. I don't know why I'm having issues on my laptop. If there's a way to fix it, I would appreciate it. I don't mind how it is right now, but I do like the cleaner look and the orange firefox button, instead of the buttons that show up now that are labeled: "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, etc."
* You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).
* If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily. -

Okay so I had a fan error I took the laptop apart to clean the fan it worked "I think"A lock now appeared in the top left corner With another symbol next to it which looks like a computer but its so small I can't tell so is there anyway to get around this otherwise if there isn't my job is at stake and with this economy I think I just might jump off a bridge after talking with my psychiatrist of course I changed my mine... Any ideas send me ASAP!!! I have no time to watse. so let me tell you what i have tried i have tried holding the esc key after boot up for different boot up choices and and i have tried F8 also i even tried F12... idk why and i have tried the 'Fn" key with the lock symbol on my keybooard to see what that would do i don't know what else to do with only another harddrive, 2 (2gb;1Gb) more ram, and the tools to take apart the laptop. I would be so happy to know i won't have to spend money on this machine cuz i am in the negetives here just barely living... help me or im outta the picture for good as to be honest this laptop is my life and it has everything i need on it to succeed in the near future along with many expensive programs that could make or break me. jeez im hopeless right now this is it i've googled to the point i was gonna pick up this desktop at this library and smash it and walk out like nothing even happened.

Go to Solution.Remove keyboard
block fan-propeller with a match or toothpick
blow compressed air through the fan ribs from outside into the notebook.
finally clean the fan gently with a vacuum cleaner while the fan still is blocked with the match/toothpick
If the fan error still comes up, you'll need a new fan/heat sink.

Why and Where is the arrow back botton at the top left corner of the of the desktop or computer? Its the arrow that you can click if you want to go back to the previous page of your screen?
The back/forward arrows are now at the right of the Navigation bar, you can use customize to move them back to the left side. The drop-down arrow was removed, you now use right-click or hold left click to see the context menu for back/forward.

MY 2 week old IPad 2 suddenly stopped receiving a cell signal from Verizon and in the top left corner of the screen it says Invalid SIM where it used to say 3G. Why did this happen and how do I fix it? Still works on WIFI...
Why? Who knows. You could try reseating the SIM to see if this helps. If not contact Verizon.

After doing the network reset on my iphone 4, the top left corner of the screen which usually displays my carriers name just keeps saying 'searching'. I have tried looking elsewhere at this site for a solution to my problems but I'm still coming up empty.

Whenever I reply to an e-mail the window comes up but without the paper airplane in the top left corner. The only way to send the reply is to close it and save as a draft. Then I can pull it up from Drafts and it has the airplane on it.
Launch Mail.
Click "New Message" in the Toolbar.
When the new message window opens up, click "View" menu in the menu bar.
Select "Show Toolbar" from the dropdown.
or
Select "Customize Toolbar from the dropdown.
When the Customize Toolbar sheet drops down, drag "Send" button

I was just installing windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro. I selected to have 200GB for Windows and the rest leave for Mac.
I clicked install and the bar filled up as it should do. However, once the install had completed, my MacBook turned itself off. I assumed this was normal. Now, my MacBook has a black screen with a white flashing underscore in the top left corner.
What is wrong and what should I do?Hold down the Option key when starting up then on the sceen that comes up select Mac OS X to boot from.
The Win 7 install didn't go well and is hung in some way. You should use boot camp assistant to remove the win partition and start over.
Make sure you are using a Retail version of Win 7. A Branded OEM version, like ones from Dell and HP, will NOT work to install Windows 7 on your Mac. -

No solution yet. One would think that Adobe would recognize that several complaints have been reported on this problem. Obviously, nobody knows how to fix it!! Sorry I can't be helpful!!
