Why is there a circle in the center of the browser window?

Hi,
Sometimes when browsing the web, Firefox displays a crosshair-like circle in the middle of the screen. This just started a few weeks ago. I have not been able to find any information about this. It appears to happen when I type into form fields like this one. But then it persists even after I go to another page or site. Could it be a problem with an Add-On? I have AdBlock Plus and Ghostery installed.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and how to make it stop?

Is it the mouse pointer that changes and doesn't change back? In that case I would suspect an add-on, maybe one related to form filling??
Or is it like a display glitch which is superimposed over whatever's behind it? If it's the latter, could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Why is there No visible URL anymore in my firefox browser window?

Sorry if I am being an idiot but the look of my browser window has changed and there is no longer a visible URL for any website i click on when using google as a search engine.
This is what used to happen: 1.Open firefox, 2. a google searchbox would appear in middle of window, 3.type something there, search , 4.click on a chosen site...and it's URl would appear in the window at the top of the page. Then if I wanted to share this I could just copy and paste!
Now, when i do steps 1-4 above i don't get a visible URL at the top of the page. Instead in it's place is a bar with a google symbol to it's left and nothing in it ????
Why is the URL not visible any more ...is there another way I can find it/see it /display it?
Thsi is something that has changed only in the past couple of weeks ...and I don't think i have upgraded it recently ...is this why ?

thanks for your hlelp! i omitted to say that i am a Mac use and so don't have an f10 key ;-( ...and so some of the other instructions don't work either!
I have tried some of the other suggestions( like looking in customize tool bars) ..and I don't think that something has gone missing. I think firefox may have changed the look of the window?!
I have attached a screen grab below...to help explain...
See the long window at the top that has google written on left hand side ?! This is where the url used to be displayed.
I have discovered that when you are on a page if you click on the icon on the left hand side of the little window/bar...that is to the left of the long one ...and then click more info you can see the page details in a pop up window ( as per the screen grab) . However only the site details can be copied ...and not the individual page URL ...although this appears at the top of the pop up!
I also noticed I do not have latest version of firefox running ...so will remedy that
and maybe that will sort it ...what do you think?
If I do the same thing but use safari as a browser i don't get the same problem ...and the complete URL for the actual page is displayed !

What does the Pink circle segment that appears in the center of the Tool bar

My iMac has been freezing up the last couple of weeks. It is locked up right now and I cannot access or change things with the mouse on the screen.
There is a pink circle segment in the center of the toolbar at the top of the screen??? Can anybody tell me what that means and whether there is a fix for what is going on with my iMac?

You apparently have had a hardware failure, most likely, and should take your Mac in to let an Apple Genius diagnose it.

Is there a trick to using the center of the click wheel on my ipod nano 5th generation?

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

The current build of iTunes may occasionally draw the scroll bar off the edge of the screen. It should be possible to resize the window to reveal the scroll bar.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.

Is there a way in PP CS4 to remove the center of the image?
I've tried using crop and linear wipe effects but both of these effects take way from the outside of the image moving in. I'm trying to find a way to take away from inside of the image and move out. Basically making a window, if you will, to view the video layer underneath.

Crop wasn't such a bad idea.
Drop to be revealed clip in V1.
Drop clip for the curtain effect in V2 and add crop.
Set first keyframe at say 1 second for LEFT 50%, second keyframe at say 2 seconds to 100%
Add the clip for the curtain effect again but on V3 (superimposded).
Add crop.
Now animate RIGHT: 1 second 50% at 2 seconds 100%.
Done

I too have an iPad smart cover, and all that clicking sound is is basically the standard lock sound for iOS. The Smart cover is equipped with magnets inside, and the iPad is also equipped with magnets, and when those magnets are closed together the iPad goes to sleep.

Why are my sub-tools showing in the center of the screen

ive purchased adobe indesign cc, and generaly use it at work on my mac (works perfectly). however i recently installed it at home and have come across an unusual bug wich i havent seen replecated anywhere else.
when clicking and holing on a tool (as one does to access the sub-menu of tools) the sub-menu itself appears in the center of the screen, as opposed to next to the tool bar like it should. Does anyone know how the hell to fix this? has anyone else had this problem at least? I should add that happens only in indesign, this is not an issue with the rest of the cc suite. And yes im using the latest update

I have no status bar, no menu bar, no maneuverability at all. There appears to be only the center of the webpage and I have to ctl-alt-del to close firefox. There must be a simple solution to correct this.

Problem began this am- opened firefox 4 and have lost all the manageability buttons-tabs-toolbars. It appears that all I have is the center of the page and the frames around the edge are out of sight or gone. Can't grab a corner/edge to make screen smaller or scroll up/down. Tried reloading and reinstalling FF4 but still same problem

I mucked about and solved the issue myself by uninstalling FF4 then installing FF3.16.... it still opened up wrong. I deleted something from Mozilla FF ( I had 3 sets of search engine folders) and then managed to get back online with FF instead of Chrome. Will keep your advice in mind should the problem occur again - I never run anything in full screen mode and dumb me does not even know how to do that with FF. Thanks for the answer.....

How do I get alerts to remain in the center of the screen after unlocking my iPhone in iOS 7?

The whole point of alerts, according to Apple, is to let you know about important events by remaining in the center of the screen until you acknowledge them. So why, when my iPhone 4s is locked and I receive an alert, does absolutely nothing appear when I unlock my phone? I use OmniFocus2 for everything, but the app isn't useful to me without forcing me to acknowledge the alerts I've set up for my to-do's. I've messed with all the notification options (like removing from lock screen), but I simply cannot believe that the only way Apple would allow their alerts to work properly is by forcing me to keep my phone from auto-locking indefinitely.
Can anyone help?

I just came from using a BlackBerry Z10 and just got a iphone 5S. I have to say that this is the most ridiculous issue i am having to deal with as well. I use a password for my lock screen and if im not constantly on my phone i will miss a text msg. theres nothing from the lock screen to show you of a missed text or etc and also i dont care that i can look at notifications pull down. that is useless for the common person who doesn't live on the phone. There's no led to help this issue another major negative for me and this issue as well. So pretty much if i dont check my phone periodically i will miss something for sure. Cant believe this phone is considered the flagship of phones, there are SIMPLE issues with iphones that many other company's have fixed YEARS ago. Seriously would a LED light really hurt that bad to put on?! Get a clue apple!
--sorry for the rant but i have been looking everywhere online and trying many issues to fix this with no luck.

I'd suggest putting the Ellipse and the Label in a StackPane.
I wonder why so many people call it JXML?
It is so strange - I guess the JXML name just seems more natural to some people, though I don't know why.
I think Greg is right and that labelFor is not what you want:

UI element in Webdynpro to align the content area at the center of the page

I am looking for a UI element in webdynpro which can keep the entire content area aligned to the center of the page as well as can provide the borders along the content area.
Please suggest if there exists any such UI element in webdynpro.
P.S. We are using NWDS Version: 7.01.00

Hi Anurag,
What you can try is to put all of your UI elements in Group and then do the alignment. Set the visibility property of the group header to invisible. This will give you a border.

After what seems to be a normal upgrade to the new Lion OS. My computer counted down to restart and left a white screen with only a file folder in the center of the screen with a ? in it. How do I get my screen back to normal? Jim L.

After what seems to be a normal upgrade to the new Mountain Lion OS X on my early 2008, 24" iMac. My iMac counted down to restart but did not turn all the way off. At the end of the count down the screen went white with a small file folder flashing on and off in the center of the screen. Also there is a ?, question mark in the miaale of the file folder. The screen responds to no keyboard or mouse commands. Request help.

My computer was doing the same as yours hinikuru but now there is a change. I turned my iMac off by the button on the back and left it off for about an hour. When I just turned it on the center Apple logo was back and soon the loading logo for the new Mountain Lion program came up. On the bottom of the logo there is a horizontal sliding bar that says the program will take 34 minutes to load. Time will tell. I have two iMacs and if this goes we'll I will install the new Mountain Lion tomorrow. Hinikuru, I was about to follow the information in one of the side bar blocks titled "More like this" on the right side of this screen when my iMac seemed to fix itself! Good luck. I think not all is lost.
