Why is there a Google download included with the Flash Player

I really don't want Anything Google on my computer and there is much dicussion about Googles intrusion, in trying to install a Flash Player upgrade on my computer I noted that there  was also a Google download I would like to ask why this occurred? Does any one have an answer regarding this occurance.

There has indeed been a lot of discussion going on about that subject, and I think everything has been said about it.  Nothing more that can be added.

  • Internet Explorer 9 crashes with the Flash player 10.2

Compatibility of Flash player 10.2 with Nvidia optimus graphic card used in Sandy Bridge processors:
There are multiple things that we need to consider. I have a similar problem with the IE 9. As soon as I downloaded the new Adobe flash player 10.2 the problem started.
The problem lies in the interaction of Adobe flash. 10.2 hardware acceleration with the new Nvidia optimus graphics. The new Nvidia graphic cards are used with new Sandy Bridge processor form intel.
As soon as you update the flash player 10.2 the IE 9 crashes it is not a 64 or 32 bit problem rather the problem lies in interaction between Adobe flash player 10.2 and Nvidia graphic card.
If you want to check that it makes sense. Put a checkmark in options in IE 9 to deactivate the hardware acceleration. IE 9 will play all flash videos without a hitch. Unfortunately you cannot play them full-screen.
The way to completely fix this problem, download the older edition of flash player that's 10.1 which is compatible with Nvidia graphics. Problem solved.
I'm posting this solution to Adobe forums to make sure that they can fix the problem in 10.3 version of flash player.

    Hi,
The process of clearing IE 9 Crashing issues is very simple.
Run IE 9 without any plug-in, add-ons or other extension.
That is, if the software is yet to be installed.
If it has already been installed then disable the add-ons.
It is important to check what are the add ons that cause the crashing if that is the case; this can be done by clicking on ‘Start’, then on ‘All programs’, then on ‘Accessories’, then on ‘System tools’.
Click on Internet explorer again and again click on the ‘Tools’ option.
Follow this by clicking on ‘Manage add-ons’.
There will be an option under show: all add ons.
Open the option and click on any add on and press the ‘CTRL + A’ on the keyboard.
That should help select all the add ons; once that is done simply disable all the add ons and click ‘Close’.
Finally close Internet Explorer and open it again.
At this stage if it continues to open and work correctly then the add-on enabled manually will work properly and will stay! The constant problems of the browser crashing can be avoided.

  • Why is Mcafee included with the Flash update? I don't appreciate unwanted apps auto installing!

Please remove Mcafee from future updates to Flash. If I wanted or needed Mcafee I would have gone to their site to get it. Now I am wasting precious time complaining about it and also uninstalling it.

When asked to download an Adobe Flash Player update today, I did so and started the application.
I saw that it was also downloading McAffe security software - without my approval. I was never asked to install additional software and I aborted the installation process.
This is absolutely abusive behavior and I will not tolerate this kind of behavior from any company, no matter how widespread their product may be.
I will also be contacting McAfee to let them know that I have a much lower opinion of their company than before for being complicit in this behavior.
It is amoral and should be criminal behavior to sneak additional software onto someone's computer like this. Shame on you, Adobe. This is worse than having opt-in boxes for additional products already checked.
I am disgusted and Adobe should be ashamed - but I'm sure that it is not.
The contact for McAfee Corporate Respnsibility is [email protected]
If you are upset about McAfee, or any other company, being complicit in this behavior, please contact that company and let them know.

  • Why do you default to download McAfee with a flash plugin?

This is a dispicable practice and needs to stop. Bundling crap ware is the worst thing you can do. Stop it.

Adobe offsets the ongoing development costs of Flash Player, which is made available for free, by offering users the option to download software from select Adobe partners.  I understand that this is a controversial change for some users and I'll make sure to represent your concerns to our management team.
The simplest and most straight forward alternative is to uncheck the checkbox. It’s an opt out situation, not opt in and I also understand your position on that.
In the future just download the installers without DLM and bundled software from : http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • I am having major problems with the Flash Player Download

I have downloaded it probably 12 times +. I have tried everything I know and keep coming back to the boards for more. I don't know what else to do. I have I/E 8. I use AVG 8.5. I use Net zero and their proprietary pop up blocker. I download 10.1.82.76. I have also downloaded the older version and tried that. I tried the manual download. I made sure AVG is off. My Internet setting is at Medium.I have CCleaner installed. The blocker is on.I do see the whirling F video and it say I have the corresponding download to the right, and that it was successfully downloaded. I go to my control panel and in there it shows the download manger actively installed with a quantity of size. It shows the Adobe Flash Player also installed at least in name, BUT there is no quantity displayed for the file size. So this tells me it is somewhere, but just not totally installed or stuck somewhere. I completely remove it each time I reload it And I restart before I redownload. As far as I remember I already had it operating a while ago and all of a sudden my game site wouldn't work on Facebook. So I troubleshot it. It said to download the latest version if the game won't start so I did. And that is when this whole download problem began, probably about a week and a half ago.I have Windows XP Pro in I believe 32 bit, but where it says to check it says 128 bit capable, I think was the word. I can't find specific 32 or 64 anywhere.XP version is several years old.and I don't have any brand new hardware. It is an ASUS board, top of the line back when. and no problems before. There is a raid system running. as the board was designed for it. And I run two mirrored high speed discs in SATA. but they are almost totally empty. They are Raptors. The board is a P5AD2 Deluxe. I just have 1 Gig or ram installed.I use a slow but usually reliable dial up download. I can't get high speed.I have another spyware blocker in the tray Zone Alarm, but I very seldom use it and keep it off most of the time and every time I have downloaded the Flash. In tools my Flash Object is enabled AND it shows the correct download version of Flash. Under Internet Properties/Advanced I don't know which to set where so I haven't changed any.........Well that's about all I can tell you that I remember I have tried. Now you can see what you can think of. I'm out and really ticked at this Adobe thing.
I hope I can find my way back to these posts for the answers.

Ok, but before I get involved with a lot of uninstall's, whereas you said that the earlier one didn't effect anything when it did, what is this going to effect and can I recover the deleted info or files if it doesn't work or causes problems as I say it did before?
Second I never used a downloaded uninstaller before during any of my uninstall's. Just the one in the control panel listing included in the FP header and listed there. It appeared that it removed all of the FP info because as I said I went to the Start/search and looked for any Adobe FP items and found none. So I assumed I did a good job of clearing any FP before rebooting and re-downloading FP. So is that a yes or a no to start with?
Third You, I guess it was you said that from what I told you FP is loaded and operating as it should. If so why would I do this (continue making changes) now, when apparently the problem is elsewhere? IF in fact it is, that is.
Fourth. I received a reply from Facebook tech saying that IE8 does have some issues with their app's due to similar construction platforms or something to that effect (I saved the mail so I can quote it if necessary), and that I should try a bunch of these recommendations and see if they work, which I did not yet do.I just sort of gave up on their game and said screw it. If they can't provide software that works with current popular platforms then I don't need their software. And part of what they suggested was to change my browser. I am used to IE and really don't like changing things all the time just because there's something new. And many of the things available in Firefox and such, I probably don't have use for so why should I change to begin with. Anyway I wasn't really willing to change my browser to suit their software. But in another point, the game was working fine for quite a while with my original FP untill it just quit one day. And as I said I don't know of any changes I made to cause it. I didn't change browsers or download any other games or change ISP or change FP or modify how they ran as far as I know.
Fifth. I received an e-mail from a girl who like me posted on here and while reading some of the posts before posting my self read hers. Our problem or complaint was quite similar and someone suggested that she use a different browser and she apparently did and it apparently because she emailed me and said that that was what worked for here. Again, I didn't persue that avenue.
Sixth. But just FYI any of the seemingly similar games will still not work on the Facebook site for me because I downloaded a similar one to the one that didn't work and it did just as the other one was doing. and loaded all the way until the game picture loaded and stopped blank. So either I have a problem or bug or Facebook/Game supplier does. Maybe both.
So please answer these before I just go off and make changes I can't recover from if my system crashes because of a mod. Thanks.

  • Why would I have to download latest verison adobe flash player twice in one day when I already had?

I play a game called Castville and I play on Zynga.com on mozilla firefox.  About a week ago after

I downloaded and I still had the same message well I downloaded again but I should have never had to download it all since it was already oin my computer now there are problems with the game and at the bottom of the screen I see
on occaison the abode flash sign flash or perhaps flicker once or twice and this it.  Since I downloaded it twice abode had been crashing I get this picture of a plug in unplugged and a line above that says that I have to reloaded the game.   So can someone please tell me why I had to download abode flash player twice in one day when I already had it and 2 why it is now causing the game I have been playing for a couple weeks before I downloaded twice to start sicking and sometimes crashing.     Please help

  • Download problem with Adobe Flash Player 11

I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 11 a long time ago, when it first came out; however, every time I need it, I get a window saying I need to download Adobe Flash Player in order to view it. What in the world is happening that it isn't downloaded and there to use. When I download it, I get a FINISH to click on, so it should be there already.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO MAKE IT DOWNLOAD PROPERLY AND BE THERE FOR USE.

Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp and follow the steps to download the FULL ActiveX installer. (it says "11" but it's really "12")
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

  • No matter if it's a Mac or a PC, FireFox refuses to refresh Flash files. Updated Flash files are showing up as old,out dated, Flash files. Is there an issue with the Flash Player PlugIn?

I have created a simple Flash menu for use on multiple site. They all access the same flash file. My original flash file only had a few links and tabs. The new one has more links, and a "LIVE" button at the bottom. But in Fire Fox, those that saw the original can not see the updated version in FireFox. They see it if they use Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc. This issue comes up on all operating systems. This issue only occurs with FireFox. I've tried clearing FireFox's Cache but that doesn't seem to be working either.
The Flash File can be found on the left side at this link:

Your server file handling has nothing, and really nothing to do with Adobe software. If files don't get locked for (over-)writing and/or lose connection to the program opening them, then your server is misconfigured. It's as plain and simple and that. Anything from "known file types"/ file associations not being set correctly, MIME types being botched, crooked user privileges and file permissions, missing Mac server extensions, delayed file writing on the server, generic network timeout issues and what have you. Either way, you have written a longwinded post with no real value since you haven't bothered to provide any proper technical info, most notably about the alleged server. Either way, the only way you can "fix" it is by straightening out your server and network configuration, not some magic switch in Adobe's software.

  • Why is it impossible to select options in the flash player settings

I just installed FP 11.8.800. and tried to activate a camera for a netStream. When the flsh player settings panel came up, none of the buttons responded to mouse clicks in Firefox or Chrome. It does not work either if you tab through and try to activate the highlighed option with enter. What is wrong with it? Working on an Asus G73 64 bit laptop

Unfortunately, one of the security threats that we face in the modern security landscape is an attack against the browser and plug-in user interface called ClickJacking.
In short, we have to do a bunch of math and guessing to ensure that the clicks on the buttons in the settings manager are authentic, and not a result of someone tricking you into clicking by obscuring the dialog by placing something innocuous-looking on top of it, or programmatically generating the clicks.  When you click on that box, we actually take a screenshot of the region, compare it against what we believe is rendered there, and if the two don't match, we don't accept the click.
Because we're not directly getting the input (the browser gets it and passes it along to us), we have imperfect insight into the origin and nature of the events that get passed in.  This is one of those classic "garbage in, garbage out" situations.
The optimal solution would be to let the browser handle all of the user interface stuff because it does have authoritative insight, but there are a whole set of reasons (mostly backwards compatibility and platform fragmentation related) for why that isn't feasible in the short-term.
The problem is typically that you have a video playing, or something moving underneath the dialog such that the pixels around the dialog have changed between when you clicked and when we do that authenticity comparison, or there's a subtle rounding bug in the math that only happens at a specific resolution.  Changing your resolution temporarily will usually get you around the problem, but we're not saying that it's a good solution.
If you can tell me what your display resolution is, and point me to the website where you're having the problem, I'll try and reproduce it and get a bug filed.
Also, there is frequently an "active" spot on the button in this situation, but it's too small.  If you just try clicking around all over the button, and/or launching the settings manager in a different spot so that the stuff around the dialog window is less likely to change over time, you can probably get around it without changing resolutions.
    Thanks!

  • Problem with the Flash Player 1,7,700,202 and monitor stand-by

    Hi
I have installed Flash Player 1,7,700,202 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit with Internet Explorer 10.x and I have a problem on each account:
When I play back a video or I see a Flash animation on a Web page, the monitor does not go more into stand-by during their visualization. How come?
    Thanks
    Bye

Are you looking to have your monitor go into standby while video is playing?  I suspect you might get a better response on Microsoft's forums.

  • Why is there not an ihome compatible with the iphone 5  long after the release of the phone and next ten apple products

i absolutley hate the adaptor for the iphone 5 it will only charge my phone and will not play music through my dock where is the new ihomes for the next gen apple products

Or talk to the store manager or Apple Customer Relations and explain that you brought the phone in twice before the warranthy expired for the same problem and that there was no permanent solution, though if clearing out the debris fixed it previously, it's perhaps unlikely that they'll think it a defect. You can try, though. Just complaining here will accomplish nothing since we're all fellow users in these forums.

  • What types of samples are included with the EXSP?

I'm considering purchasing Logic Express, but wanted to know what types of samples (orchestral, synth, drum, keyboard, etc) are included with the EXSP player. Can anyone owning Logic Express tell me what types of samples are included?
    Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3)

    Hello, Jeb247.
This is merely a matter of personal opinion, but I believe that the included samples for EXSP are among the better features of the program. Granted, there are some cases where you have several instruments loosely based on the same samples run through different filters, but you are likely to find a decent array of what you need.
You get all the Garageband instruments, as well as the ability to load the Jam Packs into EXSP. While the following list probably contains some overlap with those samples, it will still give you an idea of what's out there:
The top-level hierarchy lists 41 different groups of sounds. After each listing, I'll note the approximate number of 'instruments' in each group:
    Piano (10)
    Guitars (11)
    Bass (5)
    Strings (9)
    Horns & Winds (9)
    Ethnic Instruments (2)
    Voices & Choir (3)
    Drum Kits (12)
    Effects(~50)
    Percussion & Specials (2)
    Analog: Bass (45), Leads (20), Pads (17), Percussive Waves (44), SpectrumSQ (25), Sweeps (30), Synthcomp (33), Waveforms (50+)
Digital Chromatic Kits (12), Initial Waveforms (60+), Motion & FX (36), Pad Synths (46), Percussive Waves (23), Synths (31)
    FM Bass (17)
Synth Atmospheres Layers (31), Singles (40)
    Synth Bass (45), Brass (12), Chords (21), Leads & Hooks (30), LFO Synths (21), Multi Sequence (6), Pads (44), Percussive Synths (44), Poly (28), Sidechain Chords (14), Spacious Effects (40), Strings (16), Sweeps & Swells (32), Vocalish (25)
Now, as to the quality of the sounds... your mileage may vary. For orchestral stuff, nothing appeals to my ears like the Kurzweil -- largely because of those smooooooooooth output filters. That's not to say that the EXSP stuff isn't worth checking out; I just happen to use it for electronic textures and percussion rather than acoustic emulations. The drums simply don't cut it for me -- not nearly enough punch. But -- as I've mentioned before, you ears may report different pleasure levels.
Suffice it to say that the EXSP comes with a substantial array of music-making potential. For the money (a freebie w/ Logic Express) it's a really good deal. Shortcomings in its sound set can be overcome by the careful purchase of additional material where your ears report unsatisfactory sounds. If you don't like the drums, iDrum or Battery might be a good idea (or my personal favorite: an outboard drum machine with dead-short latency...); if the orchestra stuff is weak, there are alternatives there, too.
And your options for synth textures are beyond counting -- though I can specifically recommend the utterly astounding (and free!) Alphakanal "Automat". And you can have a pile of fun with the (equally free) NUSofting daHornet. And... and... the list goes on.
    Cheers,
    Michael
