Why is there a picture of an eye in the background?

My cousin has a macbook from school and brought it to my house today. I noticed an image of an eye in the background. And when I say in the background it's like a watermark. It's there when the computer is first starting up and you can see it when he uses a web browser. Although, it does not appear on the desktop background. I think that's cause he put a picture on there. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in the web browser. You can see it behind the Google and search box in the middle. Anyone ever heard of this? It's kinda freaky.

Yes, the ghost in the machine has produced an eye
from which to watch the user and surrounding area.
But does it appear less eye-like when the room is dark &
no other reflection in display, of other items in the room?
Do any other of the school's computers come equipped
with the all seeing eye of educational purpose installed?
The superstitious could seek to exchange the school
computer with a different one, with a regular camera.
Not sure what advice or solution to suggest. If it were
mine, I'd consider wearing a disguise while using it.

The current build of iTunes may occasionally draw the scroll bar off the edge of the screen. It should be possible to resize the window to reveal the scroll bar.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.

I too have an iPad smart cover, and all that clicking sound is is basically the standard lock sound for iOS. The Smart cover is equipped with magnets inside, and the iPad is also equipped with magnets, and when those magnets are closed together the iPad goes to sleep.

My iPod Touch (5th generation) is not responding to my touch. There are also several colored lines in the background of my screen. Virus?

Since my iPod isn't responding to my touch, I can't switch it off or restart it as I normally would. I've tried doing the hold-down-the-sleep-button-and-the-home-button-for-ten-seconds thing but when the Apple logo appears, it's either completely pink in color or there are these vertical colored lines in the background. When the lock screen reappears, sometimes it looks completely normal (but it still doesn't respond), or everything's blurred, or there are these weird colours in the background, or those lines I mentioned before, but most of the times, it's completely dark and I can onlu see this moving flash at the bottom of the screen (indicating the presence of the slide to unlock thing).
My computer was recently reformatted because it had had a virus, so I'm worried my iPod has gotten the virus too. I have some data on there that I really can't lose. (I haven't backed up this data because my computer had been on the fritz for the past two weeks).
Is taking it to an Apple Help Centre the only cure? (I purchased the item in March 2013; Is there any chance I can get it replaced for free?) I tried moving the photos from the device to my PC but it says there are no photos in my device. (I've moved my photos before when I'd forgotten my password and was about to reset it.)
I would really like some advice ASAP because if it is a virus, the longer I keep it untouched, the more havoc it causes. i fear.

I do not think talking to Apple will do more than the following:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Since I installed 10.9.2, why is there no pictures options in my screensaver in system preferences.

When I updated to 10.9.2, I can not choose any of my pictures to be used as screensaver. There is no Pictures option any more in the screensaver.

Are you sure? There are two tabs in Desktop&Screensaver:
Desktop: here you can add folders/pictures and so on with the + sign underneath.
Screensaver: on the elft side you have the OS standard screensavers, on the right side you have a image with underneath it "Source:" with a field to choose next to it. There is no "options" field.
If you do not have it, Reinstall the OSX with a startup while holding CMD+R: it leaves your user data alone (but of course you have backups).

Why do not every picture/video AirDrop back to the time it was taken?

I have a 64GB iPad and a 16GB iPhone. Since my iPad has way more storage than my iPhone, I wanted to transfer photos and videos from months ago from my iPhone to my iPad to free up some space on my iPhone. I tried using iCloud services such as iCloud Photo Library (wouldn't let me just transfer photos from my iPhone to my iPad) and My Photo Stream (I want full resolution photos on my iPad) but they seemed too complicated Or wouldn't achieve what I want (iPhone pictures/videos transferred to my iPad. So I decided to try AirDrop and when transferring these pictures/videos I wanted them to still have the dates they were taken so things don't get mixed up (A picture of me swimming in the summer next to me skiing in the winter). However when using AirDrop some pictures would go transfer to their original dates while others would go to the bottom of my photos not being in the time period they were taken. Is there anyway I can fix this so that ALL my photos/videos being transferred over AirDrop will go back be within the time periods they were originally taken? Thanks all feed back is much appreciated.
if your unsure of what I want to achieve with AirDrop, an example would be wanting a photo taken back in September to not appear at the bottom of my photos in January.
If there are any other better methods of transferring photos than AirDrop or iCloud please feel free to tell me them.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

Yes...It is very annoying. I spent all day trying to get this worked out and after a lot of trial and error and a lot of restarts I got iTunes to work.
I deduced that I had a conflict of some sort and ruled it down to my temorary files that windows doesn't delete after it is finished with them. I cleaned out my temporary file by using this webpage http://personal-computer-tutor.com/deletingtempfiles.htm . After I did this my computer worked like it did when it was new!!
This seemed to work for me and it might for you if you are having problems.

Why is my Adobe Reader 11 going automatically to the background when i open an pdf file

We have a problem at a customer. If he opens an pdf file from his programm , then it is going automatically to the background.
We tried it with Adobe Reader 8 and that wasn't giving a problem, so anybody has an workaround for Adobe Reader 11 ?

Dear Pat,
We have internet explorer 9.0 (and we tried it with 10) and when we want to proceed with it, it opens for a second an goes to the background.
So it opens in the External Adobe Reader. But i know we can alt-tab it but it needs to be automatically and that worked just with Reader 8.
So do you have any idea of how we can fix this or is there a workaround available for this problem.

Why is there a little blue square box with the question mark in the middle of the place where my pictures are suppose to be??

I don't know why sometimes my pictures show up, and other times I get the little blue square with the question mark. Mostly it does that in gmail.
Can someone tell me what setting I need to use? I already reset Safari. Couldn't figure out what else to do.

Why are there duplicate pictures on camera roll but none saving to photo stream?

My wife and I share an itunes account and when iCloud came out all her pictures were showing up on my photo stream (she does a lot of screen caps of cute animal pics to send to her friends) so to stop that I set her up with her own iCloud account. Now when she takes a picture, seconds after she takes it, a duplicate copy appears right beside it, but none ever go to her photo stream folder. What gives? At first I thought maybe she had HDR on, but it's not. Then I thought maybe I didn't have photostream on correctly but looking at it it all looks fine. It's running the latest version of iOS5. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

If your device has stopped adding photos to photo stream, save any photo stream photos that you want to keep on your device to the camera roll, then turn photo stream off (which will delete the photo stream photos from your device) and back on. That may get photo stream to function properly again.

Laptop up to tv using dmi cables, why is there no picture or sound?

I bought an HDMI to DVI video adapter, cause I alreay had the DMI cable, and I hooked it up to my laptop and all that shows up on my tv screen is my laptops wallpaper. No icons, nothing. I wanted to watch something using VLC (or any other video player) but nothing is happening.
What do I do to make it work? Like specific steps please.

Hi: Glad that it made sense. You are correct the HDMI cable will normally carry an audio signal, unfortunately the DVI cable doesn't. You'll need a separate cable from the Line-Out/Headphone jack on your MacBook Pro to the appropriate jack on your TV.

I had my music stored on iTunes on my old laptop which is no longer working. I purchased an iPad 2 but don't understand why there is no way of connecting my iPod to my iPad to transfer my music over. Is there an app or something I can use to operate my iPod through my iPad, instead of a PC? If not, then I guess I should've bought a new lap top instead of an iPad.

It could be a GPU issue, a display issue or a display connection issue. The genius bar technician will offer you a definitive answer and should fix it under the warranty provisions.
