Hi Ccorning, When a vertical line (top to bottom) is produced only when using the feeder (ADF) of your laser product, the issue would actually be due to a small mark or debris on the scanning glass area that sits directly under the left panel cover of the ADF. This occurs because as the paper feeds through the ADF and across the scanning area, every inch of the paper passes over the small mark which gets picked up by the scanner. This then produces what looks like a line. However, thorough cleaning can resolve the issue. You can clean the platen glass and the underside of the ADF by following the procedure below. 1. Turn OFF the Main Power Switch and disconnect the power cord. 2. Open the ADF. 3. Clean the ADF scanning area on the left side of the platen glass and the same area on the lid (the area that would touch the scanning area when the lid is down) with a cloth dampened with water. You will want to carefully and fully clean the glass in the ADF scanning area. Look for scratches, tiny spots and marks of any sort. If marks are noticed, you may have to clean the platen glass up to three times or more depending on what created the mark (i.e.. correction fluid, pen ink). You can use a soft lint free cloth either dry, with glass cleaner or water to clean the glass and may have to scrub until it squeaks to remove certain types of marks. NOTE: Please spray the cloth with the cleaning solution and not the glass. Another way to ensure the mark is removed is to use a credit card by placing in on a angle and sliding it across the glass in one direction. The plastic of the card will not scratch the glass. You can then lift the credit card when reaching the end of the glass and return to the other side to slide it across again. Then wipe the area with a soft, dry cloth. 4. Close the ADF. 5. Reconnect the power cord and turn ON the Main Power Switch. Caution: Be careful not to get your fingers caught. After cleaning the glass, run 4-5 blank/clean pages through to test it. If the thin black line still appears, please try cleaning the scanning area again as a mark on the glass is the only cause for this. If the issue persists, there may be a scratch in the glass which would require service. If further assistance is needed, please feel free to Contact Us.

Why is there a thin dark line between two of my three cover images that wasn't there before? When I delete the images, you can tell that there is extra space between the first two image boxes.

Getting ready to purchase my first book, I looked over everything once more and noticed that there is now a thin gray line between the first two of my three cover images. I believe this may have happened when I switched out the left image. When I delete the images, you can see an extra space between the center and left image boxes. How can I fix this without starting over?

Like I said, I thought I had done some damage -- even though the drop was just a couple of inches that was my very first thought, but when it came and went with which app I was in (or not) I knew it wasn't a damaged SCREEN. So I wondered if it was a different damaged part, memory or some such.
When I saw that others had the exact same shape, I could only imagine that perhaps the phone was indicating it was running a diagnostic, had been forcefully dropped, had a faulty/damaged accelerometer or some other purposeful object. It clearly wasn't random, it was a definite shape.
Hey Paul! I'm hoping they've seen the issue and tried replacing a few parts or something... Ya never know. As a (mostly) retired guy I have the time!
I also mentioned in a kind of oblique way that I had enabled the Kanji keyboard. I should also mention that I have the field strength test enabled so that I am able to see the -db numbers instead of the antenna bars. That's right in the same area, so it could be related.... maybe... or not. The screen was unlocked when this happened and I'm guessing I pushed a whole lotta buttons and/or icons as I was grabbing at it... I wonder if it is possibly an easter egg of some sort -- just the right combo of touches. Then again, it bounced right on THAT corner... LOL
That's the only stuff I've ever done to the phone. It's never been jailbroken or anything like that. It has taken a few falls in its lifetime but none resulting in any obvious damage.
It's a 32GB iPhone 3Gs and it is now 2 years old (bought June 27, 2009.) I'm just happy that it seems to be OK. While Apple's stock may be the largest market cap in the US, my portfolio sure isn't.

My Classic developes two thin horizontal lines across the top third of the screen.

After a day using my classic in the car, I plugged it into its speaked dock and niticed two thin horizontal lines all the way across the top third of the screen.

You can try Resetting the iPod, won't work, if LCD screen is damaged or the display chip surface mounts has gone wobbly, which mean going in for servicing.

Why have I got an exclamation mark in the top left corner of my outbox iphone 5

I sent a message to a third party and it got delivered ok. Since then I am now seeing an exclamation mark inside a red area in the top left hand corner of my iphone 5. I've tried logging out of Yahoo and then back in. I've switched my phone off for two minutes and then gone back in but the thing is still there?

I have a 2 inch gray bar across the top of my home page now after dragging a few windows around my desk top. I'm not sure if it's a mozilla thing or google thing but it just appeared and I would like to get rid of it. g

My home page is just www.google.com with a search box and a picture of some planets as a background from my computer. While I was dragging the restored down browser window, I slipped with my mouse and now I have a light gray two inch bar across the top of my background picture. It's below the; Search-Images-YouTube-News-Gmail-More icons. When I right click on it and select inspect Element (Q) it says div#gbx1.gbqfh in three different colors. I would like to get rid of it, but I don't know if it's a google or Mozilla issue. I know google has been changing things so it wouldn't surprise me if it was just a coincidence.

Is there any text in that gray bar?
I see some buttons on it, do they have a tooltip?

Why is there a large grey roundel at the top of all my mail messages?

I don't want this to happen:
Suddenly, in Mail in Yosemite, every outgoing and incoming message displays a large grey roundel at top right, beside the date, containing the initials of the person who sent it. If I sent it, the initials are mine. If it was sent by somebody else, their initials show.
I didn't ask for Apple to do this, I don't see the point of it, and I want to stop it from happening.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can do this?

Purple line at the top of MacBook Pro Screen

This purple line has appeared recently, I don't know what is causing it. I can see it in the dashboard space, mission control, and at the login screen.

Go step by step and test.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Startup into SafeMode
     Start up in Safe Mode. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18760
3. If the steps given above don’t help, try restarting the Dock.
    Restarting the Dock:
    Applications > Utilities > Terminal
    Launch Terminal.
    Wait until the $ sign shows up.
    Enter the command     killall Dock
    Press the enter key on the keyboard. Wait until the prompt shows up.
    Quit Terminal.

6th Gen nano has thin white line around the icons and wont respond to touch

I sent away my 1st Gen nano and got sent one of the 6th Gen ones. When recieved there are thin white lines around the icons and the screen doesnt not respond to touch. I have reset and reset and nothing has worked
