Why is there an error on apple's sit to download the icloud for pc?

I keep trying to download the Window Pc icloud and it give me an error on Apple's website. You think they would know this.. I just need to download it. THanks!

Hi, I'm a pc user and am trying to access an ical via the icloud. This ical houses information about work etc and it is quite important that I can gain access to it. To that end I have created an apple id and password and downloaded the icloud for the pc. However , when I get to the sign in page and use my apple id, I get a message to the effect that my apple id is ok, but its no good for an icloud account/ or I dont have an icloud account. You must create the account using an Apple device, a Mac (Lion or greater) or an IOS device (IOS5 or greater). Having done that you will be able to sign in from your Windows machine.
FYI, iCal is an application that can display calendars from iCloud (and others) it is not a calendar itself, merely a calendar client. In Windows Outlook is the calendar client.

if you are trying to download and install ios7, it is probably because of the enormous amount of traffic apple's download servers must be experiencing. things should return to normal before too long, just hang tight

It has the error range of 3000's which states

This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

Yep, me to exactly the same problem, the error message keeps telling me to check my internet connection or try later. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. Is it an apple server problem?

Thanks so much for your reply. In the meantime, everything else is working. I called Apple support and they were very unhelpful, wanted to charge me for support on a phone I'm trying to get rid of to upgrade to the iPhone 5, but, I can't get rid of it until I synch it to my computer.... This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

I have a an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes. All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem.

The movie in question is not 'corrupt' as you can watch it in iMovie direct from the SD card but as soon as you try to import it, it just says 'error'. iIve tried moving the file to an external drive ( and other variations on this theme) then importing but have had no luck.
Can anyone please help me.

Thanks for the pointers. The file type is .mts (a proprietry sony one).
I have now found some video converter software (Wondershare and iSkysoft) at a cost. Either will convert this file for me into .mp4. This I can then import into iMovie without any problems. I've checked this on the trial versions and it worked well but without paying am left with a giant watermark in the video
The mystery (which I still havent solved) is why did 20 other .mts files import fine and then this one not?
If you could point me in the direction of some free .mts converter software that would be the cherry on the cake.
