Why is there blank space showing desktop background above and below my browser window? How to fix this?
I recently installed Firefox on a new PC and this latest version shows either the desktop background or the content of the open window behind my browser above and below the browser window, to the right of the menu bar and tabs. This is something I've never seen before and it's annoying. I want things back the way they were, when my entire screen was browser window, except for the button bar at the bottom of the screen. I tried the factory reset, no help. Tried full screen. Not what I want. How do I get rid of these window backgrounds around the browser?
Try to disable transparency in Windows.
Right click in a free space on your desktop.<br />
Left click on Personalization.<br />
There are four options at the bottom of the screen, choose "Window Color and Appearance".<br />
Select a border color<br />
Uncheck: "Enable transparency"<br />

When using Connection Doctor to see what is could be causing the issue, look for the red dots to let you know what is wrong. Then all you have to do is correct that information. You can double click on the section that is giving you issue and it will take you there. Most issues could be just password being entered incorrectly. I figured out my problem...... I have custom text tones set up for certain ppl and had the default text tone set to "none" well with the iOS6 update it made it so if your default text tone is set on "none" then you won't hear what I call the send and recieve text sounds when in a converstation... if you change the default text tone to any text tone other than "none" you will get your send and recieve sounds back.... kinda annoying if you don't won't random texts from ppl waking you up... so I made a custon text tone that is called silence with just recording a few seconds of dead noise then edited it and turned all the sound levels down to 0 and set that as my default text tone.... now I have the send and recieve text sounds in a conversation and everything is fine! Sorry Nehucskter the first time I had this problem thats the first thing I did was reboot my phone.... first thing you do for everything lol....

Why is there a shadowed line running down the middle of my browsing window?
All of a sudden there's a shadowed line running down the middle of my browsing pane. It does not show up in other programs, and I've closed and started the browser several times and it won't disappear. It starts at the top and continues down vertically about 3/4 of the way down the pane and is a little to the left of center.

hello, this is currently a problem in firefox when you first close all open firefox windows and then close the application afterwards - the bug should be addressed in a later version of firefox.
as a workaround in the meanwhile you could close firefox (through firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''. -
I just purchased a new iphone 4S and I'm trying to loan some music from itunes. I keep getting a message that says not enough space on my phone. I checked my phone and I have 5.1G available. I deselected all the songs on my itunes to try and get it to sync and I keep getting the same message. Any tips?

Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
1. Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
2. Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
3. Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
4. Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
- If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
5. Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
- Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
- Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
- Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
- Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
6. Restore using iTunes.

Whenever I sign into safari the webpage will show a static blue, black, and white screen for a few seconds. What is this? They said it was because I needed to update my software, well I have done that and it is still doing it. Any recommendations?

Why T61 have faster upload than desktops (model m81 and below)
The issue was when we try uploading files, desktop have slow upload while T61 can upload fast. The difference when we tested a 15mb file upload was 15secs for T61 and 2-3mins for desktops. Below were the testing done on how we came up on the conclusion that desktops can’t emulate the upload speed of T61:
- Uninstall/reinstall IE and reset IE options on reported slow upload desktop but upload still slow.
- Performed test upload on different uploading sites use in our company using T61 and upload was fast. Performed test upload on same sites using desktop but upload was slow. This test eliminates the possibility that only specific sites have issue with the upload.
- Login to a freshly formatted desktop but upload still slow . Login to a freshly formatted T61 and upload was fast. This test eliminates the possibility that an application on T61 laptop might be the cause of the fast upload.
- All desktops and T61 used in the testing were using onboard NIC card and properly installed.
Please advise how can we emulate the upload speed of T61 using desktops. Both laptops and desktops that we are using are LENOVO brand. We also have tested upload on T400 and it was slow but our main objective is for the desktops to have fast upload as T61.Hello,
You may wish to check and verify that the network settings are identical on all computers and that any software they are running which affects the network connection (firewall, antivirus and so forth) is configured identically.

My screensaver preference was set at showing the last 12 months of iPhotos on my Mountain Lion. Just updated to Maverick and now it shows "no photos." Tried to reset, but it does not give me the option to personalize using my iPhotos as an option to do so. I do not want to use what Apple has chosen, but want my pictures. How do I get this back?
You need to upgrade to the latest 64 bit Mavericks optimized, compatible version of iPhoto.
Older versions of iPhoto will no longer work under OS X Mavericks.
What will happen is that the new iPhoto library will be updated to work the new version of iPhoto an Mavericks and the updated iPhoto library will no longer be accessible to older versions of iPhoto or older versions of OS X.
If you want to be able to access the current configuration of your Libary with older version of iPhoto an older versions of OS X, then you need to create a copy of the IPhoto lIbrary and move this copy to another location
You can save the duplicate iPhoto Library anywhere on your Mac's internal hard drive.
I created a new folder in my Home folder/directory called My Photos and stored the duplicate iPhoto library there along with other images I didn't want to be in iPhoto.
As long as the copy of the iPhoto library is made before you let the new version of iPhoto convert it, it will still be intact for older versions of iPhoto and OS X to access at some future date, if needed. -
My iPhone lists every song (songs that I have imported from cd's, but not purchased through iTunes) twice. iTunes only shows 1 instance of each song. If I delete a doubled up entry from the phone, it deletes the whole song. Has anyone else run into this problem?
