Why is there extra white space at the top of swf file?

I can't figure out how to get rid of extra white space in the browser at the top of a swf file. It looks fine when I preview the file, but when I do publish preview in flash/ try to incorporate in HTML, there's an extra 1/4" at top of window.

Do you have the html page (that you have the swf file embedded into) set so that there are no page margins? Your "body" tag should look like this…
<body leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" topmargin="0">

  • Why is there extra white space on below the navigation bar?

I am running Nightly 6.0a1, and for the past few days, there has been extra white space under the Navigation Toolbar, as though there is an extra empty toolbar. The only toolbar I have is the Navigation Toolbar. BTW, this happens w/ tabs on top and bottom. Here's a screenshot: [http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/cg2916/extraspace.png http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af162/cg2916/extraspace.png]

Do you see any toolbars listed in "Nightly > Options" that are visible but do have a check mark?

  • Why is there extra white space after exporting to JPEG?

After exporting an *.ai file to jpeg using  150 ppi and 5 for compression, I have extra white space below the artwork. This has happened in two files after exporting.

    Urthie,
What about the Artboard, is that aligned to the Pixel Grid (it is if the size is a whole number of points/pixels and one corner is at X=Y=0 or another set of integer values, otherwise not)?
    Edit: Cross posting.
Congratulations, some things are difficult to spot (and guess for others); your finding the solution is the best happy ending.

  • Why is there extra white space around an imported image?

I had made a JPEG2000 format image sized at 119 pixels wide by 142 pixels tall. Went to convert it to a pdf file and Acrobat took the liberty of enlarging the images size to what I assume is the smallest size supported by the format.
Any ideas on how to resolve this without having to open and edit the pdf directly? Ya know, during export.
    Acrobat Version: XI Pro

The new Acrobat size is formatted at 1 inch by 1 inch (300px x 300px). Importing this new *.pdf file back into photoshop interestingly reduces this back to the original size, however, handling of the pdf when importing into say, InDesign, will retain the new size. This might be just be a media box, but I would rather change the formatting than adjust placement options every time.

  • When using gmail on safari, there is white tie on the top

when using gmail on safari, there is white tie on the top and I don't know why it is.

Might be a third party plugin or extension causing this ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not a plug-in issue, select the Extensions tab. If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.  If that made a difference, uninstall one at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the culprit.

  • Why is there unwanted white space added to all .jpg/.png when "inserted" into Dreamweaver CS4?

I have two seperate sites/seperate root folders that I am building right now and every image that I insert into Dreamweaver has an extra white space added to the left of every image. Please help, I must have checked/unchecked something in my preferences. Thank you!
Its not in my CSS or in the HTML coding...from my site:
    <a href="optomized-large/Havana-Night-(66-of-312).jpg" title=""> <img src="optomized-thumb/Havana-Night-(66-of-312).jpg" width="100" height="150" alt="" /> </a>

You do know how wrong it is to make a web page that is nothing but images, right? It's on the list of the 10 worst mistakes you can make for sure.
Anyhow, look at this page -
    http://www.murraytestsite.com/denver.html
I have outlined every image on that page with a 1px red border.  There is no unwanted white space being added to those images.  If there were you would never see the menu button images that close together.  I have also put a 1px green border on the left of the container div.  Note that the images are snug against that green border.

  • Get rid of the white space at the top and bottom of the report when Printing as PDF document

    Hello All,
I have a wider tablix report which is 29 inches wide. I have given the paper size as custom and width as 29 and height as 11 in report properties.I have deployed it and saved it as PDF document. When I print preview the report I am using the paper size as
tabloid (17 by 11) and selected the orientation as Landscape. I am getting the full report without any stripping but I am getting some extra space at the top and bottom when I print the report. Can anyone help me how to get rid of this space? . I checked the
margins for the report and it was 0in. Please help.
    Thank You

    Hi There
In Reporting Services (SSRS 2008), there are white spaces preserved in the report body by default. When the white space extends the body size beyond the width of the report, blank pages will be generated. To avoid the issue, you can set the “ConsumeContainerWhiteSpace”
property of the report to “True”.
Please try to adjust your margins (top + side) and hopefully this problem will get resolved
Body Width <= Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)
    Horizontal usable area:
    X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin + Column Spacing)
    Vertical usable area:
    Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height)
Body Width <= Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)
    Horizontal usable area:
    X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin + Column Spacing)
    Vertical usable area:
    Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height)
If you have any questions please ask.

  • White Space at the top of Report output in Portal

    Hi,
I am running a Report in Portal through WAD template.
in Report output a big white space comes at the top (almost half a page) and below that report result is shown.
I want to remove that space (report result should start from top)
I tried to check all the parameters in WAD but no success.
Could you please show me a way out.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
Check whether there is any space above the web items in the template. There shouldn't be any space left as u doesn't need that.
Also check whether you have used any web items and hidden them on top of the web template.
Also try the below one meanwhile which may be helpful...
Insert a table (Not Web item). Follow the below steps...
Go to Menu bar-->Insert->Table->Insert Table. Select the number of rows and columns necessary according to the web items you want to insert into the Web template.
Drag & drop the relevant web items into the tabular grids.
Assign points if this helps u...
    Regards,
    KK.

  • Why is there a white band on the lower left of my tv?

  • Why is there a green line at the top of videos I shoot on my iPhone 4s?

I got my iPhone 4s at launch and have been pretty happy with it. One thing that is bugging me however is the presence of a green line at the top of every video I have shot so far. The green line doesn't show up while shooting the video or playing it back on the phone but when I play it back on my computer its there. I've tried several computers and also made sure I was on the latest version of QuickTime and none of that has helped. I don't see any settings in QT that make it go away.

I need to make a correction it is the upper left for the camera.
It is also strange if I start recording in this position I can turn the IPhone around while recording without having the green line.

  • Why is there an empty space on the right of my page when previewed in browser?

I've followed the guidelines on the design section of Muse but when I preview the page in the browser, I can scroll right and there be more of the page that hasn't been designed. I'm not sure what Pinning is but does it have something to do with that? I'm pretty sure it's an easy fix but I'm new to Muse and can't figure it out! Please Help!

    Here's the site...
    Home
The browser window is whatever automatically comes up, but it loads filling the whole browser window. The problem is that you can scroll into empty space.
I really don't understand pinning at all, could you give me a brief explanation of what it is or a link to a tutorial video that can. Thank you so much for the help guys!
Also, you'll notice the facebook feed I got from the facebook developers site isn't working. They say the message displayes comes up when the "author then deletes the post or changes the post audience selector from public"
All our posts are public so don't know who to fix this?
    Again, thanks for your help!

  • Why is there a white strip down the side of the screen on my iPad Mini, and how do I fix it?

I got back from class today and there is a strip avbout an inch and a half wide on my screen that is white. you can see through the white and you can touch the area and it still works. Also, on the right side of the strip there are a lot of multi colored lines that I cannot see through, but I can also touch that area and get the appropriate response.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help I suspect there is a hardware problem with the iPad. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Why is there a question mark in the top right corner of finder window?

just noticed this today, what does it mean?
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/60782625@N08/5681554895/
when i click on it it says " the item can not be found" what item?
    thanks for your help.

This just happened to me. Help.
There was a mounted disk image on the desktop. I used to command-drag these to the drive so that it would copy as a whole folder. I just did that in Mountain Lion. But a folder was nowhere to be found. I forgot about it and just ejected the disk image.
Now I see there is a question mark at the right of every Finder window. I can't seem to remove it.
EDIT: I googled for the answer and found it. It can be removed by first right-clicking to "Customize Toolbar". Then drag it off and poof..

  • I just updated to the newest Firefox and now my Facebook is messed up: big white space at the top of every page and all left hand column content is in the middle of the page. :-(

I've turned off my non-essential add-ons and nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • Conditional Build Tab for image leaves extra white space

I've applied the "Print" Conditional Build Tag to an image in
my online help. When I generate the help and view it in the
browser, extra white space is inserted between the steps. For
example, instead of the steps being:
    1.
    2.
    3. etc.
    They now look like this:
    1.
    2.
    3. etc.
Why is there extra white space where the image used to be?
Thanks in advance for your help. Using RoboHelp7 -- WebHelp.
    Bill

Probably there is a paragraph break or a space that you can't
see but is not enclosed in the conditional tag.
Check the html code immediately before and after the tag.
