Why is there no auto-bookmarking for playlists?

I have read many requests for better iPod bookmarking capabilities. I am amazed there are no good answers. The only half-baked solutions I have seen are buying multiple iPods or manually converting mp3 and m4a to m4b files.
I have filled my iPod with several language courses, business courses and audio books, in addition to different types of music for different listening moods. Whenever I switch between these different types of contents, I want to continue where I left off. The inability of my iPod to keep track of what I have listened to in different contexts is certainly a major product deficiency.
The simple, straight-forward solution would have been to let the iPod player automatically maintain and persist a bookmark position for each playlist. And change the default behavior to continue playing from the auto-saved bookmark position when switching between playlists, rather than restarting from the beginning.
This just cannot be hard to implement! Where have the usability engineers been?

try one of these, keeping files to 5 or less hours, stereo, and strongly recommend MarkAble.

Why is there no auto streaming photo in ios7?

You still have not made it clear if we are talking about photo stream or shared photo streams here.
Because I know for sure that this DOES work for photo streams. If it doesn't for you, try turning photo streams off and then on or restoring your phone.

  • Aperture 3 update.  Why is there still no eraser for the retouch tool?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but: Why is there still no eraser for the retouch tool?
I realize you can delete retouch strokes, but they are in linear order so you often have to delete useful ones to go far enough back to get the one that you've decided no longer works.
I would rather have the ability to erase strokes back to the original image, much like the way the History Brush works in Photoshop, and indeed the eraser tool works in many other Aperture bricks.
Example, I retouch an eye, and then move on to retouch an ear.  Then I decide I don't like the eye brush strokes.  In order to remove one stroke on the eye retouch, I have to delete all the successful brush strokes I've made to the ear (i.e. those that came after the stroke I wish to remove from the eye).  This is needlessly complicated and inefficient.
Many of other bricks in Aperture have an eraser tool to selectively remove brushstrokes.  Why not the retouch tool?
Also, many other bricks in Aperture allow for stacking or layering bricks of the same adjustment with different brush choices.  Why not the retouch tool?
    Am I missing something?

We are just users here.  Feature Enhancement requests need to be made via Apple's official approved channel.  You can get there from within Aperture by clicking "Aperture➞Provide Aperture Feedback".
Retouching (and cloning) involves not just applying a transformation to the selected pixels, but basing that transformation on _other, non-contiguous_ pixels sampled from the image.  This leads me to think that there may be intractable technical problems setting up the kind of workflow you propose.

D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time.  It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates.  In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
    2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud?  If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
#3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
#4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.
I hope this provides you many of the answers you are looking for?  If not please feel free to respond back with any additional inquiries which you have.  Also if you are experiencing any difficulties with the update process please post this as well.  It may not be necessary to have a full understanding of the inner workings of the Adobe Application Manager to help you resolve your difficulties.

  • Why is there a service fee for repairs n

This will be my 3rd RMA in my short period of owning a Zen Micro. When I was re emailed by creative, they said I needed to pay $25 for a service fee.
Why is there a service fee for repairs now for common problems such as the infamous earphone jack?

    The tariff guide still says
Installation, Activation & Equipment Charges Activation Fee
All new BT TV customers will be charged a £35 activation fee.
Any existing BT TV customers taking a new set top box will also be charged a £35 activation fee.
Optional Engineer Install (Box service only) The charge for the engineer install option is £35. Optional Broadband Extenders (Box service only)
The charge for one set of optional Broadband Extenders is £35
So if you can't get the precise order you want online why not phone the BT customer options team and place your order that way.

  • Why is there favorites and bookmarks in Safari?

What is the difference between adding a web site as a Favorite vs Bookmark in Safari on my iPhone?  Why is there both and when do I use "bookmark" vs "favorite"?

I'm not sure about the operation of bookmarks on Safari, but in Internet Explorer, there is a specific category in Bookmarks called the Favorites Bar. That is what shows up when you open Safari the first time on the phone. If you sync your bookmarks from the computer to the phone, then when you tap on the bookmarks icon on the bottom of the screen, you will see your entire bookmarks list from the computer. You can select any of your bookmarks from there. You also have the option to save a particular website to the homepage of the phone. The only problem with that versus using the bookmarks is the clutter on the homepage that would result.

  • App Store app in my iPhone crashes very often. Why? There is a solution for this?

I have tried to find for a way to contact/ask apple directly about this issue with no avail, until I found this place. This is my first question here. I am a newby.
Sometimes when I open my App Store app in my iPhone and I  am either browsing for apps, or looking for an update it  crashes. I do not know why, but sometimes is very frustrating.
We all know how frustrating is when any app crashes, or slows down. Sometimes there are ways to ask the developer directly why, and/or send a report for them to try to fix it. What about when is an app for Apple the one that crashes constantly, or slowes down? To whom do we need to contact? How can I complain?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Try resetting your phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • Why is there no exchange program for people who bought ipad2 before the release date of ipad3

I sold my iPad 64g 3g on 12 December 11 so I could buy and iPad 2 64g 3G iPad2 on Xmas then three months later ipad3 comes out I have been I contact with apple support and they tell me to sell it on the returns program they would offer me £300 for it I payed £700 with three years cover plan.
I would have been happy to wait three months if I was notified that there was an iPad 3 release date but nothing came out .
So I ask apple and you why is there no exchange program in place for new owners of iPad 2 to be able to exchange for iPad 3 this is good business for the support we give apple in buying they're products time after time

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Rhetorical Question: "Have you heard that juicy rumor about the 'iPad X' yet?"
Apple, as a rule, does not announce hardware products far in advance of actual ordering availability.
More importantly, the Terms of Service for users Apple Support Communities does not permit such speculation here.
There were rumors and speculation about capabilities of the 'iPad 3' published online within hours of the release of the iPad 2 one year ago. If you want to 'keep up' with the rumors, I suggest taking few moments every month to visit websites like The Unofficial Apple Weblog (tuaw.com), and The Apple Insider (appleinsider.com), among others. You'll find a wealth of information about current products as well as plenty of rampant speculation about future products and projected release dates there.
Regarding 'trade-in' or 'trade-up', Apple has built their organization to manufacture and market new devices, media, and software. As you discovered with your original iPad, the best solution may be to sell your current device privately and buy a new one if you have a compelling need to upgrade to the latest model.
And, try as I might, I've never convinced my local car dealer to take my 3-month-old vehicle with 3,000 miles in equal trade for the shiny new model that was just introduced. But honestly, I'm buying run-of-the-mill 'daily transportation', not collectible automotive-works-of-art that will appreciate in value over time.

  • HT204088 you have taken 1.58 from my debit card and i do not know why. There is no history for it. Please tell me what it is for

You have taken 1.58 from my debit card and i do not know what for. There is no history for it. Please tell me what it is for. Thank you

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple, we won't know.
Have you added or changed your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
    Store holding charge : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702
If not then you can contact iTunes Support via this page and see if they can help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Why are there multiple keychain records for same email account?

I have noticed that it takes sometimes up to 45 seconds for Apple Mail to send (whoosh...) an email. Then I started getting an alert asking for my password intermittently.
I checked my KeyChain Access and note 5 records for this email account dating back to 2007 and while the password hasn't changed in all these years, I note the "Where" field is different in some of these records. So my uneducated hunch is Apple Mail is getting a little confused and having to go thru all 5 records insteads of just one.
As note multiple records for other email accounts and website logins I have.
    1. Why is this happening?
    2. Is it normal
    3. Can I, should I, delete all but one for each item be it an email account or web login, etc.
    or
Should I delete all 5 and let a brand new one be created for Keychain next time I send or get email for this particular email account?
I also see there is some info on keychain syncing. Does this have anything to do with my situation?
    Thx,
    Steven

I'm a little distracted with Steve's passing. He will be missed to say the least
But if it isn't too disrepectful to reply at this time, I'm unclear with your advise because there are 5 items all for the same email account. A couple are duplications, and the others have slightly different "Where" info.
I can't imagine I need all 5 and wonder if I should delete 4 and keep the newest one?
All my email accounts have multiple entries.
Anyone know why this is happening and if it's OK to delete the oldest ones and keep just the newest?

  • Why is there NO Search Help for Table-Field T056U-VZSKZ?

    Hi Experts,
    A blessed day.
Table-field T056U-VZSKZ (Control table for calculation of interest on arrears-Interest calculation indicator or account number) is being used in a screen-field of  a standard transaction in SAP (Account Determination: Posting Specifications).  However, this Table-Field T056U-VZSKZ does not have a search-help which is needed for the transaction. I've looked for an OSS note for this, but to no avail.  Is there a reason why Table-Field T056U-VZSKZ does not have a search-help?
    Thanks so much.
    Regards,
    JO

The music store is part of iTunes. That is why they are together on the menu. As many topics would offer the same advice for music in your library or music in the store, grouping them together makes sense in terms of reducing redundant entries.
Sorry you found it confusing. I, too, once found some things Apple a bit different. That was about two years ago when I bought my iBook. StarDeb is another recent switcher. And I feel confident in saying this: either of us would be more than happy to help you with anything that gets "lost in translation". We both know there is a learning curve when you move from the XP world to a more fruit-based view of things

  • Why are there so few games for Mac OS X?

Yes, I do know the answer, because everybody writes software for Windows.
But aren't we at a point where times are changing? Many people exchange their PC's for a Mac nowadays, and the number of Linux (which is basically the same under the hood) is rapidly growing too. Those people like to play games too, don't they?
Does anyone see some light in the distance for companies porting their games to the Mac too?

Agreed. You have to remember everything is drive by economics in our capitalistic society so games are written for the OS that has largest market penetration and most likely to return huge profit and currently that is Windows. That is also why one of the most famous game programmers, John Carmack, just recently rewrote some of his games for iPhone/ipod touch and made quite a nice profit from his own account.
"Carmack said that there was a lot of "hand wringing" initially over the idea of spending the company's own money (there was no publisher to help fund development) on making games for the iPhone. Doom Resurrection, when it hit, was probably the most expensive game to develop for the iPhone, Carmack says.
"It did really well for us," he said. "It was Wolfenstein Classic that made the argument for iPhone development for me. We made quite a bit of money off of that."
    http://kotaku.com/5397350/carmack-on-iphone-fallout-quake-live-and-elves-and-orc s
That is not to say that Mac's can't be used as game machines since Apple actually has a webpage dedicated exactly to this you can check out:
    http://www.apple.com/games/hardware/
So in a nutshell to answer the OP question the reason you see fewer games on mac's is because it's not profitable. As you can see if there is no technical limitations writing games like Doom3 for iphone there is none for the mac.
I know I've personally not bought a macosx game since I also have a pc and use that for games so I'm not helping the business case for more games for mac. Vote with your pocket and go out and buy more mac only games if you want to see more for the mac.
