Why is there no delete button on pictures which I synced from my computer

The photos which I synced to my iPad from my computer do not have delete buttons; those which were Camera Roll do have the trashcan icon.  How can I delete a photo from a synced album?

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • Delete photos on my iPad that sync from my computer

My iPad sync all the photos I have on my computer and I want to delete them from my iPad but not able.
Trying to find the way to do it in iTunes but didn't see how... Please help!

    1. Rename My Picture on computer to My Picture 2
    2. Create an empty folder and call it My Picture
    3. Sync the empty My Picture folder with your iPad; that will remove all the pictures on your iPad
    4. Delete the empty My Picture folder
    5. Rename My Picture 2 back to My Picture

  • How to delete photos from iPhone 4 which have synced from computer

I believe this dilemma has been documented many times before and I have in fact had to resort to resetting my iphone to factory settings to remove the thousands of photos which were synced from my computer in the past. Today however, after many attempts, I have managed to remove all those photos, so I wanted to write this down for anyone else who finds themselves in my predicament. On my computer, I went to Windows Explorer and created a new folder and dragged it to "pictures" where there was a single photo displayed. I dragged this single photo into my new folder. I then went to iTunes and selected my iPhone and clicked on the 'photo' tab. Here I ticked the sync photos from box, selected my new folder and selected "selected folders". A new screen appears for folders and I ticked the new folder box and then the sync button on the bottom right of the screen. Voila, after many tries they have gone and I am left with my iPhone photos which I am able to delete normally if I wish. I appreciate people will have different computer operating systems etc so instructions may be different for them but I hope this technologically challenged individual may have helped one or two of you. I remain at a loss as to why Apple can't find a quick fix ie a trash can, where we can delete these photos. Cheers

If your OS detail provided is accurate, you won't be using or syncing this iPhone with your Mac.
On this iPhone, you can go to Settings > General > Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings. This will get rid of all your friend's content and settings making this iPhone truly yours.

  • How can i delete a photo album that has been synced from another computer

I am trying to delete a photo album that I do not need anymore from an iPad 4. But the album has been synced from a computer that I don't have access to anymore. Is there anyway around this ?

Photos that were synced from a computer can only be deleted by connecting to a computer's iTunes and changing the sync selection on the device's Photos tab.
Is that the only album that was synced from that computer (and you now sync the iPad to a different computer ?), or do you have other albums from it that you want to keep on the iPad ? If you want to keep one or more albums on it then they will need to be on the computer that you sync to so that they can be selected on the Photos tab and re-copied to the iPad from that computer. If you want to remove all synced photos then try selecting and syncing just an empty folder

  • Why is there an arrangement button in Displays when I don't have an external display attached??

Why is there an arrangement button in Displays when I don't have an external display attached to my MacBook Pro?

I can't even get my pictures from iPhoto to my external hard drive I just bought.
Quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library to the external drive as an intact single entity - launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key and point iPhoto to the new location - test the library fully and then delete the library from the internal drive
I'm about ready to just get a disposable camera and call it good.
No problem if that makes you happy
My hard drive is so full I keep getting messages that it's almost full and won't work right if I don't delete something.
That is correct - you must have 10% or a minimum of 10GB of free space for efficient and safe operation
I'm TRYING but nothing is working. It's very frustrating, isn't it?
Maybe if you would give some details on what you are "trying" and what is "not working" someone could help - above is a specific answer to the specific question on how to move the iPhoto library
Not to mention, the CD drive has a disc in it that won't come out. I'm not anywhere near an Apple dealer, and my MacBook is under warranty, so I can't go anywhere but Apple.
I would post that in the MacBook forum rather than the iPhoto forum

  • I want to delete photos that I have backed up from my computer, but when I go to select there is a faded trash can icon which I cant access

I want to delete photos that I have backed up from my computer, but when I go to select there is a faded trash can icon which I cant access

If you copied the photos in question to your iPhone by connecting to itunes on your computer you need to do this again. Start itunes on your computer, connect your iPhone, select your iPhone in itunes and select the photos tab. as long as you are connecting with the same computer you should see, in the Photos TSB, a list of the photo albums on your computer. Those that were synced previously have a check mark and are selected. Deselect those you no longer want on the phone and then click on Apply or Sync. The deselected albums will be deleted from your iPhone but they will remain on your computer.
if you only want to remove a few specific photos from various albums on your iphone, then move those photos out of the albums they are in on your computer. Then sync with iTunes. The photos you removed from the albums on your computer will be deleted from the albums on your iPhone when you click on Apply or Sync.

  • Why will my pictures sync from my computer to my ipad2 but not my videos?

Why will my pictures sync from my computer to my ipad2 but not my videos?

Are you selecting them to sync in the music pane in iTunes on the computer? Are they in the correct format?
If these are videos that you shot yourself, try creating a folder for them in iPhoto - one that you can select in iTunes in order to sync. Make sure that they are in the correct format as well. Launch iTunes and click on the Movies subheading under the Library Heading on the left side. Click on one of the movies in the list and go to Advanced>Create iPad or Apple TV version and see if the movie converts.

  • How to delete photos in iphone which is transferred from mac, please help?

Please help and guide me how to delete photos in iphone which is transferred from mac book iphoto..
    Regards

You need to do it through iTunes, by unsyncing them
Wtih  your iPhone connected, open iTunes on your computer, and click on your iPhone's name.
This should bring up the Overview Page, then click on the Photos Tab.
From their uncheck the folders that have the images you want top remove from your phone. Then sync the phone. itunes will remove the pictures during the sync process.

  • Some of my pictures will not sync from iPhoto

I have an original iPad and an iMac (Early 2009) running Lion.  All of my pictures won't sync from iPhoto to the iPad.  I used to get an error message when I was running Leopard, before upgrading to IOS 5 on the iPad.  I no longer get the error message, but some events just won't transfer.  I seem to remember something about optimizing pictures??
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Ralph

Thanks!  I thought I had done that, but I was deleteing the wrong cache.  It was important that I deleted the cache in the iPhoto directory, which I couldn't figure out how to access.  I needed to use the "Show Package Contents" option on the dropdown menu of the "iPhoto Library" folder.
All is fixed and I have all my pictures on my iPad.

  • HT4236 I cannot delete duplicate photos off of my IPad 2 which were synced on my computer?  I deleted dup from my PCM menu on the computer, but that did not get them off the iPad.

I cannot delete duplicate photos off my IPad 2 which were synced on my computer.  I deleted duplicates from My pictures on my computer, but they were still duplicated when I added them back.

  • How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from a computer?

How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from another computer or SD card?

If they were synced from a computer then you can't delete them directly in the Photos app on your iPad, you will have to connect your iPad to your computer and use the iPad's Photos tab in your computer's iTunes to change your photo sync selection to exclude them
If the photos were copied onto the iPad from an SD card via the camera connection kit then you should be able to delete them in the Photos app e.g. via the Select button top right if viewing the photos in thumbnail view in Photos.

An iPhone can only sync with one computer at a time. All of the music you want on your phone must be on the same computer.
