Why is there not applescript support in iWork '13?

I have workflows that used to interface with iWork documents through applescript and now there is no support. Why would this be done? Is there a new script for iWork to get these working again. Without outside interface iWork is useless to me.

Until Apple adds it back, you can use Pages 4.  It should still be on your machine in Applications/iWork.

  • Why is there not more support from VMware for Sprng 1.2 for Python

It would seem that VMware/Pivotal would support the framework that was created for Python. What happened?

If you want support from Apple you need to contact them by phone or visit a store.
If you are still under warranty, that would be the best thing to do anyway.

  • When is iCloud going to fix there SPAM filters already?! Why is there not an Allow list in iCloud?!

When is iCloud going to fix there SPAM filters already?
! I have received 3 consecutive emails from the same domain although I marked the first one to arrive as SPAM. Truth be told none of them should get through. Why is there not an Allow list in iCloud?!

They say it can take up to 15 minutes for the SPAM filters to start working after you mark them as SPAM but I was receiving these at a greater than 15 minute interval.
Don't they do an MX record check on these emails to check if they are SPAM?
My guess is Apple has hired a 3rd party business to do SPAM scanning before the SPAM ever gets to Apple. They need to get on them.

  • Still no Automator / Applescript Support in iWorks 09

    Hi everybody,
i find it extremly annoying that there are still no iWork Actions in Automator nor is there any native Applescript Support ! Come on Apple, even the bad guys at Microsoft do have Automator actions in their Office 2008 product. I bought iWork 08 i will not buy iWork 09. Am i the only person who would like to have support for automator and applescript build into the products ?
    cheers
    Ronny

No, M$ feels they have to lead you by the hand. Apple knows there users are brighter and can do many things themselves.
What are they going to make? How do they know what automator actions will be needed by the community until the scripting is out and available, And they see how we end up using the technology.
Perfect example, they didn't introduce all 350+ functions available in XL in the numbers 1.0 version. They released about 150, then listened to the community to see what we wanted most. THEN they let their engineers go on those points, not WASTING their time and money creating stuff that nobody needs, or only 5% need. Now we have ~100 more functions, and even a new data type, duration, that XL doesn't have. why? because many people were trying to use Numbers to keep track of things like blood pressure logs, jogging logs, etc...
Another real world example, college campus', Believe it or not the best designers of campuses do not put sidewalks in except for around the buildings themselves, not between them. Because they cannot predict what class patterns the students will end up having, or what habits they, as a group, will develop. They wait till about a year later, see where the grass has been worn down to paths and make sidewalks over those paths.
This is classic design paradigms when you have a random, unpredictable user base that could require almost anything from you. Let them start by designing to fit their needs, then make official releases that take those concepts one step further and completely debugged and up to your standards.
Just my second set of two cents,
    Jason

  • Why Apple does not offer support for linux?

We all know the history of Apple. It clearly shows a trend to be open source, excepting for the licenses they share with Microsoft. In my personal case, I love open source because it has solved several of my problems. Just to share this with everyone, I am the network manager of a educational institution and I used to have my servers running on windows platform. Since we used to buy it all from Microsoft, they would give us free software for or labs, software like Visual Studio. They even assigned us engineers to plan everything for our servers, free of cost. Guess what? It was a disaster. We had our database destroyed by an external attack. We were “lucky” to have Microsoft in our servers and in our firewalls.
We had to take action, so I decided to switch to Debian, and to use IPCOP (a great dedicated firewall, if there is anyone interested, the link is: http://ipcop.org/ , please note, I am NOT affiliated with them, and I will receive no compensation or benefit if you chose to access it or not ). Both open source. The result, no external attack has been able to pass trough. After that, we switched most* of our e-learning platforms to open source, and guess what? We are saving over 60,000 yearly just in software. So for those who are looking for a good way to get good security without loosing an eye, try open source.
Now back to the point, I do not fully support any operative system. They all have their good features, or at least they should. The ones I know, are because I use them. My home network is composed by computers running in five different versions of Linux, two running in Mac OS X Tiger, and some others running in XP pro. My main computer is running in Ubuntu, and is really sad to see that there is no software from apple available for Linux. That is honestly the worst part of Linux, having no iTunes or QuickTime available. No way to see multimedia in the web, etc. A suggestion for apple would be, give support for Linux, there are a lot of us wanting the same.

Apple makes software and hardware. Therefore they
offer a total solution. Now they even can have
windows xp running on their hardware. Making a
version of mac os to run on linix isn't practically.
Under a mac is unix and you can run unix software
with the mac so you could do ever thing you are
    doing with a mac.
I did not know Linux was one type of computer, like Mac...
Next topic, If I was willing to pay for it, this thread would not exist, because I can actually use a commercial software to adapt the windows web plug ins to Linux... If I was in charge of Apple, I would propose to develop free software support of my products, - plug ins and so - to other operative systems... But of course, even if I did, it would not be up to me. It would have to pass trough several layers of bureaucracy, and it would take a lot of time to be approved or rejected.
Anyway, the main issue is, the three most important OS's are Windows, Linux, and Mac. And that can't be denied. Now you can even run Windows in a Mac PC, and vice versa... besides being fancy, what else could I do with a Mac PC using Windows, when I can build a machine able to run Windows for less than 300 bucks? OK if you want to try a Mac in a i386 or a x86... but I still rather to be the proud owner of a PowerMac G5 than the owner of a Pentium 4 / AMD using Mac OS.
Also, I thought it would be fun to see the reactions and opinions of other people with this topic, hence, I was not expecting anyone from Mac to read it, and really do something about it, because I know they won't.

  • Why is there no FLAC support in iTunes?

Why is there no support for flac in quicktime/iTunes ? It is a major mistake as you are leaving many of us tape traders/ OCD music collectors out in the cold. As "serious" as Apple is at supporting us professional users with wonderful programs like Logic, Final Cut and Aperture, you forget that we use iTunes too. SUPPORT FLAC!
    -Josh

Sorry, but we're all just your fellow users here, so none of us have any insight into why Apple includes or leaves out any given feature. If you want to make a suggestion to Apple, the best place (since there's currently no feedback page for the iTunes application) would be through the Mac OS X feedback page.

  • Why 0FI_Gl_40 is not delta supported?

    Hi Team,
Why 0FI_Gl_40 General Ledger Accounting: Line Items datasource is not delta supported? Full upload of FI-GL line item for any big industries is not a feasible solution.  0FI_GL_4/14 all prev extractors were delta enable but why SAP has made new 0FI_GL_40 delta disable? Quite strange step.  Please share with me your suggestion or view.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashish

check this Note 1290358 - DataSource 0FI_GL_40: Extraction of entry view
    Reason and Prerequisites
The DataSource 0FI_GL_40 also returns data from the entry view. The selection is controlled and the data separated from the general ledger view using the ledger: The initial value is allowed as a valid restriction and an initial ledger in a returned data record is to be interpreted as an entry view. To assist the selection and the replication, the general ledger (G/L) fields DOCNR, DOCLN and RYEAR in these data records are not left empty but transferred from the corresponding fields in the entry view (BELNR, BUZEI, GJAHR).
Note also that no delta method can be supported for the entry view. With this in mind, check whether the replication of the data compared to the (leaner) direct access offers enough advantages in your business scenario.
    Solution
To extract data in the entry view, the InfoPackage in BI must contain the initial value for the ledger selection.
The simplest variant is where no ledger selection takes place. In this case, the initial value automatically lies within the (empty) selection, and the entry view is requested together with all G/L ledgers. However, note that this option is only available as of ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 4, according to related note 1270834.
One possibility is to restrict the document status: If you are only interested in non-posted documents from the entry view, then it is sufficient to restrict the document status accordingly (the value 1 cannot be contained for BSTAT_S in the selection).
To request the entry view specifically in the InfoPackage, store an ABAP routine (variable type 6) in the data selection area for the characteristic RLDNR. In the predefined source code, between the lines
"$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line" and
"$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line",
insert the following lines (or similar source code with the same semantics):
    data: l_idx like sy-tabix.
read table l_t_range with key fieldname = 'RLDNR'.
    l_idx = sy-tabix.
    l_t_range-fieldname = 'RLDNR'.
    l_t_range-iobjnm    = '0AC_LEDGER'.
    l_t_range-sign      = 'I'.
    l_t_range-option    = 'EQ'.
    l_t_range-low = l_t_range-high = space.
    modify l_t_range index l_idx.
    p_subrc = 0.
In this case, only the initial ledger is requested with the InfoPackage. This corresponds exactly to the entry view.

  • Why is there not support

Is there any particular reason that MSI doesn't support its customers? I have a KT400 Ultra board that has a bios update (1.4) that has a known issue of giving incorrect temperature readings. This issue has been known for a while now and yet there is no solution for it other than rolling back your bios and losing the support offered with the 1.4 bios. There is a known issue with the via chipset and the crc error and the only solution I have found for my system is a beta patch written by a 3rd party. Does MSI not care about getting repeat business? The crc issue is to the point now that I am going to have to replace my board and if MSI support is this bad why would I want to but another board from them?

    Hi,
The temp reading is a bit strange, I know, but there is no single board on the planet that measure them correct...
This because the diode inside the XP-chip has a marging of +/-10% off :D
As for the CRC error, that was fixed sinds BIOS 1.3, so what's the problem?

  • WHY IS THERE NO DIRECT SUPPORT FROM APPLE

It is so hard to know if the support from the Apple support community is legit when one is not tech savvy we have members calling each other names, lingo that I don't undertsand and the last time I tried some advice I buggered up my whole system!!
My issues with search for emails on me.com or it simply cant be done ... I don't see why its so hard. I joined mobile me as internet had issues in China for gmail.
Now its a nightmare and Apple is doing nothing about it. I don't even know who to ask about getting out of icloud mail or reroute all me emails back to gmail now that I have a VPN.
I looked at the related forums and there is never a clear cut answer helllllpppp!!
