Why is there nothing in the advanced tab of the options? I click on the tab for advanced but there is nothing there.
Basically I need to go on the advanced options so I can disable the smoooth scrolling, because I don't like it, but whenever I go to tools/options/advanced it is just blank. On every other tab, like general, there are options but on advanced there is nothing. Help?
Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].
Update all your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): [http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/].
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

My folders that my message rules on iCloud divert emails to don't update when I open Mail on my iPad or iPhone. Only the inbox does. I have to click on each folder individually for it to update. A real pain as I have about 30 folders. Is there a way around this ? The folders update on my mac fine when i check mail without having to select each one of them. Can the iPad and iPhone do the same thing?
My Mac has 4 mail accounts coming into it, but you are correct, one of them is a POP account, (and unfortunately it is the main @ account, and is the one associated with my apple id, since we've had it for years). I couldn't figure out how to replace this with the Imap version, short of deleting that account entirely.
Is this what I have to do?

The only way I can open a new tab in Firefox is by right-clicking a bookmarked site and selecting "Open in a New Tab." I can't click on the New Tab + or CTR+T or open via File. WHY don't the other means work?
The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.

why cant i open all my bookmarks in a new tab? only the ones visible above me, not the ones that show up when i click in the arrow to the upper right?
Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story............... iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!

I think I have this problem even on earlier version. The thing is I set open link in new tab and not switch over to the opened tab. My habit is to open a pdf page in the background and let it load first. What happen is that when the pdf page finished loading ( i do not set to download it), it hijacks my middle mouse button control. When i scroll down or scroll up on my original tab, it wont scroll on the tab, but insttead it scrolls on the pdf tab. I have to click on the pdf tab, then i can use the scrolling function on other tabs back. As for when i opened several pdf tabs, it seems i have to click on the tab that just finished loading, that means several times until they all finish loading. It has been getting on my nerve lately. And all pdf trouble i search from google led to unable to open pdf, firefox hang or crash when opening a pdf and the likes.
core-el, i don't see the advantage of that or i can't figure out how i'm supposed to use it. for starters, i have to click the mouse in order to get "add bookmark here" to open, which is no different than clicking on the star in the location bar, or right-clicking on the page. there are also options in the bookmarks toolbar, but they all require clicking the mouse & holding down the right button, etc.
my goal is to use keystrokes only. typing on the keyboard, using both hands, using the space bar & my left pinky finger to tab over are all painless routines for me. as soon as i have to take my fingers off the keyboard & use the mouse, the pain begins.
as i said, in older versions of firefox, all i had to do to bookmark a page was click ctrl>d, then tab over & arrow down, when appropriate, to find the folder & add the bookmark. for me, as a touch-typist whose speed is between 60 & 80 wpm, this is lightning fast.
if i have this wrong, please correct me. i just see it as more mouse clicks that don't save me time or pain. -
We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
1) When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected. However when we click on the document link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option. Why does this happen?????
2) The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email; HOWEVER, one of our co-workers does get the check out option when clicking on the link in the email task. Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ???? We have compared our internet settings and adobe settings to ours and found no differences.
We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI. Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.No the person who can check out using the link in the email has the same permissions as me. We have looked at all kinds of settings, profile etc and nothing evident can be determined to explain the reason. However, one difference we did notice is that this person does not have a default web browser set and thus when clicking on items to open, it always pops up a dialog box asking which program to use to open it with. This person chooses Adobe Reader and it opens on the Sharepoint server as it should and she gets the checkout option in a dialog box just like clicking on the document in the library. My theory is that this step of choosing the program to open with is interrupting the typical way a pdf file is handled when clicking on URL links to the document, which is…. it is opened as temporary internet file rather than on the Sharepoint server. Hopefully someone can figure this out ☺

I purchased songs from 2 different computers using itunes with the same apple id. I had 1 iPod I used for these but I just recently got an iPhone and I was wondering why it wasn't letting me put my purchased songs on my iPhone?
You can transfer iTunes content from an iTunes library on a single computer only.
Since these songs were purchased with the same iTunes account, you can download the song that is not in your iTunes library on the computer you will be syncing your iPhone with. Or you can download the song or songs direct on your iPhone.

There used to be a preview window in mail where you could read the message in the mail box but now its gone. It just shows me who its from and the date. I now have to click on the message twice to get it to display. How do I get the preview box back?
There is a bug in Mail triggered by receiving a password-protected PDF as an attachment. According to reports, the bug is fixed in OS X 10.8.5.

I just upgrade my wife's IPad to OS7, and now she has to go through three steps to start a game. Is there a way to go back to the older way, which was just to click on the icon for the particular game she wants to play?

About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I am trying to set up my new ipad. I am at the Wi-Fi part. I have clicked on the network that we use at home but it isn't connecting. At first there was an IP Address, a subnet Mask and the DNS. Now I just have the DNS showing. I am not sure what to do next?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Required password for itunes keeps pop up on my kid's ipad constantly nonstop. So i put in password and then it keeps appear the confirm purchased pop up. I clicked on cancel a thousand times but it keeps popup right after i clicked cancel. Tried so hard to deleted the game and sign out the itune because the popup appeared right the way, but nothing works, i also tried to reset the ipad 5 times but the itune sign in requied keep pop up that i can't do anything else, after sign in, the in-app purchased confirm pop up again over and over and over right after i clicked canceled and the game is already deleted from my ipad. I have had too much problems since i updated an ipad, i have to reset an ipad many times every time i download an app. Help please.
I am having similar problems with iPad 3 freezing. It was fine before upgrade to IOS 8. Ready to throw it out!! No one has any answers other than the norm. Quite often have to hold power and home key down, which doesn't solve the problem. It just unfreezes the situation you are in. Wish this would be solved with the IOS 8!! Should have never upgraded, but never had a problem with Apple software before. Getting to feel like I am back with Windows.
