Why is this JSTL giving this error?

This code :
<c:set var="rssTitle" scope="page">
     <rss:itemTitle feedId="example1" index="1"/>
</c:set>---
Gives this error :
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
javax.servlet.ServletException: javax/servlet/jsp/el/VariableResolver
While this code works :
<jsp:useBean id="now" class="java.util.Date" />
Date: <c:out value="${now}"/>---
What is wrong?
Thanks for any help!

Hmmm...something similar happening to me.
Using sql tag libs The following works:
<c:out value="${sites.rows[0].name}" />but this causes the class not found exception for VariableResolver
<c:set var="site" value="${sites.rows[0]}" scope="session" />
<c:out value="${site.name}" />Now functionally these should be doing pretty much the same thing but the second gives an exception. I'm not convinced that this is an Aopache problem since the VariableResolver class is supposed to be in the javax.servlet.... package which is NOT something Apache get to mess with.
I've checked my jstl.jar and sure enough the class isn't there but I can't find a version of the jar file which DOES contain it. Any help anyone ?
For the completists among us;

Tlib 1.0
JSP version 1.2

    it is giving me a number format exception on the parse int, the error message says the string contains "30" so i dont know why it is giving me problems.

    ive got another one now. the very next line
    lift.setPerson( weight, name, counter);
    is giveing me Null pointer exception(in people.elevator)
    i instantiated the elevator object(lift) and the constructor makes an array of another object named People.

    the set people paramater list is in the right order and people should have been instantiaded with the rest of elevator.

  • Why is this error shwoing up when trying to acquire an image in labview?

    Possible reason(s):

    This error keeps showing up when i try to acquire an image and save it. the VI being used is attached.

    Hi bonesaw,
    You're getting this error because the IMAQ AVI is expecting the image type to be the same as what you had specified at the beginning (using the IMAQ Create.vi). At the moment you have wired the channel number to the image type terminal of the IMAQ Create.vi. You should change that property to Image Type instead of Channel.

  • Why is Premiere 6 giving a "Error writing file (disk full?)" message?

    Hello helpful experts,
    I'm using Premiere 6 on a Windows 7 machine.
    I have a file imported in to the timeline and it is set to play in reverse via the speed setting being set to -100 and it plays back in the preview window correctly, in reverse, when I click the play button.
    But when I do a  "File>Export Timeline>Movie" command I get an error message saying "An error occurred while making the movie. Error writing file (disk full?)"... but my hard drive is not nearly full, with over 30 gigs left open on it... and my RAM usage gadget shows over half of my RAM capacity is unused.
    Now previously, weeks ago on a different project, I was getting this same error message for a while when I would hit enter to preview my movie on the timeline (but that worked itself out somehow and eventually stopped giving me that error message).  But when I went to save and export, then I would not get the error message... now, it is just the opposite... I'm now getting the error message when trying to do an export and save the movie.
    And also now when I hit enter to preview, as opposed to just clicking the play button on the preview window, Premiere is going through the process of saving the movie since it is saving a temporary preview file... hopefully, since I'm getting this error message, I can find the temporary preview file and save it as my exported AVI file.
    But I still shouldn't be getting this error message when trying to save, or when trying to preview, as I did for a while a couple of weeks ago.
    Does anyone know about the erroneous error message that says, "An error occurred while making the movie. Error writing file (disk full?)"
    Thanks,
    numetro

    I am unable to complete captures because I get a message
    that says "capture stopped because disk was full." What
    does this mean?
    Daniel Conklin - 08:02am Apr 17, 2003 Pacific (#1 of 2)
    If you are using a Pinnacle card, a possible solution to
    this is to right click on the recycle bin, and set the
    percentage on your media drive to less than 2%.
    There a several other possible causes as well, but you
    need to supply some info about your system. How are you
    capturing and what format is your video? How big is
    your hard drive?
    Jeff Schell - 09:57am Apr 17, 2003 Pacific (#2 of 2)
    this is one of my favorite error messages. Basically,
    you've chosen an incorrect setting in your DV settings.
    (Odds are you have DV settings). If so, read on:
    1. The DV format is very rigid. Meaning that if you
       make changes to the format, it cannot export as
       requested, because your movie file must match every
       single spec exactly.
    2. When Premiere goes to export a project, the DV codec
       says "Whoa. I can't do anything, because the settings
       don't match."
    3. Then Premiere comes back to you and has to report an
       error. (Don't shoot the messenger). Unfortunately,
       Premiere doesn't know why it wasn't able to export a
       movie. So it says to you, "Um... I can't make the movie.
       Um... maybe your hard drives are full?"
    It's a complete guess. And has nothing to do with your harddrives.
    Check your project settings and/or your export settings. Make
    sure you have chosen one of the "presets" that will specify
    every correct setting for you. Make sure it is one of the DV
    presets, if you are using DV video, or make sure it is one of
    the presets supplied by your capture card manufacturer (in this
    case I'm going to guess Pinnacle or Matrox.)
    To choose a preset, go to Project > Settings Viewer, and then
    click on the project settings column, and then click 'load' to
    load a correct preset. Do the same with export settings.

    I am learning the sequence object and found this weird thing happen. Can anyone explain to me why the next value jump to 21 after the error? I guess it may be related to the sequence cache which defaults to 20.

  • Why does this error occur in Digital Editions?

    I am working in a contact centre and have a customer who is giving the following complaint:
    ""    It’s still the same scenario.
    I just reinstalled ADE 3.0 and downloaded the first book again. It can’t be read like it’s supposed to.
    I enter the pub.
    Go one page down (Can see the page counter is counting up)
    The page doesn’t shift
    Exit the pub into library
    The page that couldn’t be shown before is now visible
    Go one page down
    The page doesn’t shift
    These epub’s have no value for us because we can't work like that.Therefor we want you to remove the DRM of these publications or cancel the trade. I will ofc verify all publications have been deleted from my computer if you won’t remove the DRM. ""
    Please help me understand the issue that is happening here, as it is the first time I have heard of this kind of failure. as for the DRM - I have no control over this, being only the publisher and not the DRM owner.
    Thanks community!
    Lee

    I simply referred him to 1.7.3
    It works perfectly for my customer.
    If anybody cares to explain why 3.0 does this - go right ahead - if not, I will just keep referring my customers to the older version :/

  • Why is this error happening?

    Hello,
    I've noticed that Flash Catalyst CS5.5 is much more bugged than the previous version of the program.
    We have been working for a long time now (more than 6 months) on an interface design for a website. We're a workgroup and a developer uses Builder to complete the project since I have no idea on programming.
    Problem comes when he started working on the library: Catalyst has significantly slowed down and has started crashing without any reports of "Out of Memory error".
    When crashing, it creates a txt called hs_err_pid3444. We think it's a report on the program errors and we are very disappointed with this. I hope you can (in any way) help us. Thanks in advance.
    hs_err_pid3444 contains this:

    Pl. Help Me

    hi
    alter database backup controlfile to trace;
    sql> shutdown immediate;
    cd /oracle/SID/saptrace/usertrace
    copy the last log into /oracle/SID. rename the log new_SID.sql. In this file you have to remove the line with the new datafile which is not needed. After this remove you can recreate the controlfile with the command
    sqlplus > @new_SID.sql;
    start the database without any problem.
    recover database;

  • Why does thie error message keep coming up when I try to get on line? I never had this problem until I updated this morning. TypeError: Components.classes[cid_siterank] is undefined

    I want this fixed or I will go elsewhere for my online service. This is frustrating and started after I updated firefox this morning. Tell me how to take the update off and go back to what works.
    Debi

    Can you also answer my first question which has been ignored. Why does firefox have to restart everytime I go anywhere even to check my mail. This all started after I updated firefox yesterday. How do I un-update. So sick of this restarting all day long.

  • Why does this error keep coming back every time I wish to download a rented movie? Err = -50.

    I keep getting an error after renting a movie. It's usually Err = -50. I tried deleting my downloads folder (as instructed) which has only worked a few times now. The error keeps coming back. Also, I have a movie stuck in my downloads. It won't go away.

    Hi there
    This often occurs if your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for viewing HD content in iTunes. You can find more information, including system requirements, in the article below.

  • Why does this error message appear when opening Ffox?

    ent returned failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED) [nsIFileInputStream.init]" nsresult: "0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://xdmdownloadmgr/content/overlay.js :: anonymous :: line 110" data: no]
    This just started to happen today! Ffox does not open until i click "OK" in box w/error message listed above. This box appears at top left of desktop. A 2-step process that is aggravating.

    yup happens on all of the Apple Discussion from my testing.
    I think it has to do with the WWDC Apple site redesign. Notice how there are the new grey buttons at the top? But when you go to the Login page you see the old purple and white (which I prefer, but that's another topic). I think that the login page(s?) haven't been updated and that's causing problems.
