Why is this new system such a pile of crap?

The new updates constantly crash my whole network. Blank keyboard on my phone. Computer freezes. My printer says it has a "broken pipe." Whatever the **** that means!

Several do have problems, I advise never doing automatic updates until you wait & see what problems arise.

The file you'll be looking for that has most of what you're looking for - messages, address book, etc. is the Entourage Database. The verison of Microsoft Office I run (on Lion) is Office 2008. By default the Entourage Database for this verison is at user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity/Database. That folder (Main Identitty) also has your rules, signatures, and such. You'll have to recover this file from whatever backup you have. If you have a different version of Entourage, the file location will be a little diffferent.

I do NOT like the new Firefox. I do alot of work back and forth with pages, with this new system it slows me down. How can I restore my older version

I work on Bay listing items, I have to go back and forth on sites. The new firefox dosn`t allow this. It has back arrows, but pop up asking request are very annoying, and take much more time, The older version would allow me to drop down to the previous pages..I want my old version back. This new version has a whole lotta extra unneeded crap that just takes L O N G E R to load.. It sucks..How can I restore the older version

I'm setting up a PC for someone else and I have to access my iCloud account from this new system

All I want to do is get into my iCloud account from a different system (pc) that is new so I can set it up. it is so locked up with "we need your name" that I hate buying anything with new OS. It;'s all in your bank account on your street in your bedroom. invasive.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

FCP4 is not supported as it is a Power PC app, but if you install FCS3 from the install discs, FCS3 (FCP7) should work.
Migrating the pro apps is not recommend as a best practice, but it is done.
60 GB of free space on your system drive is not a good idea, having about 20% free is usually about as little as recommended.
FCP-X uses a completely new editing paradigm, some like it, some don't. There is nothing similar about the way one edits with FCP-X and editing in Final Cut Pro, and your legacy projects that were created in Final Cut are not directly useable in FCP-X. There are third party apps that are available that will convert FCP legacy projects into FCP-X useable files, but there are limitations.

Premiere is much more similar to editing in FCP 7 and earlier than FCP-X is. You can even switch the keyboard short cuts in Premiere to the same shortcuts used in FCP.

It'll likely replace the printer drivers too since some older drivers may rely on Rosetta, which Lion eliminates. Along with new drivers, you may loose printing capabilities, as I did with a legacy Epson printer. Since you're in the Mac Pro forum, if you actually have a Mac Pro, it might be wise to install an additional hard disk and run the Lion upgrade on that. Try it out and see if you actually get an improvement. If not, you've still got Leopard to retreat to and an extra disk to back up on.

Now, you get to Spotlight by swiping down from the home screen, but do not start the swipe at the top of the screen. Start it in the middle somewhere.

Why is this new version not working on Youtube?

I clicked a video and then the screen is loading but it didn't start to play the clip, it showed a word "Upgrade" instead. So I clicked on it and it led me to this Adobe Flash player downloading page. I have finished installing the software as it told me to, but the videos are still not playing like they used to be and they kept show the "Upgrade" word as if I have never done the installation of this software! It is quite bugging me since I can no longer use Youtube to watch anything! If you know the way to fix this problem please tell me, I will be very appreciated.

Are you using OS X Tiger or Leopard?
Adding DNS server codes seems to get past this hurdle. The codes are usually necessary because your Internet Provider is using a code structure that's outdated for the latest browser.
Post back and I'll provide directions. Also, let me know if you are using Airport or Ethernet.

Getting problem with safari, requires activation code and no longer opens. Restarting my devices does not help. Thie newer system the more bugs it gives us. It is getting full of bugs like this...

It is possible, But not recommended. Better if you have solution like...
DEV-->QAS1-->QAS2-->PRD
But it is possible by using transport groups. There are lots of posts aleady regarding this.

Downloading existing i pod info on to a new system

I recently moved and no longer have a computer of my own. The people i moved in with already have i tunes and existing i pods. I set up my owm separate account so that we can all use our i pods. But is there anyway i can download the information that is already in my i pod to this new system, or do i have to start form scratch? Please help. Thank you!

this happened to meas well, all i did was sync it to my computer then let it resync to my ipad and i didnt have a problem after that. also have u tried to reboot ur ipod that has also worked for me as well. Hold down the home button and sleep/wake button ignore the turn off sign and wait for the apple logo to reappear. u wont loose and data as well.
