Having created an imovie, why does video footage disappear , how can it be retrieved, any tips to prevent in future and while on the topic , how can a Dvd disc be created to create a hard copy of all imovies?

then open Inspector - cmd+I
read
Video format (codec): nnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Frames per second: YY.yy
What does it read ?
(as .mov and others are no Video Codec but just a container (sort of folder) and can hold so many different Codecs)

Deleting original video from ipad after editing in imovie

Hi everyone. I am new to imovie on the ipad and I have just bought a GoPro Hero 2 to take some video.
My problem is that the video I am taking is in large clips. The camera is on for about 20 mins at a time and the useful footage is about 5 - 45 sec long each clip. I am planning to make about a 5 min movie but as you appreciate the amount of footage I take to get 5 mins of the good stuff is huge.
I want to know if I can make a project of multiple clips, that I want, but delete the original video which is 98% rubbish and clogging up the ipad? This process is going to take some time so I just want to get what I want ready for editing and delete the excess.
I tried to delete the original footage from iphoto after I edited out the stuff I wanted but then the project footage was lost.
I apologize if this has been answered or if this is a basic question but as I said this is all new to me. Any help would be appeciated.

1. Ask on the iMovie forum, that's the best place for iMovie help.
2. When you get there, ask about export settings. Sounds like that's where the issue is.

Why are videos in iphoto black thumbnails after import?

Hi,
I had to rebuild my entire iphoto library and start fresh but after i did that a lot of the small thumbnails are black when i view my photos in events.
I can correct that my making one photo in the event the key photo but all my videos in iphoto now have black thumbnails instead of the usual picture preview.
I'm upgrading them all just now to see if that helps but it's taking hours.
Any ideas anyone?

Now i just need to mess about in the finder and delete some things and then move some stuff about and that should be that!
Not sure what that is all about but you know that you must NEVER make any changes of any sort to the structure or con ten of the iPhoto library - there are no user serviceable parts in is - any user activity inside the iPhoto library will corrupt it and cause data loss

I have made dozens of movies with this card. Suddenlly the camera automatically shuts down video recording after just a few seconds. I've made dozens of movies with this card. Reformatted card. Still happens.

Sounds like a bad memory card. Have you tried another card?

Why is my "network lost" (no service) after apple reset my iPhone?

I went to have my iPhone 4 serviced for battery loss and a cracked back screen. They reset it and replaced the back screen. Now, in areas I used to have service I no longer have service. My daughter's iphone has 3 bars and I have NO SERVICE. Friends with iphones and Telus carrier had service while I did not. I'm with Bell but never had these problems before. I can't text or use phone...? Any ideas what to do or why this would happen?
As well...very strange but my camera when using flash photographs dull light over the subjects...looks like a fog without the subjects being visible..??? All of this after the rest.

Why doesnt 3G work on my ipad after the IOS 7 upgrade

I recently upgraded my Ipad through Itunes on my PC and since then I am unable to retrieve email and data using the 3 G network. I have reset all of my user settings and checked my cellular data settings. All seems okay but the device will not recognise the telstra network, even in Brisbane CBD. Can any one suggest a quick fix before I go and buy a competitors device.

I have since posting this performed a full restore of the Ipad using Itunes 11.1.1.11 but to no avail.
Have read other suggestions on the web but unforunately no response from Apple yet. It would seem all the reported benefits of IOS 7 are far out weighed by the loss of service. Has this stuff been tested prior to release??

What is the best resolution (1080, 720?) video and the best sound (PCM/AAC, bit, and kHz) that I can burn onto a DVD after creating in iMovie?

I have a Zoom HD Q3 video camera that also records good sound. An Apple Genius once told me that a DVD can only reproduce a certain level of quality in video and sound just like a CD can only produce a certain level of sound quality. For instance you can't burn true high definition video onto a DVD. You would need a Blue Ray Disc. But I forgot the specific data that the Genius shared with me. If my end goal is to make a DVD of my band performing, it doesn't make sense to record in a higher quality that I'm capable of reproducing on a DVD. Can I shoot 1080 or 720 (30 ore 60 fps)? My sound options are first PCM or AAC format, then PCM has a sample rate of 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz, and choice of 16 or 24 bit length. The AAC format has only one sample rate of 48 kHz but a bit rate choice ranging from 160, 192, 224, 256 or 320 kbps. Yikes. I'm not a sound engineer but I know this camera probably offers me a higher quality in both video and sound than the DVD can reproduce.
Of course, I have this same question with my Sony video camera. I can shoot AVCHD or MP4. iPhoto can't even import AVCHD so that question was answered for me but do I shoot MP4 12M 1440x1080 or do I shoot MP4 6M 12180x720? My end goal is always to burn a DVD. I don't understand what any of the above values mean in both paragraphs and don't necessarily need to know other than which to choose if making a DVD is my final goal. Thank you.

This is the forum for iOS (iPads and iPhones).
But I can answer your question; DVD scan only be SD.
Which in PAL land is 720 x 576 pixels (which can be stretched 16:9 anamorphic).
And is 720 x 480 in NTSC.
If you shoot in a higher quality then you will have a sharper image in the final DVD, but it will only be SD in the final encode.
iPhoto is a photo app, so no it can't import AVCHD; iMovie Mac can.

Entire video isn't showing up after download into imovie from flip cam

Hi there....
I'm a new user to imovie, so am having a little trouble here....
After I load a video from my flip cam, the program says it has downloaded the entire video (say 22') then when I go to put a project together only a short part (like 9 mins) is actually shown and available to edit. Where did the rest go? Are there settings I need to change in order to get access to the rest of the original video.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The execution plan clearly shows that Oracle thinks only one row is going to match that condition on the index ("Card=1"). Is that a true statement? If not, you should make sure your stats are accurate. If the data is highly skewed, you may need to put a histogram on that column.
Another possibility is that the index is on much slower disks than the table. Although, I can't imagine any range scan on an index that has only one matching value taking that long. How about doing a full trace (SET AUTOTRACE ON) and posting the logical and physical i/o information?
