Why is video so choppy in Firefox when Chrome on the same machine is fine
For a number of years now video and firefox are not 2 words I would use in the same sentence. I have had to install Chrome for 2 purposes, one to allow access to a corporate gmail account and the other reason is to view any type of web based video (youtube, BBC iPlayer etc).
I can't help the gmail reasoning and it keeps things sane when working from home but I resent having to switch from my otherwise favourite browser to watch video when I used to be able to do it in Firefox.
It's not machine specific either, the issue has been plagueing firefox for years through a number of reformats and clean installations, its just laggy. Adobe isnt going to own up to a faulty product and to be fair it all works fine in other browsers, when can we see it acknowledged and possible addressed?

In the next version we may be getting a newly supported codec. Check out version 33 to see if there is an improvement.

Certificate validation when server is the same machine as client
Hi guys i realize this is the most talked question about jsse, the validation of local certificates.
I found a 2001 o'reilly page where they explain what is jsse and gives a complete tutorial of it.
It comes with a sample secure http server and browser, and when i try to connect to the server with that browser it bombs out with the "couldn't find trusted certificate"
Having read some posts here and googled around i found out that this sometimes happens because the name on the signed certificate does not match the url accessed from the server.
So, if the server and client is on the same machine (127.0.0.1) and my machine name is FJL, can someone explain me how should i run the keytool?
This is what i have been using:
keytool -genkey -keystore certs -keyalg rsa -alias espectro -storepass serverkspw -keypass serverpw
The keytool then prompted me for information to put into the certificate. My answers are shown in bold.

So i use the keytool again to do what it is suggested:
keytool -export -keystore certs -alias espectro -file server.cer
then:
keytool -import -keystore jssecacerts -alias espectro -file server.cer
the jssecacerts file is located on the dir where i did the keytool thing, so i copy it to c:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\jre\lib\security
and finally i try to connect to the secure httpserver found on that url with the secure browser found there too and i get the "couldn't find trusted certificate"
could someone please explain me how to fix it? the article is kind of old and lists some properties which i haven't been able to find, along with some .jar (the article is dated before java 1.4 was available) and maybe i am doing something wrong.

Other details? Umm, I'm using a Mac. Never had problems before version 4.0. It happens on Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, GomTV, among other video sites. I loaded the same videos in Safari and they play fine.

How do I validate Photoshop licence when reloading onto the same machine?
After a hard disk crash, I am reloading Photoshop CS4 onto the same machine as before but the serial number is invalid. It's the same software on the same machine with the same serial number. Please does anyone know what I have to do to validate it?
You need to call or use the web form or chat to contact support on such matters. Nobody here can do anything for you, not even the employees - without a case number, nobody can track things and speed up matters.

How can I keep my bookmarks updated live in Firefox & Chrome on the same PC?
I use both Firefox & Chrome on my notebook. I have a huge number of bookmarks set up & up until now I have to export/import my bookmarks between Firefox & Chrome on the same notebook on a regular basis to ensure that any updates or changes I make when using Chrome or Firefox are updated. This is very time consuming & means that either one or the other (FF or Chr.) are never truly synchronised or up to date.
Is there an easy way to ensure that any changes I make when using FF or Chr. are updated on a "live" or real time basis?

Why doesn't the rotate gesture on my trackpad behave as it used to for switching between tabs when it works the same with all other programs besides Firefox?
I changed the about:config to make the rotate gesture move between tabs, and it worked great for well over a year. Now it behaves erratically as described here:

It used to be very controllable to move one tab over, now it is erratic and moves quickly and to unexpected tabs regardless of how slow I do the rotate gesture. This is the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome and I would like to continue to do so unless there is no fix to this.Just set the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.

A program White Smoke was loaded into this unit about 3 month ago and a popup to buy started appearing 1 week ago. I unistalled the program and i found virus that was removed.
The unit will not allow a system restore also.You do not need to start Firefox to disable the Java Quick Starter, you can do that via the Java Control Panel (Control Panel > Java > Advanced)
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Why exchange rate is not displayed correctly when I create the PO in SRM?

Yesterday I insert a new row at OB08 tx. at backend system (R/3) for exchange rate of May 17,2010, the value was 10.00. Then I run the BBP_GET_EXRATE program to replicate the info to SRM.
But when I created a purchase order (PO) the value was 12.24 for exchange rate (this value 12.24 is the value for the previous day May 16, 2010).
Today morning (May 18, 2010), I inserted another row at R/3 and replicated to SRM, the new value for May 18 was 11. I create another PO and the value was 10 for exchange rate (the value for yesterday).
But when the PO is transmitted to R/3, the exchange rate is the correct.
My question is: Why exchange rate is not displayed correctly when I create the PO in SRM? Exists an aspect of memory in SRM that it has to be refreshed? Why SRM is getting the exchange rate for yesterday? Is an issue for time zone?Hi Muthu,

I already discovered what is happening. At the time of being creating the purchase order (PO), it takes the exchange rate of the delivery date of the shopping cart (SC). But when the order is authorized and tries to transmit it to R/3, it takes the exchange rate of the date of creation of the PO.
Two checks of budget exist:
1.- When creating PO (exchange rate date of delivery date of the SC's item)
2.- When authorized and tries to transmit it to R/3 (exchange rate date of creation date of the PO)
If exchange rate of delivery date of the SC is lower than exchange rate date of creation of the PO, there are cases in which it is marking budget error.
Now my question is: It is a standard behavior? (to take different exchange rate) -
Every time I open a pdf file which includes a javascript, a dialogue box pops up. I have a question why 'Do not show this message again' is not working even I checked on the checkbox. It should block the dialogue next time when I open the same pdf file but not working. What is the matter and how can I deal with it?
I am trying it on Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2.1. Tried to fix Hex code, and also tried 'edit-preference-trust manager'. I focusing on Adobe registries but still couldn't fix the problem.

Just installed mountain Lion. Viewing a pdf sent to me using preview and some colors are appearing BLACK, however when I view the same PDF in Acrobat they are perfect and what they are suppose to be. WHY would PREVIEW showing a different color?
Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS). -
Videos won't play in Safari. Notice says, "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video." I have downloaded it, but no change. All videos play OK in Firefox, but I like the controls in Safari better and want to stay with it.
Try deleting Flash cookies.

Why are some jpg images scrambled when they appear in my screen saver? The same images look fine in Preview and Finder. Some images appear scrambled in the screen saver 'preview' window and the actual screen saver. Other jpg images look fine.
The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Why does my screen come up dark when I press the Camera icon? I can neither take pictures nor look at the photos I have saved.
Doulbe tab the home key to see the task bar. Touch and hold any of those icons until they jiggle, then delete them by touching the minus sign. Then reboot the pad by holding the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.
You either have another app open that is using the camera, or you just have too much stuff in memory. The reset process should clear it up. -
I am trying to get a good copy of my home video on DVD using IDVD. On editing the video all the viewing screens show the video perfectly in HD. When I burn the video to DVD all the end results are buzzy with squiggly lines. Any fix? Thanks?

There are several layers to this Q
A. There are no HD in DVD - DVD is as standard only SD-Video what ever tools used to produce it !
iDVD or DVD-Studio Pro or Roxio Toast™ - will only make SD-Video on DVD
B. DVD can be better or worse
• Using "Share to iDVD" is no good way - Better is Share to Media Browser and as Large (NOT HD as result will be worse)
• Using iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - are not tools to chose if highes quality is of importance - iMovie up to HD6 or FinalCut any version is far better as they send over all lines to iDVD and not only every second one.
• Using Right encoder quality depending on movie and Manu duration is very important
• Use of high quality brand of DVD - is important - I use Verbatim DVD-R
• Type of DVD - DVD-R plays on more DVD-Players (even old ones)
• Burn speed - I set it down to x4 - resulting in less burn errors - plays on more players
• I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up Mac OS hard disk as iDVD and Mac OS needs this and it can not be taked from other hard disks - has to be here.
• What You feed iDVD does matter
