Why is WINE so old?

The latest version is 0.9.60 while the latest one in the repositories is 0.9.56. I thought Arch was fairly bleeding edge, are all packages like this or only WINE?

I think a unsupported-extra repo will be in order. The idea is this new repo willl have PKGBUILD updated for packages in extra. There could/should be a server or 2 used for auto-building packages if not updated in a week. If a package is flag-out-of-date and has a PKGBUILD by the same name in unsupported-extra then the build server will build a new package for testing or unstable repo. The idea is only do the extra packages. The most/all core packages are to important to be put though a build server.
If a trusted user thinks the package is good it can put in the current extra repo. This sort of a bypass for getting around devs not having time to build his/her package every new release.
I think this could also help control the repeated packages in aur for extra.

What kind of photos are you talking about?
Ones in the iPod's Camera Roll album are included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes. Photos synced to the iPod or not and they are not in your iTunes library either. You have to back those up separately.
Also the iPod backup that iTunes makes is not included in your iTunes library. It location is listed here:

I take your point, however there are number of Apple employees who are involved in discussions on this website. Furthermore Apple is missing a big trick if they are not review their own forums (let alone other forums) to get feedback on their products.
Apple has also made a big deal about the partnerships that it sets up with other companies (Google and Yahoo being amongst them). I do not think it is fair to pass the blame on to Yahoo. It is Apple's responsibility to ensure that the functions of its own products work. If Yahoo is letting them down they should be in discussion with Yahoo to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Why is iCloud deleting old events in iCal, older than 2 months?

I'm using an iMac, MacBook & iPhone 4 to sync my calendars with iCloud. Running Lion, everything is up to date w/IOS 5. I initially set up iCloud to sync everything from my iMac to the cloud so all my old calendar items would be there (from several years past). It also synced to my other devices no problem. Now I only see 2 prior months worth of events on any of them! Everything before that is gone. I though my iPhone may have been the culprit but my iPhone was set to sync the past 3 months of events so I don't understand why it's only showing the past 2 months.
What I'd like to do is sync everything one time so it's there, but on future syncs have it only sync the most recent stuff (3 months). I don't want it searching the whole database from 3 years ago to find stuff to sync, just want it to leave that stuff there, on all my devices. Right now it keeps deleting the old stuff.
Any ideas what the source of my problem is?
If it's the iPhone setting to sync only the past 3 months, is there a way to keep old items in the calendar, but only "sync" the latest stuff? Or is my only option to select "sync all events"?

I think I solved it. My Macbook was set to delete items after 60 days. Grrrrr....

i know that the new iPods, once formatted for either a Mac or a PC, can only be connected to said OS.
but the old ones, used to be able to go back and forth any time. albeit there might have been 1 or 2 little hitches - but i remember overcoming them rather easily.
so i have a friend of mine who gave me his ipod and i set it all up on my mac. loaded it to the brim.
it is a 20 gig running OS 1.2.1 [and it looks just like my really old did - so i assume it's pretty old]
its model # is A1099 and it was made in 2005.
i am not sure what other way there is to figure out exactly which generation it is -- but maybe i provided enough info here for someone to properly identify it.
so what gives? when i plug it into a PC - it only gives me the option to system restore from scratch and wipe out all my hard work!
can someone gimme some ideas as to why it won't work on both os's?

iPods that are formatted for Windows can be used on both a Mac and a PC as is, while Mac formatted iPods require third-party software to be used in Windows; iTunes will not update the firmware of an iPod which isn't formatted for that platform outside of a restore. This does not apply to the iPod shuffle, which is always formatted for Windows, and the iPod touch, for which all disk access is handled by iTunes and cannot be used as a storage drive.

Why won't my old Pages docs open with the old Pages application?

I have a whole suite of complex documents created with the old Pages - which will not open with the old Pages application. Why not? The new app appears not to have things I need - like autoflow to complex linked boxes for example, or easy kerning.
Is there a workaround to so that I can access my documents without having to redo them? I don't want to use the new app. It's hideous, lumpen and unsophisticated. Why has a decent product been replaced with crap?

What happens when you try and open an old document with the "old Pages"?
Are you really saying that Pages '08/'09 won't open Pages 5 documents?
Because that is not a surprise, you need to Export the newer version documents back.

Anyone know why when I redownload old purchases every file is larger?

I have had to re download some past purchases from about 4 years ago and I noticed that the file sizes have gotten larger anywhere from 0.2 MB to 0.8 MB depending on the size of the file. And it's for every single song that I re download. I was wondering why this was? The bit rate seems to be the same but has the quality improved? Or is this just a result of newer versions of itunes and files additional features as relating to itunes? I have backed up my music and if quality is different, I would need to back it up again. The apps will always be tied to the old Apple ID and you will always have to sign into the old account to update or download them unless you buy or download new copies using the new ID.

Win 2000: old versions of ipod and itunes software

Is it safe to delete all the old versions of itunes and ipod software that remain after new versions are loaded in. I would uninstall using win uninstaller.

usually, previous versions of itunes and quicktime are removed by installations of higher versions of the software. (the earlier versions of ipod updaters remain installed though.)

Auto uploading within itunes offers airport 6.6.1, but it always fails. Any idea why ? Win 7 64

I have had my airport express for 4 years. I'm on Win 7 64-bit. For the last year the update function within itunes suggests airport 5.6.1, but every time I try it, it won't work. It says to do it manually within Airport/ Tools, but when I try that it says I need Win 7 SP1 or newer. My Win 7 is always up to date. There doesn't seem to be an SP1. I tried uninstalling Airport, thinking it needed a clean install, but nothing doing.
My airport express and itunes seem to be working more or less fine anyway (express does drop out occasionally, and itunes crashes occasionally), but the update suggestion is annoying. Any thoughts on why this is coming up, or how to get rid ? Thanks in advance - sorry if this has been asked before, but I have spent a few hours googling, and searching this forum.
