Why isn't Calendar showing me directions in OSX Mavericks?

I recently upgraded to Mavericks on my macbook pro. I wanted to use the new calendar feature that showed you the location and route to an appointment. However, when I add a location to the "add location" part of the calendar event, nothing happened, it simply displayed the address that I had entered. Any help?

I have the same problem. I tried using this feature this morning but nothing happened. Hopefully someone can help us out.

Entourage is not an email account. It is a mail client that gives you access to your email accounts. You need to determine the email account in Entourage and then configure your iPhone to use those details. See Account Settings under the Entourage menu in Entourage.
If you want access to the contacts and calendar in Entourage you need to enable SyncServices in Entourage (in Preferences). This will then sync contacts and calendars to the Mac OS X Address Book and iCal applications, which can then sync to your iPhone.

Apple promotes the rental service as being able to allow viewers to watch, start/stop, content on all account related iOS devices.

After I upgraded to Mavericks, Quicktime has had to convert MPEG-4 videos to .mov.... Why? Is there a way to stop that or to change the settings?
Your question requires more information. What does MPEG-4 mean to you? What file container and which compression formats are you referring to here? Is the MPEG-4 content "standard" or proprietary. Basically, depending on the file container and the specific content, QT X v10.3 may initiate a conversion ever where the individual data tracks are fully QT compatible. Proprietary compression formats will definitely do this. In some cases, the audio or video in one source container may simply be passed through to the MOV file while in another source container, QT X v10.3 forces a conversion of that same data track. In short, there are too many variables at this point to properly answer your question or attempt to duplicate your workflow.

It sounds like you've installed Mavericks. You can confirm this by clicking on the Apple located at the top left of the screen and choosing "About This Mac" from the menu. You should see a window appear with the text "Version 10.9.1" near the middle.
If it says "Version 10.9.1", then you've installed Mavericks. It still says "Download" in the App Store because you can still download the operating system after installing it. This is useful if you want to download it for a friend, or create a USB boot drive.

Please why doesn't some programs run on the osx mavericks the way it ran on the osx mountain lion, for example , the wizard 101 installer keeps freezing on maverick. Help me !!!

Some apps require updating when a new operating system comes out. Check with the developers of the apps you're having problems with and see if they have an update or workaround.

Why does my calendar show in the cloud (and my phone and iPad) but not appear on my mac?

I have been using calendar on all my devices and synching automatically across platforms. About a week ago, all my calendars disappeared from my mac, but remain in place on all my mobile devices and in the cloud. I have tried checking the calendar box under preferences to allow my icloud calendar to be reloaded onto my mac, but this doesn't work, and I am just left with the empty "home" and "work" calendars on my mac.

Sign out of iCloud (on your Mac) take the option to delete local data (it will be replaced when you sign in again)
Reboot and sign back in.

Why does a calendar show in Reminders?

My wife has a calendar that she shares called "Family".
I noticed that this calendar appears on my iPhone 4s a a list called "Family" in my Reminders.
Nayone else experiencing this and if I deleted it from my Reminders, what will happen to all the events?

There is only object code with a classid for IE and no code for Firefox. Firefox ignores code with a classid.
