Just came across this thread and thought I’d reply, even though it was posted a while ago.
To the initial question –
The main answer to why Director is not in CC is that it is not within the key business objectives of Adobe.
Adobe bought Macromedia as they wanted Flash, which was at its prime. At that Director, Director was already suffering from neglect. Flash was brought into the Creative Suite as it was considered a standard for the web. Flash has lost its gloss since it was not supported on iOS and the rise of HTML5, which has consumed a lot of the Flash market. Now that Flash is in decline, there may be a point where it falls out of the CC.
Points why Director will not be part of the Creative Cloud
It does not have a big enough market to make it important to Adobe.
Director is lagging behind development of the rest of the CC products. To be part of CC, there needs to be some functional requirements like – it can integrate seamlessly with other products, fits into a common strategic market. Director is not resourced enough to ever get there.
As CodeJingle, Director’s cost is just a continuation of the past. At one point, Director was the flagship product and its price was seen as value for money based on the commercial return.
Director is a great product and had a lot of potential for the new directions technology has evolved. However, it now needs something remarkable to happen to bring it to the level to be included in Adobe’s main family of products in CC.

I'm a long-time Adobe user (started working w/Photoshop in the 90's) who hasn't upgraded his personal software in a while. Former employers had the application licensed at work, and Adobe's pricing on upgrades/suites just made it difficult and ultimately impossible for me to keep up. Now we're here in 2010 and hooray I'm no longer working for the man, but that also means I'm facing paying for the full version on CS5. And of course, it's cheaper to buy a suite of apps than it is to just get the two key apps I'll need, but that's a separate discussion.
The question I've got, as the subject says, is why isn't Lightroom included? From everything I've gathered looking at the Adobe site, it looks like Lightroom is a great companion tool to Photoshop. I had hoped it would be included in the Production Premium suite (the one I need in order to get Photoshop & After Effects), but looking through the others (including the 'Master' suite) it appears to have been omitted completely.
Why is that? Is the program being phased out? Is it not considered to be a professional creative tool? I wish there was a way to BYO suite, since even the one that best suits my needs comes with over a thousand dollars worth of software I have no use for.

First of all, to kill a potential rumor, Photoshop Lightroom is absolutely not being phased out in any way!!!
Generally speaking, within Adobe, Lightroom is considered more of a professional photographer's tool than a tool for the so-called creative professional and thus not something that would be used in addition to use of a suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat, for example. Typically, a photographer would do a certain amount of processing with Lightroom and pass the images off to those creative professional types who might further tweek or manipulate the images for publication either in print or on the web.
Ideally, it would be nice to have a BYO suite but realistically it would be a nightmare to market and support such a product given issues of product installation, update, activation, etc.

Why isn't Captivate included in CC license

I am using my CC license for over a year, so my discount as new user has gone away. I am an elearning professional and would like to know why Captivate is not included in the CC license while other software as After effects or Premiere are?
Is there any plan to include it?

Adobe has addressed this differently. As of version 9.0.115,
there's the
Flash
player cache. If you
set
your application up for it, the Flex libraries will be cached
by the player. Unlike the browser cache, only Adobe components will
be cached, so presumably they won't get pushed out of the cache as
easily, or perhaps ever.
I think this is a better solution, for a number of reasons.
First, there are many versions of the Flex API, but not
everyone will need all versions. Why make them download more
versions than needed to run the programs they actually use?
Second, if the Flex API distribution is tied to the Flash
version, doesn't that put you into a trap where users refusing to
upgrade their Flash players won't be able to run newer Flex apps
that would otherwise work with their old Flash runtime?
Third, if the Flash player is allowed to download a new
version of the Flex API to get around #2, doesn't that pretty much
equal the current functionality?

Why isn't Adobe Captivate part of the CC subscription? Can it be added to the suite?

I Recently purchased a subscription for CC, and honestly I just found out about Captivate. This is what I really need. Why isn't it includes with the subscription? It seems odd not to include it.

This is my first iPhone, and I find it extremely messy that my camera roll has so many pictures from everywhere:
1- Pcitrues taken by camera
2- Pictures saved through Safari
3- Screenshots
4- and maybe some pictures saved through other Apps.
Why isn't there a way that all camera pictures can go into an album which no other app can use (including iOS' built-in apps such as Safari).
In Android for example, it was much easier...

It is just designed to use the computers ability to take off pictures as if it were a digital camera.
While we are all users here and cannot explain why they chose this route, my assumption is that many people already organize photos via some 3rd party program (Mac users use iPhone, many Windows users use Picasa etc), so they had the Camera Roll act as a digital camera when plugged in to allow users to maintain the same process of getting pictures and organizing that they are already use to using. If one things about it, it was a nice thing they did and not force users to use iTunes to get pics, then have to go to their other program and have to manually organize.

Why isn't webservices.xml covered in tutorial or here

According to JSR 109, Section 7.1.1:
The webservices.xml deployment descriptor file defines the set of Web services that are to be deployed in a Web Services for J2EE enabled container.
And yet, no mention of this file appears in the JAX-RPC secton of the tutorial, and only two references to the file appear in a search of this forum. The only reference to thie file in the 2004Q4 Developers Guide on docs.sun.com is not providing any information about its use in 2004Q4 J2EE.
Why isn't it part of the tutorial content?
What takes its place?
If I provide one, will Sun's J2EE container honor it?

I saw jaxrpc-ri.xml in the JWSDP sample war. wsdeploy
in 2004Q04 needs it too. Running wsdeploy on an input
war file that does not include 'jaxrpc-ri.xml' results
in this error for me:

You can create a WAR file using deploytool, rather than wscompile/wsdeploy, that a) doesn't contain jaxrpc-ri.xml, b) does contain webservices.xml, and c) deploys and runs on 2004Q4.
The J2EE platform specifications require 2004Q4 to honor webservices.xml. JWSDP is not a J2EE server, and instead uses its own deployment descriptor. I agree with you that this is confusing, and I hope it will be addressed in future releases of the JWSDP and/or Application Server.

Mozilla, like many other software companies, thoroughly test their software before releasing it to the public and I'm sure that no problem you are having is intentional.
I do not work for Mozilla but I do have experience of releasing software for public usage.
Firefox has no way of knowing what other software is already on your computer and with millions of combinations it isn't always possible to test for every scenario.
You can go back to the old version of Firefox but that won't always solve your problem.

I can use Cloud to transfer/download music, iBooks, videos and apps... but not audiobooks... I don't understand why it isn't included? I'm stretched between three computers and I don't always purchase the audiobook from the same one, but I can't upload it to my phone/iPod except through one computer. If Cloud is supposed to fix that issue, why doesn't it include audiobooks?

1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

When you hooked up to your PC did they attempt to import? Had you imported them previously and not deleted when the import was complete?
If you have to delete them directly on your device, you need to press the select button and just keep selecting until you have all of them selected, then put them in the trash.
You do not need to select one then trash it, then select another then trash it. You can select as many as you like before clicking on the trash icon.
