Why isn't e-mail author being displayed? It was a few days ago. In view/columns author is gray, unavailable. How do I get author do be displayed in inbox again? Thanks.

From what I've read, the Podcast App needs some refinement before it can be considered as a suitable replacement for the Podcast section within the Music App. As you have discovered, deleting the App allows you to revert back to the old method.
I'll save everyone the trouble of "reading between the lines" here; I don't use the Podcast App, but from what I've read, it's rubbish!

Why are all my Widescreen ratio being displayed in 4:3?

Hi all,
I just bought my Apple TV and All was well until I synced my photos. All my photos have the dimension of 2592x1944 (jpegs), they're all landscape.
After suncing them to Apple TV, I go to the "Photos" menu and View these photos, they show up with black bars on both left and right side of them, much the same as SD TV shows.
The weird part is that when I turn on "Ken Burns" effect the photos fill the whole screen. ***!
I hope I'm not doing something, because why would I want to see my HD (or Widescreen) photos in a 4:3 ratio? Didn't Steve Jobs in the Keynote say that we want to see out photos in HD on our Widescreen TVs and Apple TV will do that for us?
Can anyone help with this?

I suspect that your photos are being displayed in 4:3 ratio because 2592x1944 is 4:3 ratio.

Why isn't my podcast author value being updated in the iTunes store

I have three podcast feeds and recently updated the value in the author tag from "The MetalsPeakers" to "MetalsPeak.com". For some reason, that update is only showing up for one of the three feeds when I look them up in the iTunes store.
Here are the three feeds:

The first two still show "The MetalsPeakers" but the last one shows "MetalsPeak.com". I'm assuming this is coming from the author tag, but could be wrong. At any rate, I don't have "The MetalsPeakers" in any of these feeds anymore so does that mean it was cahced or something in the store? Is there someway to reset it?

I was able to find it by searching, though it was some way down the results and not on the initial results page: you are competing with a lot of similar podcasts: the way to get to the top is to have a more unique title.

Why isn't junk mail going into its folder

I get a lot of spam and a few weeks ago, it went into my junk folder which pulled if off my iphone and ipad. Now the junk mail just stays in the inbox.
What is causing that or this?

Have you tried a different USB cable? Do you have a different USB port on your Mac you can try? If not, then using a clean, soft toothbrush, gently clean the USB port on the Mac and then try again. Also, make sure your cable is working - use a different one if you have one.
One last thing - have you tried rebooting your Mac?

Aah... why isn't my Audigy 2 being detected?!

After literally 3 hours of internet searching, as well as further time spent trawling through these excellent forums, I'm still at a loss :S
I've finally decided that I'm fed up of gentoo's ridiculous compile times, and slackware's bloated nature also gets my goat, so I'm trying to migrate to arch. So far I've been very impressed; pacman seems to have all the features that portage boasts, and the base-installation iso provides the slimline foundation I long for.
However, I can't for the life of me get my Audigy 2 value to work, and I can't see why...
hwd -id shows the card ok:

I didnt realise I should use abs to build the kernel... I just did it from /usr/src/linux, remaking .config etc. I'll try doing it through abs though, and apply that patch, and see what happens. I'll post to say whether or not it's worked. Thanks for the link ;o)

Why isn't yahoo mail sign in page not loading from any browsers on desktop?

I am experiencing this problem from yesterday where the page stops loading when I click on yahoo mail. It stops right at the sign in page with a blank page, thus I am unable to access yahoo mail. I have tried different browsers and even different users, after clearing cache, cookies and internet history. I did notice I am able to access yahoo mail without any trouble from a different pc altogether and from a mobile device. I assumed the problem would be fixed overnight but it's still not working. I have never experienced this problem before. Please help. Thank you.

Newbie user - Why isn't my storage card being used?

Hi, I have had my blackberry for about 1 month. As I find/load applications, I watch the available MB start dropping and the manual says you should keep it at 400mb available. I have 15 GB of space on my inserted card, but how does that get accessed? Why don't the applications load to that location? Any help is appreciated.
Oh, and to make it more interesting, I have a Mac 10.4 so there is no desktop involved.

Welcome to the forums.
The media card is only used to store media (ringtones, pictures, mp3's, videos) You are not able to install applications to the media card. You can increase your Application memory by deleting unused applications and delete old emails/Calendar appointments.

Why isn't Pages updated for Retina Display?

I have the 15" Retina Macbook Pro, just downloaded Pages and was disappointed to see pixellated text/graphics

I am running a slow simple query on Oracle database server 11.2.0.1 that is not using an xmlindex. Instead, a full table scan against the eval binary xml table occurs. Here is the query:

1. In the developemnt environment, no xml source records for defid '52657' or '52599' are being displayed - just an empty output set occurs; in spite of these values being present and stored in the source xml.
This really has me stumped, as can query the eval table to see the actual xml defid vaues '52657' and '52599' exist. Something appears off with the query - which didn't return records even before the corrresponding xml index was created.
2. The query still performs slowly, in spite of using the xmlindex. The execution plan shows a full table scan of eval occurring whether or not a HASH JOIN or MERGE JOIN (gets used in place of the HASH JOIN when the NO_USE_HASH(eval) int is used.
3. Single column 2ndary indexes created respectively for eval_catt and defid are not used in the execution plan - which may be expected upon further consideration.
In the process of running stats at this moment, to see if performance improves....
At this point, really after why item '1.' is occurring?
