Why isn't LR3 working nicely with iViewMediaPro like LR2 did?

Hey guys and girls,
The situation is as follows;
- Importing RAW files into LR
- Building a catalogue in iViewMediaPro for keywording on a different computer.
When my wife needs some photo's for her articles, she can browse in her iViewMediaPro catalogue and select some images, make captions and adapt keywords. She then gives me the catalogue. When I open the catalogue in my iViewMediaPro I can right click on the images and select "Open with" LR2. LightRoom would instantly a pop-up a window saying:
I would click the "Show in Library" button and the images would be put in a different catalog set in LR2:
This is perfect and very swift, as nothing has to be imported - a five second job.
Now in LR3, this changed. Or, let's say I haven't found an nice way.
When I right click on images in iViewMediaPro and select "Open with" LR3. The import dialogue in LR3 shows up and starts to load all the images allready in the catalog, which, if you have a large catalog, can take some time. Then all these images are greyed out, because they are allready imported. As far as I know [and please show me if I am wrong] there is no way of isolating some images in this way.
I have found a way around this, but it isn't as quick, nor intuitive.
- in iViewMediaPro, I export a text file with the filenames of the images I want to isolate.
- Open that file in texteditor,
- Replace the qoutes around the filenames by commas.
- I then copy this list of filenames into the Library filter of LR3:
This is how I isolate them.
Now my question, is there a better and quicker way?

Because in LR3 the import dialog has been changed a lot. The functionality that you were essentially mis-using is now gone.
Take a look at this: http://www.beardsworth.co.uk/lightroom/iview/. Maybe you find something useful for your workflow there.
This just show how organizing your images with two different DAM programs is no fun.

They are absolutely now paired after doing all you said, as I reset both the Bose Link and the Iphone. Now we have a pair, but no sound on the speaker or the iphone when they are connected. I know they are connected b/c the iphone says they are in the blue tooth setting AND the Bose has a solid blue tooth light on.
Now what? This is beyond frustrating and only happened when I UPDATED ios!

Instead of joining it from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed. Before I went through network diagnostics and all of that stuff in system preferences, and then I tried the "Join Other Network" method, and now it works like a dream.

The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

The verification email is not sent immediately so be patient and wait a while.

Why isn't there a chart with ios, mac os and itunes compatibily?

Since there are so many people who have been screwed over by upgrading to a newer ios without knowing that they would need a different version of iTunes that can only work with a newer Mac os, but their computer cannot run that os, so now they are out of luck, WHY isn't there a chart somewhere that shows the compatibility between ios, itunes, Mac os and even Mac computer versions? The info is available if you search for it separately (lots of searches), but I can't find it all in one place. For example, ios7 works only with itunes 11.1 and up on 10.6.8 and up on an intel Mac. That is really useful for people who want to make sure their whole infrastructure is compatible before they upgrade. Does anyone know if something like this exists anywhere? Thanks.

2) At some stage developers decide it isn't worth the expense of supporting older technology. If I had my way you could still connect iOS7 to OS9, but Apple has decided to make the limit OS 10.6.8 Nor do I like that I can't get spare parts for my 33 year old car...

If you are not going to always be running the newest technology always read software requirements before doing any upgrades. I run a 12 year old computer and yes, I see there are things I can't run (many), but I also then avoid buying any incompatible new technology. The system requirements are printed on the side of the box (albeit in 9 point medium gray font on light gray box ) Do not expect the Apple Store people to check with you about your computer first. I bet half of them were still in grade school when my computer was produced and none of them could possibly imagine anybody would run anything older than 6 years (probably not even that, more like 4).
Why not buy Snow Leopard? Of course you do not say what model computer you are using, but if you can run Snow Leopard on your computer there's no advantage to staying with Leopard. Snow Leopard costs $20 which is minimal compared to you now no longer being able to sync your phone.

Why Isn't OpenX Working On My Flex Website When Using a PC?

I'm using OpenX to serve ads. It serves ads when I use my Mac with Safari or Firefox. But, it doesn't work when I checked my site on two PCs both running Windows XP with IE and Firefox. I'm getting error #1090, which is "XML parser Failure: element is malformed" only on the PCs, not on the Mac. In order to use OpenX, the ads have to be properly formatted. I've got a catch statement sending the error. Does anyone know why it doesn't work on PCs? Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? I'm pretty desperate. I've also posted this question on OpenX's forum, but not too many people use Flex over there.

Why isn't my iMac compatible with airplay mirroring with the new Mountain Lion upgrade?

Yesterday, I upgraded to the newly released Max OS X Mountain Lion, mainly because I was very interested in the airplay mirroring function that Mountain Lion brings to the table. To my dismay, however, I found that AirPlay is not available on my device due to the fact that my iMac is from mid/late 2010 and that function only works on mid-2011 and newer.
Why is it that my 21.5" iMac running a core i3 processor is not deemed worthy enough to have this function. I honestly feel a bit robbed that it is not included in my $19.99. Why am I paying the same price as someone else who is getting that key feature.
I love Apple to death. I've had many of their products, but I really feel as though this is unfair, and that I have been mislead.

I don't know why it does not work - assuming it has something to do with firmware, EFI, or similar; however, if you want Apple to hear you, consider filing feedback here since these are strictly user to user forums:

I have a first gen iPad and can find no way to clip (simple) a video. iMovie can't run, okay. So why isn't there even the usual, simple edit tool in the photo interface? It's ridiculous ... If the ultimate answer is either jailbreak or upgrade, then why buy Apple going forward?

If you are referring to online gaming, then PS3 like all non-apple devices uses upnp to open ports.
Apple uses NAT-PMP to open ports.. East and West.. never the twain shall meet.
If it is internal wireless issues.. that is different.. airport should be just like any other wireless router.

If you recently turned on photo stream on the mac and iphone, then (on the iphone) only new photos are included in photo stream, old ones are not.
But syncing to your mac (if the photos originate from the iphone) is critical. That's how you store photos (they can easily disappear on the iphone due to many "issues" that can occur, and relying on an icloud backup is not safe - to many users have lost some/all their photos when doing a restore.
So be sure to begin by doing a sync to the mac using itunes/iphoto with a USB cable.

Do you mean alarms? Because the time is displayed at the top of the screen while in the notification center. If you mean alarms, it's probably because they expect people to stop using the alarm feature for anything other than waking them up in the morning, which probably doesn't need to be displayed in the notification center since it must be dismissed or snoozed immediately. Now that Reminders is a feature, it's much easier to use that as you had used the alarm clock before. You can be 'reminded' at a certain date & time without having to use clocks.
Is that what you were talking about or am I off the mark?

Trying to set up an external drive to mount automatically at boot.

Tutorials I've found seem to indicate this should work but I'm not having any luck. The diskutil mount command works fine, but I'm trying to get this automated without writing my own LaunchAgent to run some shell script. My options are rw,noauto because right now I'm just experimenting and I'm not really worried about mounting at boot, this isn't even the real disk i'll end up using.

I read that thread but, maybe I'm missing something, I didn't see an actual solution in the thread. That being said, technically the man pages don't really claim mount actually supports UUID, only fstab. I suppose diskutil probably reads it for a reference as well since mounting via diskutil does indeed work. Unless someone comes up with a way to do with with mount I plan on just using diskutil in a LaunchAgent and making sure the correct settings are on to make sure the filesystem stays mounted without users logging in.
