Why isn't photoshop installing but everthing else is ?

When i try to install Photoshop it says "You are running an operating system that Photoshop no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements for a full list of supported platforms. What does this mean ? What can i do to fix this ?

Have you installed service pack 1?
Otherwise your system may be mis-identifying the OS version to the installer.

Try resetting Photoshop Preferences.   Use your Photoshop start icon to launch Photoshop and immediately press and hole Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option keys   Photoshop should Prompt you with Do you want your Preferences deleted. Reply yes.   Photoshop should then delete your user ID preferences and then create a default set of preferences for your ID and start successfully.

  • Why becomes the *.desktop installed but the *.xpm not in my PKGBUILD?

Why is the desktop file installed but the xpm not? Both files ly in the same directory /var/abs/local/vidalia and have the same permission. You can also see in the pacman -U output that the desktop is installed but not the xpm file!

Well, it seems a desktop file is being installed by the "make install" part so you do not need to do it manually.
    For the icon
    install -Dm644 vidalia.xpm $srcdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm
you want to install to $pkgdir, not $srcdir.
I would also remove the "cd .." prior to the install and just do the following
    install -Dm644 $srcdir/vidalia.xpm $pkgdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm

  • Photoshop installed but not recongnized by Computer, updates fail

    Hello,
I had installed CS6 Photoshop on my Windows 7 PC.  Something happened where I see all the files and reference to Photoshop on the hard drive in the program files but I do not see an app icon to open the program.  I also do not see the program listed in Control Panel so I can unistall it.
The Adobe App Manager seems to also recongnize it as installed.  It offers me updates.  When I update I get the following error message "U44M1P7 Error log file location C:\program files (x86)\ Common files\ Adobe installers
What do I need to do to fix this?  If the app manager says it is installed but my computer will not recognize it to uninstall it what is my recourse?
    Thanks.
    Shannon

    Hi Shannon,
You might try downloading and installing the Photoshop CS6 trial.

  • Why isn't Photoshop listed as "Install" rather than "Try"?

I had to uninstall Photoshop CC to try to fix a conflict with the latest Lightroom update, but when I opened my Adobe Creative Cloud panel to reinstall PS, the download option was labeled as Try rather than Install, as if I had to download a trial version. (Bridge was properly labeled Install and I successfully reinstalled it.)

try logging out of creative cloud and back in From preferences in the gear icon. The creative cloud app is quite flaky in my experience and often doesn't show what you have a license to install. Logging off and back in usually fixes it for me. If not quitting the app and restarting it and logging off and back in does the trick.

  • Why isn't Photoshop Elements showing up in my upgrades list?

With the new version of Photoshop Elements in the store, I checked my available updates but there isn't an update listed. When I look at the purchased list and click on the application to go to its page, it just responds "Your request could not be completed". What gives?

Please Quit your Adobe Application Manager and re-launch it. It will update itself to the new Creative Cloud application and then you will see the CC apps for download. Install the all new CC apps and check if that works fine.
Let us know in case any issues.

  • Why isn't photoshop working in my membership? It keeps telling me that i have to buy it,

Yesterday i has decided to take a membership on adobe cc, with the following programs, lightroom and ps.
The photoshop trial is already past, that's what my cc account says, so i have to buy it. The lighroom version is now on a trial.
How can i get my paid version without buying it again? The site is not telling me what i have to do.
Please help me, but use simple words, because my english isn't that good.
    Thank you very much

But i saw the price, i hope that is a misunderstanding? Tax is much higher than the price i must pay for using lightroom and photoshop?

  • Why isn't Photoshop Elements 8.0's Editor not working, or opening?

I got Photoshop Elements 8.0 with my drawing tablet, and has been working well until I got a new laptop. My laptop is a Windows 8.0 and my Photoshop window opens fine, but when I click Editor, it doesn't open. But the organizer does? Please help, ASAP.Photoshop Elements

    Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply. Somehow, never got to see this thread before.
    So, let us begin.
There are multiple points I would like to add here...
1.In the command line mentioned below, I think you should have a space between Start and /wait.
    Start/wait C:\"Adobe Photoshop Elements 9"\Setup.exe /UL1036 /V"SERIALNUMBER=1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111"
    2. The name of the override file should be application.xml.override with no extension in the end. You mentioned it as application.oxml.override, may be thats just a typo.
    3. In the override file, you have specified both EULADelay as 0 and EULA suppress, EULADelay as 0 is used to show the EULA to the end users, while EULA suppress is used to suppress the EULA. So, you should just have one of these entries depending on what you want to achieve..
    4. One you use the correct silent install command as mentioned above, you should NOT edit the Setup.ini file to change the EnableLangDlg, Default, Commandline2,  SERIALNUMBER= keys of the override as that will be automatically be taken care of the command line to install PSE in french locale based on the UL key. So, I recommend changing them back to the original values.
    5. Please please please....DO NOT EDIT the .msi file directly through Orca because once you have edited it, you are on your own and there wouldnt be anything we can do from here to support your issue further.
So, based on these comments, can you please try to install PSE again in silent mode and see if it works fine now??
Yeah, in case there is a broken installation (just editor) already present on your machine, then please remove it by following the below article.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/859/cpsid_85966.html
Last, seems like you are using a volume licensing serial number to deploy PSE on multiple machines, so for the enterprise customers, there is a dedicated support team, please contact them for getting clear directions and for troubleshooting steps. They should be help you further..
    Best,
    Ankush

  • Why isn't Photoshop fully optimized for the Mac Pro (Late 2013), and when will this happen?

On the new Mac Pro (late 2013):
Currently, Photoshop CC 2014 seems to lag behind iMacs and Macbook Pros (even older ones) for some tasks.
I assume that this issue is related to either multi-core processing but seems more likely to be a problem with the ATI GPUs not being optimized as the Nvidia GPUs are.
Why is this the case, and when will this be addressed?
Any feedback from Adobe official would be appreciated.
    Thanks

That's what it suggests to you, in the limited scope of your vision and knowledge, and without your having provided detailed specs about your hardware.
Due to the current unavailability of clairvoyants and mind-readers in the forum, we respectfully request you supply sensible, complete details.
We don't even know what your specific issues are, and for all we know you may be running the pathetic, buggy Yosemite OS—which Apple is giving away for free.
In this case, you have been enormously fortunate in that you received a reply from none other than Gµrµ Chris Cox, a top Adobe engineer who has been writing Photoshop code since the last millennium.
It's hight time you drop the attitude and avoid further embarrassing yourself in a public forum.  Just my two cents.

  • Why, after successful Photoshop install, why won't Dreamweaver & others install?

On a PC with Vista 32 Home Premium:
Photoshop downloaded and installed OK--but then Dreamweaver installation never goes past about 20% of the installation.
I've tried 6 times: closing & re-opening Adobe Application Manager, re-downloading, using Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, trying to install Trial version, etc.
Maybe these Log entries make sense to someone:
The log is show's these 3 lines repeating over & over endlessly (for over an hour yesterday).
    5/12/2012 20:49:57.344 [INFO] DLM.ApplicationFacade sendNotification = handleNativeDataSignal, type = null
    5/12/2012 20:49:57.345 [INFO] DLM.ApplicationFacade sendNotification = handleNativeDataForCCMDownloadWorkflowSignal, type = null
    5/12/2012 20:49:57.346 [INFO] DLM.ApplicationFacade sendNotification = installProgressSignal, type = null
Prior to that code repetitions, there are other repitions in the log--preceded by:
5/12/2012 19:47:35 [INFO] Utilities - File does not exist
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Any suggestions about what I should try next to get Dreamweaver to install? How long should the installation take--that is, how long should I wait before concluding that the installation is stuck again?

    SOLVED.
I discovered that in Program Files/Adobe there was an old "Adobe Help" folder from some previous Adobe Trial install, never activated. All the folder contents had a 2011 date--so that must have have stalled the new installation. I deleted it, and Voila!
I can't delete the original posting.

  • Why isn't Photoshop CC showing up in my Application Manager?

I have Photoshop CS6 installed on my computer and have downloaded all updates, but there is not an option to download Photoshop CC.  Is there something I am missing?  I was under the impression that I could run both CS6 and CC on my computer.  I would rather not delete CS6 unless I have to in order to download CC.
It is 10:17pm cst on the 17th, so I assume that CC is out now.  It appears that others are able to download it, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  The only Photoshop application that shows up in AAM is CS6 (up to date).
    Help?

Please Quit your Adobe Application Manager and re-launch it. It will update itself to the new Creative Cloud application and then you will see the CC apps for download. Install the all new CC apps and check if that works fine.

  • Why isn't facetime installed?

Why can't I find facetime on one of my iMacs?  It's about 1.5 years old.  (Snow Leopard)
It looks like it costs .99 for downloading it, but on one of my SL iMacs (new) it's already installed for free....
I remember reading something about this, (free for some, pay for others) but can't find it now...
Also, I see in the promo page for FaceTIme, that it's only available for FaceTime enabled webcams.... how can I tell if my iMac has a facetime enabled iSight? (How can I tell the specs on my iSights)

    Csound1 wrote:
It is included with Lion but not Snow Leopard so if your new iMac came with Lion that's why it is there and not there on your 1.5 year old iMac.

  • Why isn't FlashPlayer installing correctly?

I'm using version 3.6.15 of Firefox. I updated FlashPlayer as Firefox suggested to version 10.2.152.32. I've downloaded and installed the new version of FlashPlayer (meaning I saved the file, opened it, clicked run, accepted the user agreement, and it installed and said done). But it isn't being added on to Firefox and I still can't view flash stuff in Firefox. I searched Firefox help but have not found a solution. Any suggestions? I don't want to start using IE, but it seems I may have to. : (

Try to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as... > Administrator).
You can also check to see if you can find the Flash plugin file NPSWF32.DLL and copy the file to the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
Copy the Flash plugin file (NPSWF32.DLL) to the plugins folder within the Firefox program folder.
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\
You can find the Flash plugin files here after you have run the Flash installer:
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\

  • Creative Cloud says new Photoshop installed but old version remains

Today, I attempted to update Photoshop CC (2014) and Bridge to new versions.
The installation appeared to complete and Creative Cloud said the apps are up to date, but they remain the previous versions.
What can I do to rectify this?

Well, I must have been mistaken because it says there is no newer version -- and yet when I updated to the new Lightroom CC this evening the Creative Cloud App said there were also updates to Photoshop CC 2014 and to Bridge. And then it said it installed these.
And my applications folder shows changes to the contents of the Photoshop and Bridge folders at the time I did the updates.
However the apps themselves remain the same with Photoshop still being 2014.2.2.
I apparently leapt to the wrong conclusion.
Thanks very much for your help.
