Why isn't there an override for the following?

Websites prohibit password saving
Some websites do not allow for passwords to be saved for security reasons. If you have followed the steps above, but are still not prompted to save a password when logging into a certain website, that site may have disabled password saving.

I'm not sure what you mean with "Save login info" in the right-click context menu.
Such a choice can only be added by an extension.
Websites can change the code at any time, so if you got a chance to save the password earlier then what doesn't mean that it will wok now.
The bookmarklet should give information about the presence of autocomplete.<br />
There can be other reasons for not getting that offer like an exception or other problems with the password manager.

  • Why isn't there an update for the Google tool bar? I trusted you and dwnloaded current update.

I just trusted your update and now I am prevented from installing my Google toolbar. What's up with that?

It is absolutely nuts that I updated to 5.0 and now I'm missing my Google Toolbar and most importantly SPELLCHECK! I never would have updated had I know of this problem. Talk about an essential tool. Come on Firefox! I'll be using another browser until you can get this problem fixed!

  • HT4085 Why isn't "hold" an option for the side switch on the iPad?

Why isn't "hold" an option for the side switch on the iPad?
I'd like to be able to let my 3 year old watch videos on the iPad, but young kids want to touch the screen.  I need a method to disable the touch screen.  Seems simple, why isn't this an option?
Is there a way to write an app that allows the side switch to act as a "hold" switch?

The obvious solution is to put the iPad screen out of his reach.  Now that's innovative!

  • Why aren't there anymore updates for the ipod 1st gen?

Why aren't there anymore updates for the ipod 1st gen? I can barely do anything on it now and it would be a waste . its only 4.2.1 just make it to ios 5

Because the hardware will not support a higher iOS.

  • Why isn't my password working for the app?

Hi,  Isn't the password the same for the skype account (in a browser) and the VoIP application the same? I can log in and check my subscriptions, credits, and etcetera but CANNOT use the same passoword with the user name in the application. What am I doing wrong?  Best, Ben

Just reset the TC and start over with a fresh clean setup.
This will not harm any backups or anything on the hard disk.
    What version TC is it?
Mavericks is causing loads of problems.. I would be pointing the finger there.
    The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

  • Firefox 6 slowed down the loading of webpages to a ridiculous level. What the heck is going on, and why isn't there a fix for it?????

Web pages take forever (ie, minutes) to load.

    I suggest you revert.
6.0 apparently has many performance issues. I can't speak to your specific slow-down issue, but if you look at these boards, 6.0 has enough problems to suggest it should be avoided until Mozilla actually puts out a FIX release, not a "new release with new added bugs" release.

  • Why isn't there OrderedList/NavigatableList in the standard API?

    Hello,
there are Ordered and Navigatable Set and Map implementations in the standard java.util APIs, but there is no equivalent for Lists.
When you need to maintain an ordered list, you have to maintain it manually, using e.g. Collections.sort() and Collection.binarySearch().
Is there any formal/logical reason why such implementations do not exist, besides pragmatic reasons such as "no budget"?
Note that such a list might not support method List.add(int index, E element), but this operation is optional anyway.

maybe because Lists allow duplicate elements, allow multiple null elements if they allow null
elements whereas Sets do nor allow duplicate elements, null elements,...

  • Why isn't there a modem inside the Airport?

This is just out of pure curiosity but why doesn't Apple make an Airport with a modem included in it? All the other manufacturers do. I have a Netgear modem with built in Wi-Fi and my parents have a D-Link modem with built-in Wi-Fi. Why does Apple insist that you need to attach some ugly modem to their very attractive AEBS? Seems very un-Apple-like, no? I'd definitely buy one (and lots of other people I know) if it means getting rid of one electronic box, having less cables to tangle and free up a power socket.
    Just curious... you know?

This is just out of pure curiosity but why doesn't Apple make an Airport with a modem included in it?
Perhaps the decision process went like this...
If a DSL modem was included it would limit the use to DSL connections. One could guess that not all DSL connections are the same and therefore it would only work with some DSL connections.
If a cable modem was included it would limit the use to cable Internet connections. I know that not all cable modem connections are the same and therefore it would only work with some cable modem connections.
Both of these items would cater to an audience. However if the AEBS is just an Ethernet router with no modem it would appeal to a much larger population of customers. Probably better than 99.99% use Ethernet to connect their computers.
This has an added benefit of a single production line and a single inventory of parts. Also the Apple support staff never has to answer questions about why ISP service isn't working with the AEBS.
Instead of suffering with a mediocre modem which attempts universal compatibility, those customers with DSL or cable modem connections could get the best modem for their connection and then add wireless networking as they needed it.
    All the other manufacturers do.
Although I would agree that many do, I don't believe all do. And among those that do offer models without a modem.

  • Why weren't there pre-orders for the 5/29 Amiibo wave?

I went to a store a long time ago and printed out my ticket for this wave and when I got to the register two minutes later, I couldn't pre-order the Amiibo I had the tickets for. The employees tried it a few different ways and I was there over half an hour the first time. They told me to come back the next day, so I took the bus early so I could order and still make it to class on time. The pre-orders still weren't up. I kept going back but nothing. It's stupid that I wasted so much time trying to pre-order with actual tickets and I still don't get them. At the very least, why weren't they available? Best Buy shouldn't get any Amiibo at all. It's the worst retailer when it comes to Amiibo.

    Hello r555,
Thanks for writing in with your perspective on our amiibo sales.  I am sorry for any disappointment you have had in adding to your collection.
While many of our gaming items are available for pre-order, this won't always be the case.  I am sorry that we aren't able to help you reserve your desired amiibos.  I hope you are still able to find the ones you are after.

  • Why isn't Photoshop fully optimized for the Mac Pro (Late 2013), and when will this happen?

On the new Mac Pro (late 2013):
Currently, Photoshop CC 2014 seems to lag behind iMacs and Macbook Pros (even older ones) for some tasks.
I assume that this issue is related to either multi-core processing but seems more likely to be a problem with the ATI GPUs not being optimized as the Nvidia GPUs are.
Why is this the case, and when will this be addressed?
Any feedback from Adobe official would be appreciated.
    Thanks

That's what it suggests to you, in the limited scope of your vision and knowledge, and without your having provided detailed specs about your hardware.
Due to the current unavailability of clairvoyants and mind-readers in the forum, we respectfully request you supply sensible, complete details.
We don't even know what your specific issues are, and for all we know you may be running the pathetic, buggy Yosemite OS—which Apple is giving away for free.
In this case, you have been enormously fortunate in that you received a reply from none other than Gµrµ Chris Cox, a top Adobe engineer who has been writing Photoshop code since the last millennium.
It's hight time you drop the attitude and avoid further embarrassing yourself in a public forum.  Just my two cents.

  • Tabs on top?  Why isn't there an option for this???!!!

How is it possible Safari was released without the option to place tabs on the browser's top??!
This was the single best innovation from Apple in browser implementation -- EVER.
    Tabs on top was BRILLIANT.

There are already 7,000 viewers of the official "Tab Not On Top" thread the day after Safari's release!
Options should be the norm. Safari should be allowed to evolve through interaction with users -- not by dictation from timid anti-innovators in Apple's hierarchy.
I don't need to see the site title -- if I don't know which site I am at I can look at the location bar url. Shesh.

  • Why isn't there an iTunes for Linux?

There is no iTunes for Linux. And all I have on my computer is Linux. Can Apple not make iTunes for Linux, or is there a security issue, or something? I want to know.

    capablancauk,
Yes, you are correct. Both OSX and the Linux kernel are built on UNIX. I've only used a Mac once, and it was to install an Apache webserver with MySQL and PHP. Knowing Linux made it easy. OSX is the dummy's version of Linux. That being said, every OS requires specific program hooks, drivers, etc. in order to function properly.
Could it be about digital rights? I don't know.
But the truth is, Linux is a full-featured, secure (who needs antivirus?), cutting-edge OS with enormous power. I use it every day for software development, and a Mac would only slow me down.
Although, I have no doubt that the reason both Microsoft and Apple oppose Linux is pretty obvious. $$$$$

  • Why isn't my received code for the PDF working (Mountain Lion up-to-date mail)?!

After almost 3 days of waiting I finally got three (not two) mails from Apple. One with the code that should open the PDF that has the Mac App Store code for getting Mountain Lion. And instead of one mail with the PDF, I got two of them. The code I got didn't work on any of those PDF's.
    What should I do?

same issue here, nearly 50 hours wait, 3 emails, nothing works, no softwear if i knew this was gonna be such a hassle i wouldnt have bought my macbook pro when i did and waited. really disapointed as friends have it up and running now and i dont.
finally it worked and is now downloading but taking its sweet time.
