  • Why iPad gets heated up?

It is getting heated up so muchapp to 3 inch below the horizontal side from SIM slot. It was getting heated up so much initially, all over but after I gave it service Center it only heats up to described level. Why? I wonder, it is not warm!

If you play a loaded app, and bunch of apps running in the background, then the battery and processor heats up to provide power and processes.

Because Apple didn't put it in the phone. Apple is not here and Apple does not answer questions here.

  • My MackBook Pro keeps heating up

    Hey guys!
I have a mid 2012 macbook pro 15' quad core i7 4gb ram.(its a refurbished from apple. bought oct.2014) Im trying to record some game play video, using elgato game capture HD, and while im recording my laptop keeps heating up and I can hear the fans. I bought this laptop because a lot of people have said, if you wanna record videos and render them fast, get a quad core i7. can anyone give me some ideas on why it keeps heating up? I thought that having quad core, it spreads the power and enegry of the software you're using(im not a tech guy, so I dont really know how quad core works).

    Hi BigBlueDragon,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know that it can be both frustrating and concerning when your computer is operating at higher temperatures than you would expect. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article for more information on operating temperatures and fans.

  • What can i run to see if my machine is a lemon?

i'm looking at replacing more of the keys on my 2009/2010 MacbookPro and to be honest i have not been happy with this machine at all.
the battery life is borderline atrocious. if i have parallels running in the background i get about an hour and if nothing is running at all and the machine is just sitting there i get 3 hours with it doing nothing.
the machine (and the power pack) get alarmingly hot at times, the fan gets loud enough for me to have to jump around and quickly shut down software because it sounds like it wants to explode or something.
also, i sometimes will go out for a ride and when i come back the fan is cranking away and it makes me concerned that something has been affected in some way for running like this. actually, to be totally honest in the last year or so i have tried to shut the case before i go out because i've been concerned about a fire or something.
also, i have a dock icons that will move somewhere random when i try and put them somewhere (app is closed) and instead of going where i put them they move to somewhere totally random.
finally, my bookmark sync with mobileme is constantly getting messed up and i have to reset it roughly once every three or four months.
i assume the bookmark is not related to the computer itself but this does not seem to me like it is normal. is there any way for me to check this on my end instead of relying on the mac genius bar?

    hi sig.
    thanks.
the keys seem to be out of my control. also, the dock icon issue has been brought up four times and no one wants to deal with it. granted, i haven't brought it in on simply that one issue but i guess i will. also, the mobileme bookmark sync gets reset every three to four month and every six to eight months i do this (after finally getting someone that understands what is going on) via applecare support. it /always/ comes back.
i run parallels but beyond that i am not seeing why the excessive heat and the excessive fan noise and the extremely poor battery life (mind you my 3 hour test was with /no/ parallels running) should be acceptable on a computer such as this.
can i ask you what AASP is and can i ask  you specifically what i should be taking a look at when they run diagnostics on it?

  • Powermac vs ibook - slow loading of webpages

For a while now I have been mainly using my ibook G4 over my powermac G5 to access the internet but have had to revert back to the powermac (power lead packed up on ibook!). I have noticed the following and wonder if anyone could give me any tips.
Powermac - accesses web using router with ethernet. Browser is Safari, OSX Panther
ibook - accesses web via same router but wirelessly. Browser is Safari, OSX Tiger
However, pages on the powermac are significantly slower to load than when I use the ibook. Its getting to the point where I just can't be bothered to use the internet as I'm tearing my hair out waiting for pages to load. Now I know you may say it could be the page I'm trying to access but I'm only going to same pages as last week, and the weeks, months before on the ibook and these were loading no problem. Plus the Powermac is connected direct to the router via ethernet cable so would have thought it would have been quicker. I'm even using the same browser on both computers so can't see how it can be a problem with Safari. I've cleared the cache, removed webpage icons but dont know what else to do.
Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks!

After some experimenting, it seems like my poor speed and sluggishness is the result of my computer heating up. I have always turned my computer on at 6 AM and put it to sleep at 10 PM. But with Leopard, if I leave it on all day, it gets extremely hot by late afternoon. Most of my computer work involves accessing a number of websites to monitor sales, auctions, etc. for our businesses. By evening, I can't get most of the sites to open and instead the browsers time out. Today I tried putting it to sleep everytime I needed to leave my desk and it stayed a lot cooler and I'm still working this evening!
When I turn on the computer in the morning, it is lightning fast and pages open almost before I finish clicking!
Are there any suggestions as to why it is heating up and how I can overcome this problem?
    Thanks!

  • Slow Loading of WebPages

Has anyone else noticed webpages loading a lot slower since using the Leopard upgrade? I have to click a second time or it just sits there and times out. Other than that I've been pretty happy with the upgrade.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • G5 ALS weirdest screen problem yet (i think)

Ok, so it's 4 years old and five weeks ago it began to have these weird HORIZONTAL lines. Take a look here:
    http://s731.photobucket.com/albums/ww316/kimadog/?albumview=slideshow
So the deal is that it's supposed to be either the graphics card or maybe the display itself, and in either case it's not worth getting it repaired. Doesn't matter to me these days whether it's worth it or not as I have no $.
But here's the odd thing that no one seems to understand: when the machine is COLD, that's when the lines appear. But if I turn it on and blindly get iTunes going and a youtube video playing via Safari, and then wait for the fan to go on, then restart it a couple of times, the screen comes up perfectly clearly. If I'm actively using the machine for email or writing text or making a CD, the screen will stay just fine all the while. If I'm just listening to something on iTunes and doing nothing else, the lines will return, as they will if I put the machine to sleep.
Been doing this for weeks now and this method enables me to continue using my machine, tho' obviously it's a pain. Anyone KNOW if this still means it's either the graphics card or the display and the machine is definitely terminal? If so, WHY does the heat make it better?
    Thanx for any informed opinions.

I've got the same problem. It used to be sporadical before and for instance the machine had worked from November 2008 till May 2009 with no case of this symptom. But then it's got too bad. Now I cannot work on this machine at all so I'm having hard times using my MacBook for Photoshop and InDesign works and the notebook is definitely not fully capable for this. The toughest thing is that no-one knows what the problem is and no-one seems to be interested (I mean Apple specialists). First they put you through all possible resets and launch from the external CD before they believe you the problem is computer, not user. Then they just disappear from discussions. The most relevant information that I heard is that the Video card needs to be replaced. It goes together with the motherboard and costs in total up to $1K. Even if I was sure (and the Apple specialists too) that this will help, I wouldn't pay that much money. At our local dealer they offer iMac 20" 2GHz Intel in Aluminum body for $1.25K which is far more reasonable investment.
I am disappointed with this iMac because I have 2 older ones in the office that are still working fine. I also have 2 newer ones so I just hope they will work. My iMac G5 is so fully functional and up-to-date that I just hate to change it in the recession times. Apple should be more loyal to us, at least 10% of the loyalty that the customers express to this company and it's products.

  • Odd question on automatic sleep mode when laptop is closed

Is there a way to have the laptop closed and yet still have a program opperating? I'd like to play music through the headphone jack while driving and don't really have a spot to set an open laptop, but iTunes stops playing when I shut the computer. Thanks for any advice.
    ibook g4 1.42 gh   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I can't answer that question because no one truly knows the answer because there are so many variables. Firmware was not really meant to be altered by a third party (I believe). Your iBook was made to work with the firmware created by Apple.
iTunes, in normal cases, should not cause your computer to heat up. There are many different reasons why a computer heats up. I have put some thoughts in this previous post that covers heat and what can cause it.
Basically, philosophy is that before installing a hack that can create problems, you have to weigh what will the effects be if something bad happens. Would you have the resources to fix it? Would you want to just buy a new computer? How valuable is this iBook?

  • MacBook 2nd Monitor

    Hello,
    I have a White 13" MacBook 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, Intel Core Duo running 10.5.7
Under normal conditions, the fans run at approximately 1700 - 2000 rpm. As soon as I connect an external Monitor via the Mini DVI port (mini DVI to adaptor) the fans ramp up to 3.5 - 4k rpm and stay there.
    Should this happen ?
The problem is that as soon as I open any applications and start using the MacBook, the fans then ramp to max of 6200rpm and stay there until I disconnect the external monitor....
It is a complete pain and I do not understand why it should heat up so much and be so loaded by the addition of a simple Monitor. My question is actually for another reason too, the fact that I am about to buy an Intel MacMini but as these only have a similar Mini DVI connector for the screen, I do not want to buy one if I am going to have the thing running its fans at full speed all the time.
Don´t understand any of this. I have never experienced this before when simply connecting a Monitor. I have had Macs for almost 20 years and always loved them cause of the quiet and stability compared to PCs.
Will the Mac Mini be the same when I connect a Monitor to its Mini DVI port ? The new Mac Mini has two connectors for two Monitors, will it be even worse with 2 Monitors connected ?
I had a MacMini before with pure DVI out and this was fine with a screen attached.....Seems pointless having the support for simultaneous output in the new models, if they just runs too hot after connection of even one monitor.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Macbook 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo W/2GB RAM VS Latest MBP

Hey All, I have a macbook and my friend has a MBP the latest 15 inch with 4gb of ram , i think his processor speed is 2.6 core 2 duo. Well i was wondering, we were doing screen sharing and my macbook was warming up and i went to look on his screen and his was normal temp with idling fans. What my question is why does mine heat up and his doesn't? I know he has a MBP but is it the processor speed he has or the 4gb of ram?
    Thanks!

The integrated graphics on the MacBook will tend to heat up faster in my experience.
The 2 fans were also mentioned, as well as the aluminum case.

  • I cannot stop swearing to VERIZON Representatives

(Removed) First of all, I "on vacation" in Europe and  yesterday I spent 1 hour an 38 minutes being transferred over and over and being placed on hold FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I have been trying to dispute my bill for a while but no one in customer service is able to help me to do so. The data usage was beyond any possible human use for someone who works all day every day like me, TO PAY $260 MONTHLY BILL FROM VERIZON for the past 3 months. The previous balance hasn't been properly adjusted and the change of plan either. I need someone to carefully review all my bills and a serious dispute needs to be submitted. I am in Europe and I CANNOT MAIL  a dispute. It will get there in the Spring 2014, because that's how it is for mailing overseas in this European country, period. And it would also cost me 35 Euro that I am not willing to spend. I kept being transferred between financial services and customer service an INFINITE number of times. Financial services say it's customer service responsibility to help me with this and financial services keep saying it's customer service and that's how I ruined my afternoon, being careless bounced, like I don't have a life, like I am stupid and I don't matter at all. For love of God, whose responsibility is to file a charges dispute? And why absolutely NO ONE knows if I can reconnect my phone EARLIER than 90 days if I suspend it? My VERIZON bill is higher than my rent, constantly. So when I told the customer service what they did instead of helping figure out why is so (removed) high, they suspended my account without letting me know, creating even more damages!!!! I was billed TWICE in a month because of that and because of "prorated charges" my bill has constantly been $265 A MONTH!!!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!! Also, the LIVE CHAT does NOT work and TWITTER is a joke, obviously I got no response what's so ever. Let's see if this forum works and if someone will finally help me as a PAYING customer as I DESERVE.

That however is totally subjective to the person your speaking to. A few months ago while fighting with a home contractor I used the word  >>removed<< and hell and stupid *** and the guy said I don't need to take this abuse. However not swear words in the general sense this individual because of wanting to avoid the issue, not showing up per contract, not doing what was agreed or paid for, not finishing the job on time etc. After two calls with my heated language he was threatening to hang up. Of course having to have our attorney write his company a letter, then resulted in the work being done but believe me his language was far worse than what I used. After he drove over and seen the size of me, and how I was 100% pure mean his language changed.
I can understand why in the heat of trying to get some sort of resolution to a problem a customer may use language perceived as uncalled for but its really not.
Believe me that provision is not one verizon will enforce since they value the customers money and not some droid who is making a buck eight five an hour. Verizon when confronted with harsh language normally just hangs up on the customer or puts the call in a continuous loop. Which gets the customer all the madder for the next representative.
