Why it's taking so much free available space when I sync both iPad & iPhone

I really need some solution for this and I hope you can help me. There's something strange about every time I sync both of my iPhone 5 & iPad 3 when I open and using my laptop to backup them. Now here's the strange part: my free Available space is used to be 29.39 GB out of 64 GB from my iPhone 5 for example but after for a while, it's 19.64 GB free. And the funny thing is I haven't added anything extra like movies for example since I can watch movies through iCloud Wi-Fi. I was wondering why does this happen for both of my devices iPhone and iPad?
Most likely there is corrupt data on your iPad.
Restore and see if that helps.
Next try to restore as new.
If neither of those help take it to Apple.

Secondly, if i delete a song from itunes,is that song removed from the mac and is the space freed up?If not then what should I do to free up space when i delete songs from itunes?Your MBP will support a 3T HDD provided it is formatted correctly and has sufficient power. Most large HDDs require an outboard power source.
When you delete songs from iTunes you will get a message if you want to send it to trash. If you send it to trash, space will be freed up only when you empty trash. An individual song does not consume much space so if your HDD is becoming full, more drastic action s should be considered, such as moving an entire file to an external HDD.

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke. Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people

Please do not post the entire messages log as it takes up unnecessarily a lot of space. It seems that there is a corrupt/nonfunctional file called

Go to your hard drive, enter library, go into users, and go into launch agents and delete the thing above. Empty the trash and restart. -
i have deleted my private folder and do not have enough space to reinstall my operating system. How can i transfer files from my hard drive to an USB drive to free up space when the operating system isn't working. or do i need to erase disk through disk utilities without erasing data (but will it delete my programs such as photoshop, office, creative suite?
Connect the computer to another Mac and put it in FireWire Target Disk mode, or use the Disk Utility to clone the drive or image specific folders with the USB drive as the target. After you've copied off everything you want, you'll likely need to erase the drive and reinstall the applications.

I responded to your first post and assumed that you didn't have a computer. If I was wrong, I apologize for misreading your question.
Did you totally erase the device and not restore from a backup? If you totally erased the device and set up as new, the passcode should not be on the device. -
Why Apple doesn't provide options in IOS to power off, reset, standby ipad/iPhone/ipod ? I don't se this opiton in IOS6 as well ? This option will help to avoid pressing power button less number of times and gives better user experience.
They do.
Standby = press the Power button
Power off = Press and hold Power button then slide the red power off slider.
Reset = Press and hold both Reset adn Home till you see the Apple logo.

When I sync my ipad mini it says there 9gb of "other" taking up space. How do I find out what this is so I can delete files????
Most likely there is corrupt data on your iPad.

when i sync my ipad and imac on ical the times are different yet the time zones are the same, any ideas why?
Under the summary tab in iTunes make sure you have Automatically Back Up This computer. If you have iCloud selected it won't back up when syncing.

Why it is taking too much time to kill the process?
Hi All,
Today,one of my user ran the calc script and the process is taking too much time, then i kill the process. I am wondering about one thing here even it is taking too long to kill the process, generally it will not take more than 2 sec. I did this through EAS.
After that I ran Maxl statement
alter system kill request 552599515;
there is no use at all.
Please reply if you have any solutions to kill this process.

1. Firstly, How much time does your calculation scripts normally run.
2. While it was running, you can go to the logs and monitor where exactly the script is taking time .
3. Sometimes, it does take time to cancel a transaction ( as it might be in between).
4. Maxl is always good to kill ,as you did . It should be succesful . Check the logs what it says ,and also the "sessions" which might say "terminating" and finish it off.
5. If nothing works ,and in the worst case scenarion , if its taking time without doing anything. Then log off all the users and stop the databas and start it .
6. Do log off all the users, so that you dont corrupt any filter related sec file.
Be very careful , if its production ( and I assume you have latest backups)

Why is query taking too much time ?

I have a table name test which has 100000 records in it,now the question i like to ask is.
when i query select * from test ; no proble with responce time, but when the next day i fire the above query it is taking too much of time say 3 times.i would also like to tell you that everything is ok in respect of tuning,the db is properly tuned, network is tuned properly. what could be the hurting factor here ??

Why does vault say iCloud Drive has insufficient space when there is plenty available?
I have 49.7GB of Aperture photo data that I want to back up to a Vault. I am running Yosemite and recently upgraded my iCloud drive to 200GB with only 13.7GB currently being used. When I set up a Vault using the iCloud drive it says I have insufficient space. Clearly I don't!
My iCloud account confirms that the space is available. Any suggestions please?An Aperture vault cannot be stored in iCloud drive. If you put it on a synced volume it will be corrupted by syncing. Write your vault to a locally connected disk like described here for Aperture Libraries:

A vault is essentially an Aperture library, so the same holds. I tested putting Aperture libraries, vaults, and iPhoto Libraries onto iCloud Drive. After the first sync they needed repairing.

How much free space is on your Mac? You can only write files to iCloud Drive that will fit on all devices that are connected to iCloud Drive. iCloud Drive is not like an external disk - it is a shared storage for syncing your Macs.
